The other thing I will say is that the reason why this hand is interesting is because the opponent has some hands in his range that he is raising for value and betting river for value that we have beat. Not a ton, but enough to make it somewhat relevant. Hence, some peoples are correctly apprehensive about just folding turn. This is the reason why I bring up the king on the river. His timing, coupled with his bet sizing, gives us one more piece of the puzzle on the river that allows us to (hopefully) correctly fold.

I think a lot of you are missing a really important point, that being, the K on the river is not a blank. Remember that vs. a random, from his perspective, it is in your range more often than it is in his. To him, that king is somewhat of a scare card if he has two pair. In fact, I think anyone with a7, a9 (although not likely) or a10 will take some extra time on the river because lab has ak here a lot (in their mind). In other words, the king makes folding the river a lot easier if he bets fast because he is not worried about it. So I guess my question is, lab, how fast did he bet' Did it ...

I folded river. Found out later he had k7 for a flopped two pair. I decided to fold for all said reasons and one reason which has yet to be discussed. The jack on the river is actually a pretty good card for me to semi-confidently fold my hand because, all things being equal, I have a jack in my range more than my opponent. I can get to the river with a kj or jj more often than he can, as well as 910. So, I felt that a second broadway card was a bad card for him to continue his bluff, if he was bluffing. What if he proceeds to shove a flush draw or a straight draw (or the same hand, for that matter)' Incomplete information in holdem' makes raising for info an awful decision because he could proceed with worse (for a number of crazy reasons). 10k main - 20k starting stacks. playing 8 handed with 2 ppl who haven't arrived yet, including the sb in following hand. Reads on the table include: cutoff is young Australian player who is wearing a anzpt pokerstars hat, chatting it up. he sounds competent. button is another kid with fohawk and cooler looking black glasses. may or may not be australian sb is not there bb is 30-40 yr old quiet australian ----------------------------------------- I open AKo in hijack to 275, cutoff flats, button makes it 850. folds to me.
