Recommend a good CPA in Vegas area?
has anyone here used a good CPA with some expertise in poker/gambling income' i searched as best i could but didn't see any posts about this specifically. basically, i know enough about our tax situation to know that i need a professional's advice. who do y'all out here in vegas use'

i don't think there's any feeling as sick as facing charges you know are completely false. i recently had to counsel someone to take a plea agreement for a lesser charge for an incident that was a total fabrication because it wasn't worth the risk of the repercussions of going to trial, even if there was only a 25% chance we would lose. the kid was young (under 20) and if convicted would have been a felon and registered sex offender for life. after the preliminary hearing the DA offered a misdemeanor simple battery charge cause he knew the "victim" had credibility problems and holes in her ...

in all honesty, as long as i can remember wanting to be something, it was a criminal defense attorney. jesus that sounds ridiculous, but even my parents are totally unsurprised at the job i ended up taking. i've been talking about it since i was a kid. the really funny thing to me is that i almost sold out and became a corporate lawyer. i went through all the interviews and got offers in both nyc and houston, but in the end i just couldn't imagine myself in an ivory tower pushing zeroes around for huge corporations. wish i could have though...law school is fucking expensive.
