Re:Moon questions Kopp's Play If you think stacking off there with a Q high flush is a profitable long term expectation, you're out of your mind. Don't give the "look at how many chips he has" argument and base the correctness of the decision on that. It's the friggin main event on the final table bubble-with the exception of Scotty Nguyen, have you ever seen anyone spew their chips away in that spot' Millions of dollars are at stake, and the only person who was comfortable being there at the time was Ivey(maybe Shulman). People are 100% not getting out of line, and to call that fast with QJdd is ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Turn spot in 150r...what's my best option? Call me a nit, but I think c/f is best on the turn here. I think you're chopping at best and there's a good chance he's freerolling on you if he has an ace. I think he shows up with a set here often enough to warrant a fold. I'm not sure of his competency level, but your c/r on the flop has to look ridiculously strong to someone with half a brain, yet he bets huge on the turn(which leads me to believe this is a set more often than an ace with a redraw). Check calling turn is just putting you in an awful spot regardless of what rivers and I just don't see him folding here ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:who is this Richard AUSTIN guy? I love the rampant speculation in this post! Richard is a super nice guy, but would rather make his money without the world knowing, unlike most tournament players. The guy flat out crushes PLO. His refusing the interview was surely nothing more than shyness and fear. Let the guy be for now, but I'm sure you'll be hearing more from him in the future. Re:Better poker player: Dwan or Ungar This is a really stupid thread. Are we assuming Ungar would've been playing for the last 5 or so years durinig the poker boom or is this Dwan's game vs. Stu's game 15 years ago' Either way, I think people are annointing Dwan a bit too early-the guy's only been around for a few years and we're talking about Ungar, who most of the best players of the past 30 years say was the best ever. Re:Phil Galfond--naturally smarter Think of the best 10 players in the world(obviously open to interpretation and opinion) and tell me one of them who you may think to be below average intelligence. Top notch poker playing is a combination of brains, balls, and situational/opposition analysis. In order to property analyze a situation and act upon it, you must have the first two things on that list. I would love to see the psychological profiles and IQ reports on the likes of Negreanu, Ivey, Cunningham, Tran, Hellmuth, Benyamine, Dwan, Galfond, etc. I bet some of their IQ's are off the charts and all are well above ... Re:Hand from FTOPS 5k 6-max I think it depends upon how much you had 3 and 4 bet over the past few hours in the tournament. If it hadn't been much, I'd say his range to call here is really narrow-probably 77+ and AQ+. If you had been playing really aggro, his range is huge. I played with Brandon in the WSOP this year and he was crazy aggro, but had lots of chips. There's a really good chance he has air here and he has plenty of fold equity. Based upon what you said, I'd prob ship. Calling is worst option pre imo. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Horseshoe WSOP Circuit in Indiana $550 event ( brag) + Did I make a good deal? Not a terrible deal, but definitely not a good one. If you chopped it up like Stars does with chip counts(both of you get 2nd place money and the rest is divided by chip equity), then you would've gotten $36k. If the guy wasn't a good player, then there's no way in hell I'd take this deal. If he was good, then I'd consider it if he let you sign tax forms for 2nd place money. The ring is a moot point imo and is probably only worth $300 or so. So so, but not good. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Kentucky moving to seize PokerStars.com It's funny, but it's how it works. A friend of mine worked as an assistant to the governor a few years back and the day after he was elected, they had a meeting to start the re-election campaign. As long as they can maintain their image with the general public and keep money coming in, everything is a-ok. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Kentucky moving to seize PokerStars.com Everyone is ignoring the fact that this is a self-serving move on Beshear's part. He wants the casinos in Kentucky and the gaming companies contributed money to his campaign fund. Whenever a politician is elected, their immediate concern is doing all that they can do to stay in office and get re-elected. So, he would like to remain on they payroll for Harrahs, MGM, etc. This is the best way to keep them happy and keep the money flowing in. It's all a big racket. Beshear could give a shit about the average Kentucky citizen. Whenever he says something to the effect of internet gaming ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:cooler or easy fold? (100r) Agree to disagree. I'm going to try and find a much better spot for my money than praying that he overshoved AJ or AT and stacking off with only 400 in the pot. The pokerstove calculations are fine, but there's more to it than numbers. You're not even close to panic mode with your stack-why risk most of it here when you really don't know what you're up against' I'd say villain's range is 22+, AJ+ and maybe KQ. You can beat exactly two of those hands. Just my opinion. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
