Fun $H!+ to do in vegas Hey all, I haven't posted in OT in awhile but I figured this would be a good forum to ask this question. What are some random fun things to do in Vegas' As it relates to me, I have had a miserable time the past couple summers that I have gone to the WSOP. I have focused mostly on poker and if I catch myself focusing on something else I get mad at my "lack" of dedication. your poker story yevgeni and i actually didn't get along. we were only 19 so we both had problems. i was kind of a hothead and drinking a lot. yevgeni was sort of socially awkward and you could tell that he had been spoiled as a kid. he beat me in a controversial game of pool for over 3 grand so that didn't help things either. he's definitely a sicko when it comes to poker though and i'm pretty sure he is a lot better socially now. i think he reminded me of some of my tendencies in junior high/high school that i had worked out, so i sort of singled him out and made fun of him for it. ofc i didn't know ... My WSOP Main Event quite the bump there^^ lol. he was a nice guy tho. def an old school live player type so it's always good to see those. sorry for getting lazy and not doing day 2. i started to but i had a lot of trouble remembering specifics for some reason then i got busy etc. i'll try to get back on it sometime soon because there were some interesting hands and a lil cash drama on day 4 as well. simple-ish spot that is kind of hard to play in wednesday 320 i don't think flatting is burning money and i don't think it sucks. we could lead or c/r missed flops as long as they are unlikely to hit his range. not to mention we could actually make a hand and we are getting a really good price to do so. villain is controlled and aggressive but i'm not afraid of being 3barreled with AQ with these stack sizes. if anything that prospect makes me happier for the implied odds of hitting an A or Q. as for 4b/folding i don't really like it. i think if we 4b/fold AQ we should 4b/fold a higher frequency of hands and if we are doing that then we should ... To me it looks like he doesn't want to flat and doesn't want to fold so he is deciding to take the initiative with some sub-prelim hand. ofc this read could be wrong and he is probably capable of making this raise with a strong hand but lets say our read is right then I am still unsure about how to proceed with the hand. idk what's best between get it in pre (by jamming or 4b/calling w/e) or flatting preflop. i kinda wanna be able to use my read that he is weak and i feel like shoving kinda lets him off the hook. on the other hand i would just be folding like 67s to ... Range question Deep in high roller i think gags' range is a weeee bit wide. not too far off tho and extremely hard to calculate for sure what his range should be since metsfan's tendencies are the biggest kicker. if he is ultra 2006 lol tight then phatcat should prob be weary of AJ here. if he is like 2012 tight but understands basic math and shoving ranges then it will be hard to fold A9s or AT or KQ or 66 or maybe even worse. sorry he sucked out on you with KJ =( Posted in: Poker Discussion	stpauli111 Sep 28th, 2012
Is it worth it to Cbet with air in early levels of MTT's? c-betting without thinking about board textures and the way the hand can develop is very bad. when i'm playing bad i've noticed my c-bets are apathetic, like i'm just going through the motions. when i'm playing well my cbets are very pointed. In the hand you described (which is a very general situation) I would be inclined to c/f. there are 4 cards we are up against and one of them probably has a pair or at least a decent draw. There aren't very many good turn cards to double barrel and while an ace or queen would be good turns they are infrequent and might be "false" good cards ... My WSOP Main Event Hey guys, I haven’t been active on pocketfives in a long time but the site has done a lot for my growth as a poker player. So I thought it would be good to give a little back. Staking Dispute Question and mr. blonde you are wayyy out of line. this is a serious matter involving a lot of money and op has every right to argue his case fully. action is swapped/purchased/sold ALL OF THE TIME between high stakes MTTers with just verbal bookings. people assume the money will get straightened out whenever. i mean i understand there are a couple of grey areas here but i think smokrok's line of credit exceeds 50$ lol.
