Dane Cook Seriously, what is going on with people in the world today' Are people really this cynical and just overall jackasses these days' To suggest that just because someone likes Dane Cook that they're an idiot is ridiculous. Im sure there are plenty of people that dont get the appeal of someone that you find funny as well. Does that make you an idiot for liking him' No... Just because he's not your cup of tea doesnt mean that there is anything wrong with him or anyone that enjoys his performances... I don't get whats funny about Michael Cera but that doesnt mean I'm gonna come on here and bash him ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Anyone watch Persons Unknown? Prob a repost but I hate searching so I'm gonna post it again. Anyone following this show' I remember seeing the previews like 3 months ago and didn't realize it was starting so soon so I missed the first few episodes. I dont want to start watching new episodes until I go back and see the first ones so I wanted to see what you guys thought of it and whether or not it was worth it. On a side note, anyone else interested in "The Event'" Posted in: Off Topic |

How much of your paycheck do you put into a retirement account? Nice, I was actually just about to ask if that was the one where you had to have 100 or less employees to qualify for it. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Posted in: Off Topic |

If you were Corey Pavin, who are you selecting for your Captn's picks? I looked up talent in the dictionary and I didnt see a picture of either Tiger or Jordan. In fact, I didn't see any pictures at all. Granted, there are multiple dictionaries and I only checked Merriam-Webster. Posted in: Off Topic |

How much of your paycheck do you put into a retirement account? Yeah, I didnt think of that, but I've never known anyone with a Simple IRA. I'm a banker and I've yet to run into anyone with one. I'm actually not even 100% sure what it is but I think it's an employee sponsored retirement plan where they match your contributions. Not really sure how it works though Posted in: Off Topic |

How much of your paycheck do you put into a retirement account? I put 5K a year into an IRA plus a 6% company match into a 401K... And wtf with the 7K a year into an IRA' The max you can put into an IRA is 5K per year unless you're 50+ in which you can put 6K a year. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:do you think it's fair that Alexander Hamilton Guess I be leveled... :( But seriously, if you're remotely interested in US history at all, take Zepelin's advice. I'd say for those that aren't interested so much in politics read an Alexander Hamilton bio, but if you do enjoy politics, read the Federalist Papers. If we had presidents like our founding fathers, countries like China wouldn't be anywhere near the powerhouse that we would be today... Sadly, China is going to pass us in world dominance within the next 10-20 years. Oh and Waco, you still owe me Denny's mother fucker, or have you forgotten' Just cuz you ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:No offense Jackie Robinson/OT/America, but they lied to you! I don't think OP understands the meaning of breaking the color barrier... As explained in the other, almost equally retarded post, Jackie Robinson gets credit because it was after him that many other black people began joining the league. The flood gates didn't open after the guy mentioned in the OP joined the league... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:top physicists level......obv? Why is string theory even being mentioned here' FWIW, string theory is not really commonly accepted anymore, it's evolved into M theory... (membrane theory)... Oh, and if the universe was finite, it would be shrinking due to gravity which would eventually result in every particle in the universe being condensed to little speck smaller than an electron, (big crunch) which would eventually explode due to its density, thus repeating the big bang and big crunch over and over and over... Re:top physicists level......obv? Technically the OP is referring to just one universe, with infinite size. Because of this, mathematically, there are infinite copies of each one of us and mathematically some of us have to be doing the exact same thing at the exact same time. In some far away place, an exact copy of me just posted this with a typo, somewhere i posted it with 2 typos, etc etc etc... That's pretty much the exact definition of a type 1 parallel universe. It's not nearly as absurd as some of the other parallel universes. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Tipping the mailman around holidays? Niceguy, seriously, you're clueless... Maybe go and do some research. The USPS receives $0 annually from your taxes. The post office is an independently run entity. If it was funded by the government it would be a non-profit organization, which it is not. The fact that they lost something like 3 billion dollars each of the last 2 years would not even matter, because like police protection, it would be a service that must be provided, regardless of cost. Just like UPS and Fed-ex, they are in it for profit. Until recently, the company was MAKING money... Plz go ahead and post something else ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:The race card Racism is still a big deal but affirmative action is a terrible way to deal with it. Like one earlier reply mentioned, the post office is now filled with a ton of hispanic and black guys that literally can not even read, and yet they're delivering mail. Not only that, they also have to promote some of them into management. Take a look at the success of the post office before and after affirmative action laws and decide whether or not its good for companies. I dont care if you're black, white, asian, jewish, muslim, or what the f*ck ever, the best man for the job should get the job. I ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Tipping the mailman around holidays? The ignorance in this thread is amazing. Do you people seriously know anything' Your taxes don't go to mailmen.... The USPS makes its money off the stamps you buy and the packages you send. You're not paying their salary, and like I said before, you're not paying their pensions.... It never ceases to amaze me how many people will open their mouths on a subject they know nothing about... EDIT: By the way, I'm only referring to the 2 or 3 people that said what I mentioned in my reply Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Tipping the mailman around holidays? Autolobotomist, please get your facts straight if you're going to try to contribute... You are paying absolutely nothing towards your mailman's pension. Civil service retirement was done away with in the very early 1980s. Since that time, everyone who has started (and some who switched over at that time) is on a 401K plan, just like everyone else. They still pay for their benefits after retirement and they don't get any of your tax dollars... Oh, and back to the OP... Tipping the mailman really is a fantastic idea. About 10 of my closest friends are mailmen, and even though its ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Roth IRA vs. Traditional IRA? that just blew my mind... LDM, that's almost exactly what my plan was... and yeah, under a Roth IRA, nothing is taxable. (after youve paid the taxes on the money you were initially putting in) Principle and gains are all tax free. Posted in: Off Topic |
