Live 1/2 hand from MGM the other night....thoughts? wwyd?
I think its a really dangerous flop for the villian NOT to raise if he flops trips... It is a 1/2 game, and I would want the initial raiser to pay for the draws if I were the villian... Just flat calling that board would be a bad play, and negative equity IMO - or if he has a great read on your hand, and think you will call with an over-pair it is still a great raise... On the other hand, it looks like villian is trying pot control, keeping the bets small looking for an out... The min-raise after the flop and the little bigger than half pot size bet on the turn seem meh... I think you should ...

AK wtf spot early in 28K FTP tourney
OK - I just moved to FTP not too long ago, and I am not the most experienced tourney player, and generally $26 is the highest buy-in I will play... Having said that - these tourneys have a lot of bad play through out in my opinion. I am used to UBs smaller fields at anything over $20 buy-in. So, people are just really active with really marginal hands. This villain has been pretty active, but his limp call UTG has me really suspicious, and what does that flop not hit'' So, since this is so early on - auto muck' or call and load up another tourney... No incredible reads here, just looking for ...

Re:QJ on river.. facing big check raise
There aren't really any hands that you can beat... I fold everytime here! If he is making a move with a hand like J10 or maybe calling flush draw on Turn''' i dunno either way you are way behind 95% of the time. Fold.

Re:Early in SnG with JJ - what do you do??
All of these responses are what I am thinking as my timebank is running down. Why would someone limp with KK-AA, and who would jam with AK, but how am I ahead of his range...I can't be right'''' Is this a resteal this early on' If he does onlyhave AK or KQ I am still just 50/50 and there is so much play to be had, as it is the second hand tot he tourney, so fold everytime, and live to play another day, but if I am right and make the call I have a monster stack for the entire tourney. Well, as much as I want to keep hearing the responses you will be amazed at what happens in this hand. I ...

Re:Early in SnG with JJ - what do you do??
Yes, I agree that this looks like the easiest fold ever, and maybe a stupid post, but do you honestly believe he limped behind all of these players with KK-AA' Just doesn't seem right, he would lose so much value in his hand, unless he was gambling that a donkey like myself would raise the pot...

Early in SnG with JJ - what do you do??
This is seriously the second hand of the tourney - and with all of these limpers I pot it, hoping to take down the pot right there or atleast go HU. So, no reads on the MP re-raiser. My initial thought here was to jam, and say oh well, but I honestly do not know what else he could be re-raising with except KK, AA, AK - or is this a resteal this early' I am sure the optimal play here is to fold, but something doesn't feel right, with all of these limpers do you just limp from his position with AA or KK' Stage #1445551473 Tourney ID 1947095 Holdem Single Tournament No Limit $20 - ...

Simple SnG question - fold or is this a good time to Repop?
Guy is short staked and this is a turbo - blinds are moving up to 50/100 in 1 minute. This guy is making a pot sized raise, but looks like a good time to repop as I think I might be in front of his range, or does the book say fold and wait for a better spot' The answer may be simple, but I am wondering if this move is +EV in the long run or is my A9os to wide and too light to re-steal with him having so small of a stack' I am trying to get better at SnG strategy so any help would be appreciated. The villain had been limping a lot of pots earlier on in the game, and got involved in a big pot, ...

Check river, as you are only getting called by hands that beat you,a nd folds to hands that can't.

Re:SNG short handed JJ what do you do?
I put the iso-raiser on a range of 88+ AQ/AK - but, I couldn't see the pros in calling except holding against overs and possibly a smaller pair, thus resulting in me being massive chip leader. If I fold, I will still be chip leader and not susceptible to being bubble boy. So, I ended up folding and it was the right decision as villain woke up with KK - here is rest of info! SNG short handed JJ what do you do?
What is your play here' Is this just a standard easy fold' What range do we assign him - if I give the re-raiser the range of AK is this a call' Villain has been playing more aggressive the last orbit, and this iso raise made me wonder if JJ is an easy fold for ICM numbers' Stage #1432555271 Tourney ID 1947017 Holdem Single Tournament No Limit $200 - 2009-01-27 15:06:45 (ET) Table: 26626580 (Real Money) Seat #8 is the dealer Seat 2 - TRCHAWK ($2250 in chips) Seat 3 - HARDHAT9 ($585 in chips) Seat 6 - AFRYE ($1490 in chips) Seat 7 - XACDJ2005 ($3220 in chips) Seat 8 - HUSSLING ($930 in ...

Re:anyone seen this before?
OK - i swear on my life at a Casino in WV - A guy had AA AA JJ KK AA KK all in a row - the only hand he lost was the JJ hand, and he open folded when the flop had an A and a K on the board... To make matters even more crazy, twice when he had AA someone had KK, he won $2300 in six hands at a $1/$2 table. Craziest thing i have ever seen in my entire life.

Would depend on your read of the player, but in most situations here, and it being 6 handed I would call, check call if A hits. If he keeps firing, then I would lay it down and wait for a better spot.

Re:Ultimate Bet Constructive Criticism Post
Hey roothlus, One suggestion is: if you satty into an event, you should be able to unregister for tourney dollars at your own discretion, and not be forced to play in the tourney. I know they have the rule if you are already registered they give you tourney dollars after 1 satty win, but still. I still feel they need to improve the MTT schedule, I know things are slow, but add some higher GT's for $5-$20 freezeouts for us small and midstakes grinders and $50-$100 freezeouts for higher stakes players- most GT's are Rebuys or Bounty/Sniper tournies - this will IMO get more traffic to ...

Re:Hands from 100 rebuy. Whats would you do?
Well, you might think my opinions are LOL because you are apro and I am not, but I think you could amke an argument for each - heres what i would do. 1. I can see a shove, as he could be stealing light, but if you are wrong then you are losing a good portion of your stack, but +20BBs. I wouldn't mind a flat and jam to a 10 high board - this is basically the same as a repop , but if he has AQ/AK it will be harder for him to make the call for his tourney life, and you are eliminating two cards for his potential 50/50 flip pre flop. I would suggest this, rather than a flat check on a 10 ...

Re:Find a fold here?
You can beat every hand but exactly JJ 77 or 4/6 - and I am not going to give him JJ with preflop play - so 77 is more likely IMO, but I think you still have to shove. If he ends up having a higher set it sucks, but I think you are way ahead here.
