Standard fold or bad laydown I think the real decision should have been made pre-flop. He only has 1455 left and he puts in 1/3 of his stack. You call and he's not folding after the flop, esp. in a $5 sng so the hand is really going to cost you $1455. Do you want to play AJ for 1455' You should either fold or re-raise him all in. OK, so you called and there is nothing wrong with that either but knowing he's going to go all-in post-flop and then you hit top pair. You have to call. I'm not sure what to title this post. Does anyone recognize The_Toaster on UB I think you had a bad day and hit a bad streak. Sometimes you will hit bad streaks. Myself in March I did 57 SnGs... Beginning of March 11 for 12 in the money Middle March (bad streak) 7 for 29 in the money and there was one day I lost 4 straight. End of March 10 for 16 I don't know what you did on Monday but maybe after a few losses on the $20 and $30 SnG, you should have moved down to a $10 SnG to maybe build confidence. Or just stopped all together and start fresh the next day. You don't want to play your entire bankroll in one day. Why did you take the money out any way' One day is ... Way to Build Bankroll You should stick to $10 SnGs. You should really have enough for 20 SnGs buyins. $25 Cash games could be too high. A couple of bad beats /sessions and you are re-dositing. Most books say start with 30 times the big blind. So a .25/50 cent nl game you should go in with $15. Same thing as SnGs. You need enough for for I'd say 10 buyins. EVENT 2 NL Holdem $1,500 BUY-IN - STRATEGY Speaking of blind structure and chip stacks what goals do you shoot when playing a tourny' You hear a lot in books talk about trouble stacks and move-in stacks but you rarely hear about cruise control stacks, Don�t F this stack up or safe stacks or whatever you call them. Maybe there isn't such a thing since you need to collect them all at one point any way. BUT... I try to use some of the basic cash game rules when playing tournaments. It�s good to have 30 times the BB when you start a cash game. So if the blinds where 50 � 100 and I am very happy with having over $3000 in chips ... Low Buy in Vegas Tourneys? Sam's town has tournaments Fri, Sat and Sun at 7:30 PM. I think it's $40 with 1 rebuy or addon. The tourny has about 40 - 60 players I believe. pokerzenemy he really didn't go out on a bad beat. He had JJ's raised and was called. A K x flop and he kept betting to the point where he started with 5 K in chips and put the remaining 2900 hundred in on the river. The BB at the time showed K5. Not a great move IMO. Foxwoods 2k event 6 - 8 hours away...my bad. I only did one 100 tourny at foxwoods and they gave you 1500 in chips and it was over by 4:30 PM, starting at 10 AM and these were 30 min blinds. WSOP 06 - Which GROUP (day) would you want to play first I think I would go with GROUP D because you can watch how other pros are playing the first 3 days if to give you any kind of tips. I have never played in a tournament with chips starting at 10,000 blinds 25/50 and being an online player, I think checking out how they play early on with this many chips would be helpful. PocketFives Partners in a Player Backing Fund If that is the case I don't understand why someone would chose this backer compared to getting a loan on one of those 0 % loans you get offered from credit cards or 3.99 %.
