Question on General MTT Strategy
You didn't play it wrong. Guess i'd keep in mind a few things... I'd emphasize pot control early in MTTS when you are extremely deep stacked & when you are OOP. And when you said "its an obvious jam situation to his min raise", I guess i'd disagree. Theres nothing wrong with calling and re-evaluating on the turn, even though jamming there is probably the most standard option... But, i've been playing since 2004, the days when 'Party Poker' ruled all, and i've come to understand that nothing is really standard, and you constantly have to adjust. Just (1) try not to get in tons of situations ...

Balancing poker and life and love
Man, it is tough. I have a pretty good system going... Ftilt kind of messed it up w/ there doubles week + ftops though. I have a full time job as a financial planner, currently have about 65 - 70 clients (and growing), have a wife, work out every day, and put in decent volume playing poker. On grind evenings/nights I probably only get 4-5 hours of sleep, which is pretty brutal, and can't be too healthy. My wife is in real estate sales so she is busy on the weekends, and I don't do any work appts on weekends, which frees up a ton of poker time. I also play Monday/Wed/Thurs nights (lighter ...

Dumb. 1 mirrion isn't enough to quit working/grinding poker (if thats what you do). Atleast for me. Guess I have an expensive life style. I'd invest the majority of it in Oil futures.. Wait till those middle eastern fkers manipulate the price to 140 - 150 range, sell, and have bunches of more money.

So cashing $162k for 77k+ profit on ftp, and $152k for 84k profit on stars, for a respectible 161k of profit IN JUST 2011 ISN'T BIG' @ This rate he is on pace for 1.9mill cashes & and 996k of profit for the year & a nice roi of 53% Lol @ 'It's been pretty ruff' & double lol @ 'just gotta hang in there and try and play better' Are you kidding me' U are a sicko man. Is rebuying at the start of an MTT a bad bet?
Probably true, but you are also starting at a disadvantage to somewho who has already doubled there stack. Example.. You decide to not rebuy at the start. You have 1,500 chips, and get it in against someone who did rebuy (Most likely will happen at some point during the rebuy hour since play is much looser).. Win, and you are up to 3,000. If you would have rebought at the beginning, you would have 6k, instead of the 3k.. This effect would continue through out the tournament. Looking at it purely from an ICM perspective, you are probably right. But, your ITM % + ROI % will most likely be ...
