WSOP event 2 info I got into vegas at 8 and after settling into my place I headed over to the RIO to check out the atmosphere and get my pre-registrations squared away. FYI: At 11 pm they had 1275 registered for Event #2 starting on Tuesday. The cashier told me that they were told they would have room for 2700, but she said not to hold her to that...last year there was 2300, so you can be confident that capacity will be between 2300 and 2700. You need to have a total rewards card to register...so it makes it difficult for someone to register for you unless they have your total rewards card. Considering the ... Re(1): 1.5K WSOP seat from FTP, seem strange? Assuming the event doesn't fill up to capacity, you should have no problems registering with the entry chips on the morning of the tournament. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): WSOP event 2... 1500 NLH It filled up last year, although they were taking signups as alternates the day of the event. If you believe there to be an increase in popularity of poker over last year you have to believe that the event will top 2200 registrants and at some point it will fill up...if they hold the registration down to 2200 (or in that vicinity) there's no way it goes past 3 days. PR Promotion and PR Problems This promotion from Poker Room looks great, except for my concerns with their site (which comes from information I received here). In April I took all my money out of Poker Room for 2 major reasons: 1. It was reported on this site that they knowingly allowed people to multi-account in their tournaments. This was done by having accounts on their many skins. If this is not true I hope someone will correct me. 2. Their site was hacked into and it took a good deal of time for them to get the site back and for their reps to come forward and explain the situation. I understand that the hacker ... Re(1): Event #2 seat assignments They must not be completely ready yet. They should give you a seat assignment when you register, but their system may not be ready until June 25th when they officially open with satellite play. So you'll probably have to go back and show them your receipt...Unless of course they're doing things completely different from last year and all the circuit events (which I doubt). Re(1): I HATE THIS GAME!!!! Come on GB...we all go cold...and usually on a regular basis. I don't know if this will help, but here's a few of the tricks I try to break out of a slump: 1. Switch sites and games. If cash games are bad, focus on sit & gos and tourneys...go to the sites I'm not losing and keep switching until one gets hot. 2. Take a break. It never hurts to take a few days off. 3. Trick myself into thinking I'm actually winning by getting a check from Neteller. Everyone has slumps...I'll go a month of riding an elevator and then boom, make a huge killing. You'll get out of it. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Stars 1 million in two weeks.....anyone notice? This probably has something to do with the wsop...everyone who plays in the wsop is someone who would normally play the big online tourneys, but won't due to wsop events. This summer no site will meet guarrantees if they don't make some changes. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Harrah's Las Vegas Poker Room Last time I was there the room had only 5 or 6 tables going (at peak time)...fairly low limits (.5 1 nl, 1 - 2 nl, 2 -4, 3-6 limit). But there are games all over town to suit your needs. Harrah's is in the middle of the strip if you're staying there, so you can go and play just about anywhere. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Question about the WSOP Once you register, you can just buy in at cage...I'm guessing the first $1500 event fills up, so if you are planning on playing that you should show up at least 1 day early. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

WSOP Preliminary Event Satellites What sites are running preliminary event satellites' I know of Bodog and Full Tilt, but those satellites are only for $1500 events and there aren't that many $1500 events (10), and once you schedule 2 or 3 it's difficult to schedule more due to possible conflicts if you make it past Day 1 or Day 2 of the previous event. Does anyone know of any sites running or will be running satellites to $2000, $2500, and $5000 events' sonofred Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Congressman Barney Frank to interview on Podcast! Representative Frank is a tough politician and a great ally to have. I know he's very liberal (I'm a Republican), but he's one of the sharpest guys there is and is resilient. I'm very happy to know that this is an issue he feels is important enough to speak about. Re(3): Just a though about WSOP Does stars let you use a main event win for preliminary events if it's your first win' I was always led to believe that you HAVE to use your first win. I know that this is the case with Bodog, Full Tilt, UB, and Party. Email sent...It would be nice to have as many events paid for prior to showing up in Vegas, but 1 table satellites run non-stop there and last year they let you use the $1000 mega satellites to pay for other events if you already had your main event seat paid for...plenty of opportunities after you arrive. sonofred Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): UB I write this to be constructive. I play both the cash games and the tourneys at UB. I love the site and have had very few if any problems. The only tourneys I usually play are those that have buyins of $100 or more...and unless I have a serious commitment, I never miss the tourneys of 200 or more. It will be a shame to see the Wednesday 200 and Sunday 500 tourneys go away. I myself would like to see more of them and also to see $1000 sats to the wsop held more often.
