Re:Another Omaha Tourney Question There's not a lot of spots like that where you'll be absolutely crushed right there in Omaha. I think you played it fine. Just bad luck. You have a strong hand like KQJ9. you can't just fold it preflop. On the flop you look like you have so many outs and in most situations like that you're in great shape and ahead against a wide range of hands. You may have to know that the first player to check might be hoping Acekicker will bet so he can ship with a flush draw. That's a possiblility in the low stakes. so maybe checking to see a turn might be in the realm of possibilities ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Pokertracker Problem with Tourney and SNG results being tracked. Hold'em Manager have this problem? I've been using Pokertracker 3 for a couple of months now and have been perfectly happy with the HUD. I've decided to delve deeper into PT3 and do reports to chart my progress and such and it seems on cash games it's pretty accurate but the tournament recording is not so great. it shows I was in the money 0 times in sng's and tourneys in the course of over 100 games and doesn't record any wins (insert joke here... I really have made at least 1 cash I'd think) so I can't effectively track my ROI and it seems like it's not as accurate there. I know I can go to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Fraudulent Pokerstars check I love this answer! At least now I know when I cash out one day I will be able to protect myself. Hope you can figure this one out man. Stars is a reportable company so the bank probably said fraudulent cause they're F's. they see an online poker check or an out of country check and have a stick up their butt thinking it's something nefarious. Re:End Game Advice I suck at poker compared to you but if you have KQ and you're on the button, what do you do' Look at pokertracker stats and if they have a low 'call-raise' and 'preflop raise' percentage then you raise it up. If they do call at least you know you have a good hand. if they raise, if they're a tight player you fold, a loose player, you might consider calling. I feel like I'm giving advice to a pro. that's weird. Pummel the Passive, Steer Clear of the Maniacs Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:is it illegal to cashout in NC Do your homework, go online and look for a poker tax book. I think there was a lady on pocketfives who did a book about taxes though I can't remember her name. You might want to ask David Huber about the book and read it before you cash out. JEEEEEZE I WISH i had your problem :) Posted in: Poker Legislation |

Re:PStars and exclusive sponsorship for live events Stars is a business. They're going to do whatever helps their bottom line more. It helps them more to give out VPPs rather than cash just so you'll dump more money on the site. It's worth writing stars about but unfortunately I don't think it's going to change much maybe unless enough players spoke out and were concerned but still I doubt it would do much. I'd like to have your problem of buying into an EPT *jealous :) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Fold KJs with 6ish BBs? I'd rather be first in to raise a tight players blind with a random hand and hope he folds than to call or re-raise in a spot where it's an insta-call because of pot odds. Like if you raise Dactors blind, he'd be more apt to fold because a call represents a large chunk of his stack. I'd rather do that with a random hand than gamble. That said, either way re-raising or folding are both not really mistakes since you're so short and you have to gamble before the blinds come around. But this is a personal preference spot and either one can be argued to be correct. Calling is ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Variance and tilt is taking it's toll. Need Advice. Ha! Yeah I think that's some solid advice. Instead of looking at the amount in my FullTilt Account every second, I think that may not be a measuring stick I should be invested in as much as my hand histories. Maybe I have to stop thinking about the money and just focus on playing Grade A poker. I think that's probably why I end up Tilting, moving up too fast and busting my bankroll so often is cause my head saying "I just lost $100". rather than, "I played that right". Play right and the money will come Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Variance and tilt is taking it's toll. Need Advice. This makes me a feel a little better. I think you have given me some of the best advice. That and the fact that I have to respect my bankroll. I've been playing since 05 just recreationally and only this last year started taking the game seriously with pokerVT training, learning strategy, etc. I was never able to run up my bankroll to anything for years Until this year where I've done it 5 times on Stars and FullTIlt after studying the game so I know I've improved a lot this year. My game is different and I've taken what I've learned and am applying it, I have a lot to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Variance and tilt is taking it's toll. Need Advice. I've managed to have to the best 3 months I've ever had playing poker and yet variance and tilt are killing me. I keep managing to run my money up from $100 to $700. $100 to $800, $100 to $1700, before I could never make a dime in cash games and now I actually feel my game has improved greatly. Yet I can't seem to keep it up. I know tilt has the most to do with this and learning to have more poker endurance. The second thing eating my bankroll is the variance which is killing me. Whether 60%, 70%, or 80% to win today I got my ass handed to me. My head is still spinning I love ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Moorman1 busts 8th at SCOOP FT Hey dude. Moorman took a really bad hit to his stack some time before so he was probably a little tilty at that point. Who wouldn't be. Plus the fact that he's regularly aggressive, it's a bad recipe for overplaying your hand. To assume the other guy is a bad player is a little judgemental cause he afterall did make it to the final table. But He's probably noticed moorman taking a hit a while back and that maybe the game was wearing on moorman so he decided to take a chance with his ace. I don't know if you were watching any of the earlier action but the last two tables ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Teaches you everything you should know about bankroll management, the challenges of becoming a professional player as well as the rewards. I've actually read it twice, it was so informative. Re:did i really play the river that awful ??????? but as for getting there on the river, it would be hard to lay it down when the only thing that can beat you is a backdoor flush. but OMG's bet should have set off alarm bells so if you did anything, just calling would have been the most, not re-raising, but I don't think I could get away without at least a call. Re:did i really play the river that awful ??????? Re:did i really play the river that awful '''''''....... Um wtf were you doing on the flop in the first place reraising with a gut shot. Poker King raised on the flop properly trying to make anyone pay for hitting a draw. he then checked not feeling 100% confident in his hand on the turn but with a great draw and top pair he was feeling good about his hand. Omg was a total donk calling with just mid pair a raise and re-raise hoping to "get lucky" but hell at that point looked like you were "hoping to get lucky" too. Go to RakeBackNation They handled it for me when I needed Rake.Back from FullTilt. email them and tell them the situation. They're always helpful and make it seem easy. You may need to tell the poker site how important it is to your poker career that you receive rack otherwise you'll be forced to play at other sites. But RBNation will help you on how to do this.
