Why getting a "real" job is important for you and your poker career. Hows life waking up at 5am everyday to do the same thing everyday kissing ass to your boss just to live for the weekend' Sounds like you might be one of the few then. And remember everyone is different, not everyone wants the same thing out of life, some people take an unconventional life path and are very happy with it. BTW Im not currently a poker pro, I only used poker as my sole income for the 4 months of 2011 leading up to BF but theres a lot of other options for those that dont wanna go the soul draining route in life. Why getting a "real" job is important for you and your poker career. I dont hate all "real jobs" I actually dont mind the plumbing job because Im a foreman and make good money. But I dislike the concept of careers, working 40-60 hours a week doing something that you dont love doing, for an awful boss for 40-50 years just to retire when you are old. I wanna live life now when I am young, not defer "life" to the future. I will never go down the corporate road in life, life is too short to sell your soul like that. The people who are posting about how everyone should get a real career have some great points, and its probably the best path for a lot of people but ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Why getting a "real" job is important for you and your poker career. Yes I have, I entered the work-force at 15 working at a pet store cleaning rat shit out of cages, then moved on to an oil change job sweating it out in a toxic environment working the lower bay (underneath the vehicles). After that worked a gas station job for a while before quitting to focus on school. Also worked as a telephone sales job and then into customer service. Moved on to a HVAC job working for an alcoholic asshole of a boss that I eventually walked off the job after 2 years with a meltdown between the two of us. Since then I work as a plumber in shit trenches and with black goop ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Ex-Professionals that moved on since BF... The "gold rush" is not over, but it got harder to mine out the gold. If you are a dedicated, hard working, solid player you can still make good money. Of course if you arent happy as a poker pro then move on. Posted in: Poker Community |

Ex-Professionals that moved on since BF... I was having my best year leading up to BF, then got stuck with 90% of my roll on ftp and nothing to work with offline. Was shell shocked initially and didnt wanna do anything poker related. Went back to work as a plumber which pays well but is hard work and can be gross. I really enjoyed the summer though, I was much more active than I was pre BF. Played a lot of basketball over the summer, surfed and got in the best shape of my life. I spent a lot of time with friends, got a new dog and generally enjoyed life. Also got onto the show American Ninja Warrior but they didnt air my clip on TV. ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Nate Grow (bignate904) is a scammer, thief, and liar Beware of his scams, crosspost from 2p2. Nathan Grow, from Jacksonville, FL currently living in Melbourne Australia is a scamming, lying, thief. In September he made this thread: / He never even bothered to pickup a horse; this was a scam from the start. He collected 15k from 4 investors then disappeared. He later resurfaced online claiming it was stolen, however this has been confirmed and admitted to be a lie. He was broke and stole the money for life expenses. He is also currently multi-accounting (not true MA but the acct is not his) on Pokerstars on the acct chilli1231. Posted in: Poker Community |
