Game Of Thrones Season Two **No Spoilers posted ITT please** I'm also completely confused about what happened there in Qarth & what's going on with Arya/Tywin since it is a big divergence from the book, but I think that makes the show much more watchable having read the book. If everything played out exactly like the book there wouldn't be as much suspense, actually liking these changes. First season was fun to watch, but it followed the book so closely i don't think I enjoyed it nearly as much as people who never read the book. Enjoying watching this season more than the first. The Raid: Redemption - Best action in years I think only the second elite squad movie is available on Netflix, it is solid. The Raid is in theatres right now maybe only in Indy theatres, recommend you see it there unless you find a really high quality rip, bc the sound and special fx are great. Posted in: Off Topic |

The Raid: Redemption - Best action in years Anyone else seen this one' Was looking for the thread, and couldn't find anything. Just saw this movie today and I strongly suggest anyone who likes actions movies go out and see it immediately. It's Indonesian, but minimal dialogue, so those of you afraid of subtitles shouldn't worry about it. Rarely have I been to a non-fanboy movie with the audience oohin and ahhing and clapping multiple times throughout the movie...there's about 5minutes of build-up in the beginning then the action barely stops and the momentum keeps picking up throughout the film. Some of the best gun, knife, ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Luck on HBO The cinematography in the racing shots are consistently excellent, I get a little excited watching every race. that said, I don't see why with CGI and some stock footage they couldn't tone it down, put the horses at no risk, and save the show. Posted in: Off Topic |

Favorite Diners/Restaurants I pretty much live at Nookies most weekend eaten there 200+ times and almost never had a bad meal / experience, my standard is a basic coffee, 2 eggs over medium, hash browns, sausage links (some of the best i've had) and wheat toast. Sometimes I mix it up with some ernesto's chilaquiles, crunchy french toast, a seasonal special or one of their obscenely large omelets. Posted in: Off Topic |

Dollar Shave month club Definitely real, they got $1M in VC funding: / Brilliant marketing, but should have been prepared for this to potentially go viral and have a better web server. Now a lot of people are probably seeing the site down and think the whole thing's a joke. Posted in: Off Topic |

Rush Limbaugh Good point: Typical case of the media echo chamber distorting the real issue that probably most people agree with into some insidious plan for the government to pay for everyone's birth control. Posted in: Off Topic |

Rush Limbaugh Did you guys read the article or quote' it is not about the government paying for abortions or calling someone a slut for having abortions, it is about paying for contraception, ie birth control. He actually calls her a prostitute and a slut: In my experience being on birth control does not equal slut, it's being responsible. Posted in: Off Topic |

Illegal everything! This +1 solid video. A family member of mine got stung by a similar situation to the fisherman shown early on, was "breaking a law" that was generally standard practice in the industry, didn't harm anyone, and didn't realize it was a felony (was made a felony by some of the rules put in place by the Patriot Act). Luckily didn't go to jail, but had to pay a huge fine & legal costs which almost bankrupted him. Posted in: Off Topic |

Why do u love where u live? Chicago 1. Pretty much everything you want in a big city, every variety of restaurants/bars, decent theatre scene, decent music, great comedy scene, etc 2. Value for cost of living is one of the best in the country, very reasonable rents compared to other major cities, don't need a car, no city income tax (though sales tax here is ridic) 3. Summer are great and this winter has been street festivals, lake michigan, just a general party atmosphere throughout the summer Posted in: Off Topic |

What is OT reading? Read Assholes Finish First by Tucker Max recently, entertaining but not as good as the first one. Also read The Big Short, which was good, but I felt like I already knew most of the story from other reporting about the housing crash. Did give me a somewhat better understanding of how we got into the mess and there were a few interesting characters. Michael Lewis is a great writer, and keeps what could be a very dull story interesting. Recently started Peoples History of the United States, interesting so far. Would also recommend Modern Times by Paul Johnson, for the opposite take on ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Bigger Goat: Billy Cundiff and Kyle Williams? definitely williams, that game was as close to a tie as any i've seen...the teams were practically at a defensive standoff most of the game with the main difference being williams' 2 fuckups Both games were painful endings though, i hate to see teams win in cheap ways like an opponent's missed chip shot or a fluke special teams play (admittedly 2nd fumble was not a fluke).
