miniftops hand vs an unknown Not sure how this would be a 'huge level'. I made a play that I wasn't sure if it was good so I asked a few ppl on my aim list and got mixed responses so I decided to post it on p5s and 2p2 to get the opinions of other players I respect but dont talk to regularly on aim like gags/marroca/pikappraider etc and I couldnt care less about the inevitable trolls flaming me so why not post'...I can always easily dismiss dumb responses about the hand like yours. Also, personally I dont like to keep poker simple because I enjoy poker less and dont win as much when im an autopiloting drone waiting to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

miniftops hand vs an unknown Had just latereg'ed like 2 orbits ago so no reads. I think when he doesnt c/r this flop really deepstacked the chance of him having sets and flushes diminishes significantly and the rest of his range is pretty weak (Ax,8x, pocket pairs with a diamond, one high diamond, straightdraws with a diamond) so I decided to barrel with the intention of firing 3 a decent amount. Anyways, whether you like or dislike the barrel plz comment on the hand as played anyway since the rest of the hand is more interesting. Re:HIGH STAKES: Adjusting from everyday mtts to Sunday majors to FTOPS/ Scoops Just use the 6 hours you can sit there with starting stack without playing a hand to wait for JJ+,AK and then watch as everyone else at the table spews off vs you anyway =) Srsly though, work on your stamina...work out etc and be fresh and focused to play for long periods of time. Also work on playing deepstacked, maybe practice by playing some cash. I have kinda had a lack of success in big series to and I attribute it to these factors. Oh and run good...that helps too. Re:slow rollin esther rossi hahaha I love how it went down pinishe45 calls 1,394 Esther Rossi shows [Ac 7c As Tc] Esther Rossi: best hand pinishe45 shows [6d Js Kd Jc] *** RIVER *** [3c Jd Jh Ad] [5h] Esther Rossi shows a full house, Aces full of Jacks pinishe45 shows four of a kind, Jacks pinishe45 wins the pot (5,508) with four of a kind, Jacks Esther Rossi: oh Its as if it were live poker and she says 'best hand' as she flips her cards over but before you show her the quads. In general I disapprove of slowrolls but if it was deserved this is pretty perfect timing and execution. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Quick Question about HUDs Don't think you can say holdem manager is the best period. I prefer pokertracker as do most people I know. Those two are definitely the industry leaders though. To answer the question of what a HUDs are; they are programs linked to hand tracking software that will overlay stats of how your opponents play on top of your tables while you are playing. You can choose which/how many stats to display for each player ranging from just the % of hands they play and how often they raise to how often they fold to a cbet, what their winrate is, how often they check/raise the river in a 3bet pot on a ... Re:How hard is 5/10 limit to beat? Pretty irrelevant sample size...he also wins more at 3/6 than 2/4, doesn't mean the game is softer. Agree that if you win at that rate you shouldn't stay playing those stakes for very long though. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:How hard is 5/10 limit to beat? I recently just played some limit for the first time and started at 5/10 after watching a couple of deucescracked vids. Its kinda reg infested but there were a lot of huge fish in my games too. Id guess if you're smart and a quick learner it wouldn't take you long to become a winner at 5/10 limit if you game select...idk about 2BB/100 though, thats a really high winrate. I noticed a big difference between 5/10 and 10/20 actually...i think a lot of the 30/60+ grinders play down to 10/20 just to get more hands in but very few drop as far down as 5/10 and i feel theres a decent amount of ... Re:Most difficult/strange/fortunate situation in which you won a tourney or big score Once registered for a full sunday of mtts and steps in san remo before the internet went out. Ran around italy with timex and sirwatts looking for somewhere with internet and eventually wound up buying a room for the night at some rando hotel just so they would let us use their wireless in the lobby. When i got back online i had like 1k chips left in a monte carlo step 6 which i then came back and won for an 18k package. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Variance If you play good and win it doesn't mean you haven't experienced variance since your winrate isn't 100% with any hand preflop. If you win aces vs kings you have run above expectation. Likewise when you play bad and lose you are still running below expectation. I always think its kinda funny when people get it in with like AT vs A5 and the board double pairs or w/e and they chop and then whine about it in the chat. Your equity in this situation is about 70% so chopping the pot and getting 50% of it is actually closer to your true expectation in the hand than winning it and getting ... Re:Do You Play Poker For a Living? For the right people poker is the best job in the world. I love it and feel very lucky to lead the life I do. That said it requires a very specific and somewhat rare mindset to truly succeed at. It's definitely not for most people but if you are in the position to give it a shot and if you should fail you can just get a regular job anyway, why not see if it is for you...you only live once.
