Re:I can't believe I'm writing this... I'm 30 also and made a similar change in habits about 10 months ago. Initially, I cut all fast food, pop, red meat,... just your basic junk. After a few months of real hardcore dieting, I went back to the occasional pop, fast food meal, greasy burger, etc. Once you get into a routine, and just an overall healthier lifestyle, you can afford to "cheat" quite often. I went from 210 to about 175 in the first 6 months. The last few months, the weight has leveled out (low around 170) as i've replaced fat with muscle. If he came out firmly against this bailout BS which just so happens to be loaded with pork projects(supposedly what he stands firm against), I think you'd see some dramatically different polling numbers at the moment. You can count me as a voter who planned to never come out for McCain, but would do anything to avoid a new USSA under Obamanation. He's so deeply buried now, it's almost beyond belief. Re:I know a guy who slings real estate and he just sent this out. Tons of pics of a really neat home. I'm an architect... and that house looks like it was designed by a 3rd year student at best. There is some really attrocious/confused use of materials and detail work in this house. The "theme" or "style" itself is tacky as hell, and I can only imagine the type of douchebag personality that would have the money for/or want to live in a carnival like that. He was told by American doctors that there was nothing they could do for him, and that he would certainly be dead within 12 months of his diagnosis... and that any type of treatment they could give him would only lessen the quality of whatever time he had left. He went on a very strict diet, mainly vegetable juice... carrots, beets, romaine lettuce.... all kinds of shit. Re(2): need advice about getting in shape cardio cardio cardio! The best advice is to work in to this slowly. If you burn yourself out, you're more likely to give up on it. Start by walking on a treadmill. If you're 300 lbs and come in thinking that you need to jog/run, you're very mistaken. It's amazing how much a person can sweat and get there heart rate up walking 2 miles on an 8-9% incline... all with very little stress to an out of shape body. Steadily increase your walking distance every few days if you can, and split up your workouts to early a.m. and 30 minutes after dinner. After a week or so, your body will be ready for ... Re(3): Who is afraid to fly? I've been on over 50 flights, and for the most part I don't get scared easily. But...On one of my first flights, I was about 10 out of PHX. We weren't more than 10 seconds into the air after takeoff, we hit some type of "air pocket" where I guess the oxygen/fuel combination isn't sufficient... and the jet literally felt like it was dropping out of the sky for a split second. I remember my ass coming off the seat, and my stomach making its way up to my throat, and everyone letting out a collective, terrified scream. I'll never forget that feeling. I've never understood people's fascination with prescription meds, and have only taken them very sparingly my entire life. 4 wisdom teeth pried from my jawbone was enough for me to justify getting through about 1/2 of my perscription of hydro-codone.
