Re(4): casually smoking weed i've known several people from back in my college days who had strange reactions to smoking--the craziest was the girl who drank like one cider beer and took a hit of dank and proceeded to yak for like an hour. isn't that shit supposed to settle your stomach' and i had another friend who was already kinda high strung anyway and he quit for several years cause it would give him panic attacks, but then i saw him more recently and he was back at it with no problems. vaporizers are crazy. a good friend of mine who i used to visit in cali a lot had one and it was so fucking cool. she was tapped ... Re(1): What I've learned about myself in the last few weeks... when a kid pukes on your shoes, in my book you have some grounds to bitch a little unless you were asking for it (like he wanted to go to the bathroom and you wouldn't let him or something. a teacher did this to me once and i not only puked on her shoes, i puked my way out of the classroom and pretty much all the way down the hall to the bathroom. fucking cunt. i had the flu really bad and slept for like a week after that). anyway, kudos on the honest assessment. on maslow's hierarchy of basic needs, self actualization is the last step and it sounds like you're on your way. some people never ... i sincerely miss those heavy metal bands... ummm, really really super good' how funny, that VW commercial with their song in it is on right now, with the guy with the baby in the back driving around to keep the kid from crying. (watching "license to kill"--i think timothy dalton is perhaps the most underrated bond, but that is for another time and another thread) i've seen wilco live a couple times, and i think they put on a damn good show. saw them in berkeley recently and about three songs in jeff tweedy goes "y'all smell high!" then yadda yadda about how its funny cause no one in thet band smokes. i think sometimes the whole ... Re(11): Obssesed or determined ……..***serious help needed** please read and respond i don't think there's any feeling as sick as facing charges you know are completely false. i recently had to counsel someone to take a plea agreement for a lesser charge for an incident that was a total fabrication because it wasn't worth the risk of the repercussions of going to trial, even if there was only a 25% chance we would lose. the kid was young (under 20) and if convicted would have been a felon and registered sex offender for life. after the preliminary hearing the DA offered a misdemeanor simple battery charge cause he knew the "victim" had credibility problems and holes in her ... Re(5): I've decided on a new car... hmmm...i thought phoenetically that "Bimmer" would end up being pronounced "BIHM-ur" whereas "Beamer" was closer to how you actually say the word. i spose technically it's BMer, so maybe "Beemer" more closely approximates the way it sounds...meh Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(2): I've decided on a new car... wow. a car that costs as much as my legal education. just wow. pretty though. i pretty much knew that i was gonna use my law degree for some kind of public service, and i have always driven hondas or vws. then the first summer i was in law school, a friend of mine from cali left her <1 year old bmw on the east coast where i was for the summer and left me the keys to drive it from time to time so it wouldn't atrophy or whatever. man that was a fun car to drive--the best time was right after a light rain, when the road was a little wet. she had the performance package and that thing just ... Re(12): Annette Started Online Poker at age 15? i think this is a pretty interesting conversation--i wish it could be less contentious and more civil, but anyone who's ever read/posted on p5s knows that biting humor and good natured personal attacks are par for the course. i was considering starting a thread on this topic, but certainly not from the same angle that oscar is coming from. i am more curious to hear from people like menlopops, gobbomom, and SCTrojans' parents. i'm curious as to whether or not they knew their kids were playing for real money so young and what they thought about the whole thing. a while back there was a thread ... Re(1): What did you want to be when you were a kid in all honesty, as long as i can remember wanting to be something, it was a criminal defense attorney. jesus that sounds ridiculous, but even my parents are totally unsurprised at the job i ended up taking. i've been talking about it since i was a kid. the really funny thing to me is that i almost sold out and became a corporate lawyer. i went through all the interviews and got offers in both nyc and houston, but in the end i just couldn't imagine myself in an ivory tower pushing zeroes around for huge corporations. wish i could have though...law school is fucking expensive.
