Help Beat Bob Goodlatte
Bob Goodlatte, our arch nemesis as Internet Poker Players, is the Republican from the VA 6th District. He is literally Enemy #1 when it comes to Internet poker, makes Senator Kyl look like our friend. Since 1998, Bob Goodlatte has not had a Democratic Opponent. For the first time in 10 years, there is a legitimate opponent to Goodlatte. His name is Sam Rasoul. He is a young guy who is also running a noble campaign. However because he wont take PAC money or money from any lobbyists, Goodlatte is out raising him by a bunch. Internet Poker Players, you can make a difference. Consider making a ...

Re:congrats Plattsburgh
Congrats Platts. As someone who might have some experience in the Internet Poker Industry that few others can relate to, I think you are very deserving of this. Hope you enjoy it and continue to show the phenomenal improvement that you have shown over the past years since our first broke ass trip to WSOP, crashing at the Circus Circus Manor. Hope to see your name being congratulated many more times in the future. And remember everyone, Vote this November. Spudd

Todays Hearing on Internet Gambling in the House Judiciary.
Sorry Guys, i am having trouble imbedding links right now because i am bleary eyed and my computer is acting up on me. But the hearing today was awesome. Annie Duke rocked, totally skewered our biggest opponent in the house, Rep Goodlatte, and Rep Cohen of TN came out of no where to make the Family Research Council guy look like a buffoon. I am just gonna direct everyone to the PPA website right now, on the main page to the left are great links to audio clips of most of the speakers, ( I recommend Rep Cohen Part 1 for pure entertainment value), as well as a link to the video of the entire ...

Re(7): Annie Duke - UB - and Congressional Hearing
Im Proud to have Annie Duke speaking on our behalf. If only 10% of poker players were as committed, through time and money spent and efforts and energy put into this cause, as Annie is to this fight, it wouldnt be a fight. Annie Duke isnt speaking tommorow as a rep of UB, she is speaking as a well known poker player representing all of us, and she will do an excellent job. Guilt by association doesnt hold much water, and bash a site all you want, but when you call out peoples names and there reputations, there better be some concrete proof that the person was involved.

An update from the PPA
This has been an exciting week for poker and I have several items of good news to report. First, I am pleased to announce that Rep. John Conyers (MI) Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee has agreed to co-sponsor H.R. 2046, the Skill Game Protection Act. Further, his Committee officially announced today that they are holding a hearing next week (Nov. 14th) to discuss Internet gaming issues. Both of these considerable achievements can be in a large part credited to our grassroots fly-in from just two weeks ago. During the fly-in we had more than one occasion to meet with the Chairman and ...

Re(3): What the PPA is doing in Mass. Today, and how you can help as a Mass Resident
I disagree Rube, we are already getting feedback from state senators and reps who will oppose this because they cant agree with criminalizing online poker for the players, and that sentiment is gaining momemtum. The more noise we make, the harder it will be for this bill to pass with this piece in it. It is a battle we can win. So People in Mass. send in letters, call your local state rep and state senator, and call your governor!! Bryan Spadaro Membership Relations, Manager Poker Players Alliance

What the PPA is doing in Mass. Today, and how you can help as a Mass Resident
As many of you have heard, the Governor of Mass. has proposed a bill to make online gambling a class III Felony in Mass. punishable by up to 2 years in jail. If you are from Massachusetts, Here is how you can help stop this, Bryan Spadaro Membership Relations, Manager Poker Players Alliance Greetings Massachusetts PPA Members: My name is Randy Castonguay and I am your Massachusetts Representative for the Poker Players Alliance. Recently, Governor Deval Patrick proposed a bill (H.4307, click here to read) that seeks to expand casino gambling in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This ...

Charity Event in the DC Area, Will Give away a 2008 MAIN EVENT SEAT!!
Hey, just wanted to let everyone in the DC, MD, No VA area know about an upcoming event. This is open to anyone who wants to play, PPA Member or not. I ll be there, some pros may be there, no guarantees, should be a great event. This event is open to people 21 and above, and if you decide to attend, it is business attire, ie a suit and tie for anyone not sure what that means. Dear Fellow PPA Member: I am proud to offer to you and other DC-area PPA members a unique and exciting opportunity. Re(3): LOL, AP on MSN
I have to say, as being here in washington involved in this, AP has barely come up, and if it has, it has been spun as a benefit why making it illegal and pushing it underground is the worst possible outcome for americans, because of cheating that can occur when fringe operators are the only options for players.

Thoughts on an interesting statistical anomaly?
So, i dont play many sit n goes, but i was trolling sharkscope for fun, and looked at my stats. And I happened to check my ROI by days of the week. And i was kinda shocked by what i saw. I play alot of those 180 man 20$ sit n goes, and happened to just take one down an hr ago today, which is a thursday. So without that result yet in, MY ROI for monday tues weds and saturdays are roughly +23%, +26%, +10% and +15%. My losing days, Friday and Sunday are -25% and -30% respectively. However on thursdays, i am roughly +180% ROI. I mean the sample is small, only 1106 games, spread out pretty evenly ...

Also the Void chopped with Kasino, they did a 150k save remember, so he would know he only got 1.2 mill seized, hence that post looks even more bogus, which sucks that someone is printing bogus sources on a blog of the NYT.

Suggestion to Pokerstars for WCOOP Next Year
If we can agree that the WCOOP is the premier online tournament series, The live version of the WSOP as you will, I think it is time that it is treated with the respect it deserves. I have been so frustrated trying to watch replays, and in some of them, there isnt even one player with his hole cards up. I would like to see a stipulation, that in registering for a WCOOP event, you enter a biding agreement that your hole cards at the final table will be shown when the replay is shown. The WSOP does this for every event, regardless of tv tables or not, in filming the table, and it sure hasnt ...
