**49ers vs. Saints, 1/14/12, Candlestick Park, San Francisco** Brees on road: 70.6% completions, 4.8% TD, 2.2% INT, 8.0 YPA, 100.7 rating Smith at home: 62.7% completions, 5.7% TD 1.4% INT, 7.8 YPA, 99.8 rating Interesting stat I read today about Brees and Smith this year. I don't really have a feel for this game, but it's going to be a hell of an interesting game to watch. As a Packer fan I'm really not to sure who to root for, but I guess I'd rather see Alex Smith in Lambeau than Drew Brees again. Posted in: Off Topic |

******Giants @ Packers****** After watching the Giants play Sunday, I became a little nervous about this game for a couple hours. Then I woke up Monday and realized there is no way the Pack go one and done in the playoffs. The Packers are the defending champions. They have won 21 of their last 22 games. They are at home, where they've won 13 in a row and averaged 40.1 points per game this season. They are healthy. They dominated the Giants 45-17 in Week 17 of last year, in Mike McCarthy's best game as head coach of the Packers. I was at the game last week, and will be at the game this weekend. The crowd was raucous last ... Posted in: Off Topic |

*Official* Saints vs Lions I don't see how the Lions will be able to keep up with Saints, considering the Packers backup quarterback put up 45 points on this Detroit defense, without Greg Jennings and their top RT. But Stafford also had a hell of a game, and made some great throws down the stretch in the 4th quarter. The Lions should be able to put up a decent number of points today, but it won't be enough. 40-32 Saints win. Posted in: Off Topic |

***NFL Playoff Prediction Thread*** Trying to contain Darren Sproles is a scary thought. But I think GB losing in a shoot out is much more likely than losing because of NO controlling the game with the run. Posted in: Off Topic |

**Oregon vs. Wisconsin Rose Bowl Thread** lol the badgers D is basically the packers D of this year. Give up a shit ton of yards but create a couple of game changing turnovers. And I'm clearly stretching but Russell Wilson reminds me of Aaron Rodgers. Both are great at making throws outside of the pocket, both can run for a first down if the play breaks down, and both rarely turn the ball over (Wilson with just 3 INT's this year). If Drew Brees can make it in the NFL at 6 foot I think Wilson can make it at 5 11. Could be a steal in the 3rd round of the draft. Posted in: Off Topic |

***NFL Playoff Prediction Thread*** They've looked amazing in those last 8 games, although 7 of the 8 were played in domes. And only played two teams that finished better than 23rd in Points allowed per game (TEN, ATL). Interesting to see how they will fare outdoors in San Fran against a legit D. I think on a neutral field GB and NO are about even. But in GB where offensively the Packers have been nearly as good as NO at home, (40.1 PPG vs 41.1 PPG for NO, both 8-0) I think GB wins in a close one. GB > PIT in the SB. 37-27. WTF HBO? This a great post explaining the reason for these moves. Long story short - HBO has way too many returning series + series in development to keep producing low-rated, low profile shows like the ones that got cancelled. To quote the post, I'd definitely take "Dustin Hoffman in Milch's horse racing drama "Luck," Aaron Sorkin's untitled drama about cable news, Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Armando Iannucci's political satire "Veep", Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's "Life's Too Short," Chris Lilley's "Angry Boys" and the Judd Apatow/Lena Dunham comedy "Girls." over the 3 shows that were cancelled. * NFL Discussion Week15 * Packers homer here. Agree with this 100%. Final decision is ultimately up to McCarthy but with they way the schedule breaks down, and based on everything the players have been saying this week they clearly want to go for 16-0. Posted in: Off Topic |

*** Week 13 NFL Power Rankings *** Too hard to find, but how about a list of the great rushing teams of the Super Bowl era. Best run defenses of the super bowl era Best teams in Passer rating differential Based on the results of those team's it's fairly simple to see it's much more important to win the passing game than the running game. *** Week 13 NFL Power Rankings *** I think you'll find this article a pretty interesting read. Passing the ball efficiently and defending the pass is actually much, much more important than running the ball efficiently and defending the run, and always has been. The article is about a little known stat called Passer Rating Differential, or the difference between the passer rating of a team vs the passer rating of it's opponents. "Of the 71 champions since 1940, an incredible 26 of them -- 37 percent -- finished No. 1 in Passer Rating Differential; another 14 finished No. 2 in Passer Rating Differential. In other words, 56 ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Packers Stock Sale Well said. I'm a huge Packer fan as well but don't own any stock. I definitely get it though, if someone wants to fork over $250 for a piece of stock more power to them, it's a win-win for the fans and the organization. One of my friends recently had a child who was born during the 2nd half of the Packers-Vikings game. A family member sent a picture of my friend and his new born child, only minutes old, watching the end of the game to Packers President Mark Murphy. He received this in the mail about a week later: Uploaded with ImageShack.us [URL=" /"] / "Andria and Chris, ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Packers Stock Sale "Proceeds from the sale are expected to help finance the team's planned $143 million expansion of Lambeau Field. That expansion includes the addition of as many as 6,600 seats in the south end-zone area, as well as new videoboards for the stadium. The project is expected to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2013 season. Besides the funds from the stock sale, the Packers are expected to apply for an NFL stadium loan, impose a user fee on fans who buy the new seats and finance the rest. The organization needed permission from the NFL to have the stock sale. The organization has not ... Posted in: Off Topic |
