Re:Complete Recap and Review of NBC's Poker After Dark from Last Week 3/15 - 3/19
Could they play any more nitty on this show' Chris Ferguson was literally embarrassing himself by not playing seven deuce for 300 bucks, I heard he makes 100 million a year on Full Tilt. HSP is 10 times better even though it got dramatically worse this season. PAD, what a joke. Not fun.

Re:Poker After Dark
This is what I'm talking about. Dont the producers of the show know that unless they get sick gamblers like Matusow and Hansen on the show that an SNG is just plain boring. It's like watching robots play. Who wouldn't rather watch Dwan bluff check raise on the river for 100k instead of watching Mark Gregorich check down AJ to the river on a A25 rainbow flop and getting sucked out on the river. Boooooringgggggg. Also if Ali Nejad was not on TV and he was instead just a dude sitting at your 2/5 table at the Venetian you would really find him annoying, dont kid yourself. Let's ...

Re:Poker After Dark
Well I didnt want to say anything about that. Negreanue (sp') can be a bit feminine as well. But he was definitely amped up and over excited you could just tell he was really nervous and was trying way too hard. PAD should sit him down and tell him to chill out. I'm sure Kaplan and Lederer like Ali but definitely would have liked it if he chilled out a little bit. Put yourself in there shoes if some guy was constantly chattering during an SNG that you were playing in and saying unfunny things it would be annoying. What makes the show interesting with older or established pro's is ...

Re:Poker After Dark
No not true at all. I like Ali and think he does a "great job" as the commentator on the regular show. I also liked him when he did the old ultimate bet Poker show that used to be on and the NBC heads up. I think he is actually a really good commentator and funny when he commentates. He cracks me up. BUT, as soon as he came on camera on PAD last night I could tell he was just trying way to hard to be funny and get air time and it just wasn't working at all. I dont know any other way to explain it but it wasn't a standard flow of conversation it was as if he was trying to ...

Re:Poker After Dark
PAD had some awesome cash games with Durr crushing and Helmuth blowing up and getting sucked out on. Ivey, Hansen, etc. It was awesome. Why do they keep going back to this stupid SNG format. No one wants to watch a 6 person SNG. It's lame.

Poker After Dark
Does anyone else think PAD should move to a strictly cash game formate like HSP. Watching a 6 person sit and go with a bunch of NITS like Lederer, Kaplan, and Scott is just not entertaining on any level. Also, does anyone else think that Ali Nejad is really annoying on camera. He seems to be trying to develop an on camera personality and be entertaining but hes not funny on camera and it seems like he's trying wayyyy too hard. The champagne toast to Joe Sebok was absolutely embarrasing for everyone involved. I will add that I think Ali does a really good job as commentary. He's ...

Re:How many of you think grinding MTTs is a waste?
Your crazy if you think you can't find a high quality of life + extremely high paying job. I know people who make close to seven figures a year and play golf twice a week in the summer as well and aren't doctors or lawyers and didnt go to ivy league. The college degree gets you entry into the world of business like it or not, its the only way for an employer to say "hey this person has proved that they have to raw material to potentially be a good employee". Consider it as your entry ticket to the higher level business community. Once you get in and start getting ...

How many bad beats are common in a row?
Enter text here.*thread moved to Bad Beats forum by P5s Moderator* I've been playing some tournaments and have lost the last 5 all ins, haven't won one yet here they are, all are preflop all ins: 44 vs 36 AA vs QJ A7 vs K10 AJ vs A8 JJ vs Q10 I'm just wondering if this is common for most people to lose this many flips of this nature or perhaps even more. It certainly makes poker discouraging that you can run like this and potentially much worse right. So volume must come in to play. But its not like you play these huge field tournaments every day for most people who arent full ...

This is not what I'm saying though. The rule would only be in effect for preflop allins. Any regular hands that are called and there is a flop would be played as normal.

Re:Hypothetical poker question...
Sorry dude, one more time here we go (thanks for at least trying to answer the question by the way): Let's say you had the ability to change the rules of poker permanently, yes just you yourself. Would you be willing to instate a rule that in any hand that you are playing if you hold a pocket pair preflop and your opponent holds a pocket pair preflop and the money goes all that the person with the higher pocket pair will automically take the chips and win the pot. There will be no cards dealt hence allowing the other person to potentially suck out and hit a set or some crazy hand to ...

Re:Hypothetical poker question...
Here's the scenario: You have a pocket pair and your opponent has a pocket pair. Preflop you get the money all in. Would you be willing to have the rule being that once the cards are turned over on an allin, the person with the higher pair AUTOMATICALLY wins the hand ie. no cards are dealt. I would agree to this in a heartbeat, and wondering if others would as well.

Re:Hypothetical poker question...
This is certainly not always the case but I would love to see the statistics on how many times i turn an overpair over versus an underpair when both are holding pp's. That being said preflop would you be willing to automicatically win or lose the hand once cards are turned over. This is only on allins preflop by the way, not hands where a flop is dealt.

Hypothetical poker question...
Would you trade the ability suck out and hit a two outer with an underpair on someone for the ability for your opponent to do it in the reverse position' I would in a heartbeat. I feel like people hit two outer's with underpairs much more than I have ever sucked out on anyone and I would gladly lose the hand automatically without even having the cards dealt for the same in return when my opponent turns over an underpair to my pair. Just wondering if others shared this opinion if asked. Thanks. fyi, lost to quads twice today with all the money in preflop with an overpair to an ...

Avoiding shortstacks in cash games?
Does anyone else avoid playing tables with shortstacks in 6 player NL HE. I find them annoying and just looking to gamble which to a better player is something they probably want to avoid since they have an edge. I was wondering if other players try to avoid them as well.

Vanessa Rousso will be one of the judges on the new reality gameshow Bank of Hollywood on E starting December 14th. I was able to attend taping of the show and it was pretty hilarious. Vanessa was really cool and even gave me an impromtu poker tournament lesson, definitely a really cool person. Try to check out the show if you get a chance, Vanessa talks a lot about poker on and how it relates to her thought process on the show, pretty interesting.

No this is exactly the wrong methodology. Who decides who's being a dick or not, Lee Jones', or the customer service rep' If you give them the ability to offer less service to people who piss them off what side do you think they will tend to gravitate too' Whats consider being a dick' Yelling at the customer service rep swearing' or what about just being direct and demanding your rights as a customer' Training customer service people on how to diffuse, calm, and disarm a pissed off customer is one thing, but giving them the right to shut down on a paying customer because they dont like ...
