Easiest game(s) to multi-table?
OK...for those of you who play 15-24 games at once, what are your game(s) of choice' Here's my problem: If I play 1-4 tables of NL cash games, I'm OK...too many more than that and I get rushed into decisions and more often than not, make the wrong ones. So what's your mega-multi-tabling pleasure' Limit HE' O8' Triple-Draw' Sit n gos' What are the hows and whys of what you do' Thanks, Jason aka sportsfntc

Trying to improve at NL -- need pre-flop advice
Hi all... I'm making a conscious effort to try to improve at NL cash games this year. I'm playing full-ring, mostly .05/10 or .10/25 and at 100BB buy-ins (I tried short-stacking and it felt like the late stages of a tournament all the time...ugh). Anyway, I've noticed a couple of flaws...1) Calling too many river bets because I'm not trusting my instincts (I'm starting to get better there) and 2) my pre-flop play is currently in a shambles. Here's the short of it... I do like to open a fair amount of pots w/a wide variety of hands to keep people guessing. The problem is...I get three-bet ...

Any US players on Poker Nordica?
Better since they picked up Sportsbook and PlayersOnly -- small site but they've picked up lately. Business is double what it was two years ago.

Curse the day I ever read a bankroll management article
Yeah I know the players have gotten better -- the $25 buy-in compared to $100-200 was for cash games, not tournaments. But for tournaments I've played the cheapo ones too, only because I didn't "physically" have the $$ on the sites. It's funny...I can take $800 to a poker trip no problem...but when I see that I have $500-$700 online I have been playing the cheapo tournaments, all in the name of "bankroll management" -- and I've even cashed out for over $3K over the past 12 months. So, maybe I should just take a shot at some bigger ones and if I lose, oh well....I'll still be even for 2010.

Curse the day I ever read a bankroll management article
Hi... I've been playing almost seven years now...never had a losing year (a miracle because I'm not a great cash game player, especially limit -- NL I'm decent). I'm not a pro nor do I care to be one. I have plenty to do to make a living and I've always looked at poker as a nice, little, profitable hobby. The first 3-4 years, I did quite well for this "hobby". Then, the UIGEA came and figuring it would be tougher to get $$ in and out, I wanted to preserve what I had. So, I started reading bankroll management articles. I did the prudent thing, dropped down in limits and MTT buy-ins, and ...

Thanks everyone...ended up going to Northern Quest. Was going to play the tourney but it was $45 for guys and $25 for BS. I ended up playing the 3/6 and walked away $70 richer. So I'm happy...limit hold 'em is my worst game but tonight went well. Thanks again!

Re:Latest poker conversation with my wife
LOL that's the one thing my wife doesn't like either. Especially when I go ballistic over losing a $10 pot or something...then she really looks at me sideways... and yes, I can lose $100-200 in a casino and not even blink. But $10 online I get upset sometimes...stupid, I know.

Latest poker conversation with my wife
After a bumpy ride in the cash games the past couple of days, my lovely wife suggested I stick to sit n' gos today. So I did. The resulting conversation went something like this: Me: I played 12 sit n gos today and made about $35 Her: Good! Me: Yeah, kind of... Her: You don't seem too happy Me: Well, I was playing $5-10-20 ones Her: Oh, I see...you were playing the kiddie games....what were you doing playing the $5 ones' Nothing like a spouse encouraging me to move up in the world!!! The conversation continued.... Her: Do some wives actually hate it when their husbands play ...

What is the best "back to basics" game?
Hi all... Another open-ended question. If you are trying to get back to basic fundamentals, what is the best game to play in your opinion' I'm not concerned about the limits as I don't play high enough for it to matter that much...just want this forum's opinions on what is the best game to play. Thanks, Jason

Is it even worth it to try to get better at cash games?
Hi all... This is a bit of a ramble but this board is always good for advice, even with my semi-dumb questions sometimes, so here goes: I've been playing recreationally for six years now...and w/out getting into $$ amounts, here are my ROIs MTTs +60% SNGs +12% NL Cash Games +3% PL Cash Games -1% Limit Cash Games -1% I have played more limit than NL (not so much the past year) so my overall cash game ROI is actually -0.25% (just a slight loss) Now, I keep hearing/reading that cash games are where you get better. I've spent way more time in cash games than tournaments even though ...

Is it really worth it to be able to play mutliple games?
Hi all... Another open-ended question: When it comes to no-limit tournaments, sit 'n' gos and cash games I'm ahead lifetime in all three with a decent ROI (+20%). When it comes to limit and pot-limit games, my ROI is -less than 1%. However, I feel like I basically suck at those games even though I haven't lost that much at them. I know the talk about how one should try to become versatile in all of the games. But I'm not an aspiring pro nor will I ever be. I like to think I'm slightly ahead of the total recreational player but that's it. So at what point ...
