mtt players check raising rivers
not sure about this -- I mean if you have AT/AK, is he really going C/R worse two pair on the river' Dunno what % of the time the C/R is a bluff but it has to be a multiple of the # of times he C/R the river for value with KT or the like.

early 1k turbo
What do we know about the villain' From what I know I think you're looking at JJ or 99 but of course maybe TT or something goofy. Obv you'd feel a lot better if there were a flush draw out there. I bet you pushed and lost to 99 and now maybe you feel like it was obvious but that's too results oriented or w/e, i think. I bust here but you probably know the villain better and maybe you pitched it.

c-bet or not? how much
I probably bet there, check sometimes based on player/feel (like if guy is really stubborn or really floaty/tough, esp. if table is offering you lots of better spots) . I bet most flops I connect with and check-raise sometimes on dry ace- or K-high, again depending on player. You should also consider C/R on some flops you miss though this is not a great candidate because it's pretty moist.

Spot from last night's FTP 150k
Seems sensible (and that's what I did) but I feel like maybe there's enough here to veer away from the default play -- here we have a big stack on heater who i think feels like it's time to play back at me, plus I just felt like he was weak for whatever *Blink* (M. Gladwell) type reasons. Looking for insight on how much you lean on minor dynamics and feel -- I feel like I don't lean on them enough. I don't know how you guys get up for your day jobs every day -- i've been playing a lot this week and i am completely shot.

Spot from last night's FTP 150k
Gentlemen (and the odd female): First off, some great stuff in this forum and congrats to you all on your MTT accomplishments; though I am not worthy, I would like your thoughts on this hand. I don't have the HH but it was as follows: 12 left in FTP $150k (nightly 8pm) so table was 6 handed. I am UTG with ATo have about 400k at 6k-12k (1k antes) and am below average; table image should be pretty solid but an important fact is that last time UTG i raised and took the blinds, and I think I raised from same spot 2 orbits before that as well, so BB may be looking to play back at me. BB is well ...

what do you do here deep in the Sunday Warm up
This except that seems like a lot to 3bet if he has QQ KK AA so if u want to talk yourself into it, you can discount those 3 hands or at least AA KK. I probably push because you said you raised 3 times UTG already and because he appears to be experienced....

Set-up: about 50 left in Stars 150k. All I know about the Villain is that he was the early chip leader and that he's from Russia. I just moved to this table. Question to the PROS: How many MTTs do you play in a day?
I think there's a case to be made for playing fewer and focusing more (wasn't/isn't that what gboro advocates') but I am sure the real regulars have analyzed it fully and have determined the lost per-table value from mega-tabling is more than offset by the extra chances to score. I know some very successful regulars who only play like 10 a day, more on Sunday, and do other stuff (cash, SNGs) if they bust unusually fast. Some people just don't have time to play that kind of insane slate. More power to you if you can. (Stay single and childless) I am feeling better about even having a ranking ...

Annie Duke's open letter to PS about Daniel N.
I like Daniel for the most part, though i think being a vegan saps like 35% of the fun out of life. That being said, I think "f*cking c*nt" is pretty harsh and it's a classless douche move to drop a bomb like that on the woman because you think she's a little bit conflicted or hypocritical. You should pretty much reserve the c-word for women who cheat on you, steal from you, stuff like that, imo. He dropped an atomic bomb on an aspirin factory. You need to have some rhetorical reserves or great words like c*nt lose all of their impact when they are actually called for.

Are we ever good here' Well, yeah -- you're good there a lot of the time. Second hand, there's only discussion AT ALL because it's Manch and he's a bigger nut peddler than Mister Salty. Even against him, you can't do anything but get it in. btw Manch pwns [cyber]Vegas.

Re:Hand Ranges Discussion from the 150k guaranteed FT
Wein is the big winner for best screen name in the hand. Wow, that's a nice table you had there. I think you had like JJ and picked off a bluff here; if you did have JJ/QQ/AA or even AT, once u check-call the turn, it doesn't really make sense for you to throw in the towel when a king comes, as it's pretty unlikely that helps him. With your skills, I doubt you went with the "check-call turn and see what he does on the river" strategy (i am not a fan of that very often), and my guess is you decided at that point you were going to call with your overpair or ATs (or w/e) ...

Re:So now the French are leaving us in the dust,,,
Anyone know -- does that mean a 2% tax on the house's profits, or a 2% tax on "bets" (which is effectively a rake) as it states' A 2% additional rake could be prohibitative -- that's a lot to overcome with the house rake already in place, etc. They should just tax the sites. People will start reporting income more if they know the sites are regulated, so that would be an added tax windfall, i think....

Re:Poker as a Part Time Job
Related question, stunna: You (and I) have good results for part-timers but can you name 5 dominant MTT players who work full time' there used to be a lot but not anymore, i don't think. I doubt you can work full time, play decent volume, stay fit and have any kind of sex life, but good luck. We're all counting on you.

Re:Canadian Healthcare Ownz. Well, for Commoners...
Just an anecdote but.... One guy I work with blew out his knee around Christmas. He saw that Dr Andrews, who does a lot of the NFL guys' knees, was on United Healthcare so he called, made an appointment, flew to Alabama and had Andrews repair the knee. this guy makes about $50k per year. Total time from injury to surgery was like 3 weeks. 100% covered (we have health savings accounts -- it cost him zero dollars except the airplane ticket). He had his knee repaired in less than one month by arguably the most renowned ortho in the world, for free. Another guy i used to work with moved ...

Re:20c- Flatted by a world class MTTr....now what?
I like this thread. Good stuff -- been a while since i read a whole thread like this... FWIW, i know it happens but i'm generally surprised how rarely strong players like timex are going to bluff in that spot. check-calling + check-folding is of course a weak approach but you just aren't going to be ahead very often here (once he bets the turn) and I'm not sure there's a better line, as played preflop (which I no likey). I mean, i can count on one hand the number of times I can remember where a really good player gets caught 2 (or 3) barrelling in that spot by a player with ...

Re:Please meet BodogBecky :)
The #1 reason people don't play on bodog is no player-to-player transfers (and too hard to deposit). just fix that! Make it so there's a Poker Only type of account that does not allow sports betting transfers (if that's the issue). I used to love bodog and if you fix that, I'll be back. P.S. I lost my red bodog ipod from the 2006 WSOP gimme bag. Replacement' hmmmmm'
