Re(1): RALLY FOR POKER ON THE BOSTON STATE HOUSE STEPS I'll be there with my wife and daughter. I figure a live civics lesson will be much more interesting/educational than anything she'll learn in Kindergarten that day. I live in Western Mass so its a 2 hour drive for me. I hope lots of other people get there! Posted in: Poker Legislation |

Re(1): Did you start writing politicians and making campaign contributions b/c your love of poker? I've written to my local and federal legislators as well as participating in the phone lobbying days set up by the PPA. If you aren't actively trying to make the change that you want then you have no right to complain. This is true for any issue you're passionate about, not just poker. Posted in: Poker Legislation |

Re(1): MA Bill Seeks To Criminalize Online Poker This article is in the globe today. Internet gambling is a target of Patrick bill Casino initiative makes it illegal Email|Print| Text size – + By Matt Viser Globe Staff / November 10, 2007 Even as Governor Deval Patrick seeks to license three resort casinos in Massachusetts, he hopes to clamp down on the explosion in Internet gambling by making it illegal for state residents to place a bet on line. He has proposed jail terms of up to two years and $25,000 fines for violators. The provision, buried deep in Patrick's bill to allow three casinos to the state, puts the governor at ... Re(1): MA Bill Seeks To Criminalize Online Poker I just finished meeting with my State Representative John Scibak. He says he has received many emails and that he has heard his fellow state reps have as well. He is on the comittee that the bill will go through, the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies. He as well as many members of this comittee are opposed to putting casinos in Massachusetts which would mean this bill could just die even though the govenor seems to be pushing hard. His comittee could also conceivably just remove the language as it pertains to internet gambling and he said he would consider ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): I don't think i have the mental fortitude for MTTs The Poker Mindset by Mathew Hilger was helpful for me and I would say is a good investment, or maybe you should stick to cash games for the most part. I've been much happier since I made the switch from tourney player to cash game player. My sessions are shorter and the payoff much more consistent. Now when I play the occasional tourney I really enjoy it (though I have lost the feel I had for it when I play more regularly). Other suggestions people had which I thought were good were to play more sng's and just play a different game altogether like Omaha or Razz. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Cash Game Tell?Anyone experiance this as much as me. I think it's often true of weaker players but not reliable for multitablers. I find it to be an additional bit of information to make a decision with but wouldn't put a lot of credence in it. The corallary to this tell is a long pause before a bet or raise often means very strong, but again it's just an additional piece of the puzzle. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(7): 4 tabling 2-4 limit full ring/short handed versus 4 tabling 50NL full/short handed Shorthanded LHE is the action game. If you are playing 3 tables you are seeing about 300 hands/hour and you can profitably play about a 3rd of them where you often get to make a decision on every street. i find it more interesting then NL cash games and if u are comparing 2/4 LHE with $50NLHE you will make far more playing LHE. If you are good. I'll let someone else speak to NLHE since it has been a while since I've played. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): 4 tabling 2-4 limit full ring/short handed versus 4 tabling 50NL full/short handed A strong 2/4 LHE player at the 6max tables will do much better on an hourly basis than this. Averaging 2bb/100 or even more is definitely possible at this level for a strong player. It is more difficult to quad table 6max LHE IMO so I tend to 2-3 table. Factoring in this return plus rakeback and bonus clearing and you can make upwards of $25 to $30/hour. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): Online Pro's, advice needed. Find what your best at and develop that skill first. If you are beating cash games solidly then stick with those as you build your roll. It's good to play the other forms of poker as well but decide what your bread and butter is, especially until you build a roll. MTT's were a huge drain on my bankroll early in my career as you need a deep finish to justify playing them. Playing smaller fields gives you a better chance of getting a decent score. Grinding SNG's can be monotonous and requires a lot of tilt control when things go badly. All of these can be quite profitable but focus first on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
