What's the real deal behind 12 180s? I've heard these are the devil and I've seen plenty of people who make a nice profit from them. I've had very good results in 4.40s, 11s, 22s non turbo over about a 4k sample. Aside from 4.40s, nothing really fills at a reasonable rate on stars late at night (my current play time), except 12 180s. I'm very leery about playing these as having 100-200 BI swings as a regular part of the grind is not something I'm eager to deal with. However, there really aren't any games around the 11 buy-in level available late night so I'm not really sure what to do' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Small-Mid Stakes MTT Structure Discussion I actually like the 3k/15min level structure on stars and I think that should be the standard structure for all mid/low stakes tournaments that are not turbos. If I could change anything, I would have stars streamline their buyins in the low/midstakes area and have all Guaranteed tournaments use the above structure. If you look for at the Guaranteed Low/Midstakes schedule excluding turbos, hyper-turbos and knockouts, you're left with a very tiny selection of games at anything below $55.00. Their best midstakes lineup happens to run Midnight to 6am for some reason with a slew of $33.00 ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Let's stop with all the hand history advice, okay? Sorry but I like the replies. Probably 99% of the advice on here is pretty horrid, spewtastic, over-aggressive, and just plain bad. Makes for easy double ups in my regular games. I agree with this....the Non-turbo schedule these days is pretty laughable.. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

AP/UB liquidating? UB/AP should have been shut down once the original scandal came to light. The fact that they weren't simply shows the utter greed of the community and the lack of self policing is an abomination in and of itself. Those who continued to play on the site after such a scandal was brought to light deserved to be cheated again, and again, and again. Those who play there currently without knowledge of the previous scandal(s) simply are yet another victim of this vicious network and its employees. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Illinois pros getting sued holy wow!! In fact, the naivety of people in this thread and those of the poker community in general, irk me to a large degree. Those of you who think you're opponent at the 109r or Wednesday 250k FT (insert deep run major tourney here) aren't sitting there on skype, aim, the phone or looking over their shoulder talking to a buddy of equal or near equal caliber deserve to be parted from your money. This problem has been rampant for YEARS and you better get yourself some friends decent on the felt if you'd like to even the playing field. As for the guy in the lawsuit: Sorry you didnt have a house full ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Illinois pros getting sued holy wow!! What do you mean 'Wat'' This has, and will continue to be, common practice among top online tournament players until real security measures are taken by the pokersites they frequent. I'm more surprised at people being surprised by this quote in the pdf. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

dispute between me and bakes Yes, verbal contracts are fine and well. But looking at the information displayed here it is absolutely laughable to claim that they had any such conctract. MAYBE if they had prior backing arrangements that were very casual like this....but thats a big maybe. So according to many of you, if you someone msgs you and says 'Yea I'll take 10% and send the money tomorrow' (someone you dont have much if any prior backing experience with) and then you dont hear from that guy for 2-3 weeks and then he comes around saying you owe him a % of your winnings. You'll happily pay him his money as the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

dispute between me and bakes No the fail is the retardedly unclear verbal aggreement matt thinks he has with bakes. Who cares how mattg does business with OTHER players....that has nothing to do here unless he and bakes have several past backing arrangements where this kinda thing is standard. Which you can obviously see, it isnt with them. So as stated before unless you got something in writing or money changed hands...you're owed nothing and this is nothing more than an angle shoot at some cash. Seems pretty obvious this entire conversation would have turned out much different if bakes didn't cash in the event at all. ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

dispute between me and bakes How did this thread make it past 1 page' No offense, but you're an idiot...you didn't ship him any money, he owes you nothing, next case. I heard joe cada was selling his action in the wsop, i wanted in but I didnt send him any money...I think he still owes me about a 1 million cut. See how idiotic that sounds' If a lot of you go around holding your action and/or paying people a % of your winnings based on verbal contracts like these you seriously need to get your head examined. If money doesn't change hands and/or there is not shit in writing, assume the deal is not set and go about your ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

djk and gboro fold here... right???? Doubtful, if you haven't noticed the rarest posts are those of top ranked "i.e. winners" players, while the rest of the forum is flooded with break even/losing players. The ones that are most vocal are generally the ones furthest in the hole. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

djk and gboro fold here... right???? If my read is that a player's line shows me to be crushed, I'm folding and feeling good about it. Don't forget that something like 90% of the poker population in the world is break even and/or losing, with only like 2-5% being substantial winners. So judging by that math roughly 2-5 replies out of 100 you get to this thread will be from players who aren't breaking even or losing consistently. The other 95 replies are from people losing or breaking even...do you really want to take advice from them' Gl. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Are SnG games too tight now... Some bad advice in this thread. Since SnG's are dominated by mass multitabling regs, opening your game early and staying aggressive throughout is the correct strategy because they have way too many tables going to play back at you light or to get involved in difficult post flop decisions. With the majority of your opponents playing 10, 20, 30 tables or whatever, you're leaving a TON of money on the table playing the same style they are (tight). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Stars 180 non turbos need some love I really wish there were a way to get more players interested in these. After the 4.40 level, the 11's and 22's fill up so incredibly slow. I don't understand why as there is a TON of value in these tournaments. With almost 300K players online during peak times (like right now) these should be filling up and going off like crazy. Maybe we can brain storm and come up with some promotion on 180s for stars to help get these tournaments filling faster. Any good ideas out there' Posted in: Poker Discussion |
