Calling all regs. I think it pays to mix styles a little eg when playing between 20-30 bigs its hard to play lag because of your stack size so i play pretty tight around this but as i start to get over say 30 bigs i try to start loosening up a lot when in position. So just giving vpip stats etc can be pretty misleading Posted in: Training Forum |

Rake/Rakeback Agree with eduardo not even worth thinking about bonus whoring or rakeback until u play bigger limits because its nearly impossible to clear bonuses at micros and the rakeback so small like eduardo says stars gives rakeback but hard to get at micros Posted in: Training Forum |

Difficult spot in the middle of a tourney? Call or fold? I agree with eduardoamigo all depends what info u have on opp if he is a nit easy fold but lagy a call i think your beating his range to often to fold everybody seems to want to squeeze in that sort of position. If he was deeper it would make it a lot more difficult. Posted in: Training Forum |

Advice on coaching I find it so much easier to multi table and have more time to make decisions ie straight away i no exactly how many bigs everybody at table has got, knowing how loose or tight players is helps the way i play them. Replaying tournaments on the replayer is really good because u can see how many different ways there is to play hands eg betting different amounts to get more value from hands or even losing the least amount possible. also looking for spots where to resteal more often when running a tad steady. Loads of reasons it helps but not many for not having it Posted in: Training Forum |

Advice on coaching I would definitively invest in Holdem Manager if multi tabling a HUD makes a massive difference to me also with software like HM u can review your game much better through the replayer. Posted in: Training Forum |

Late tourny decisions with M between 6 and 10 Raise folding not a option with the size of your stack, when raising that size stack u got to be raise calling or 4 bet shove. i think open shoving is way better than raise folding though. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Could I have played it differently I agree with squish the small 3 bet is real ugly and almost makes u call pre, if he bets larger its a easy fold for me with AJ. Problem is what do u want to see on flop''' If a ace hits u could already be crushed if ya jack comes like it did u still have no idea where u are at. I prob lead out on flop just over half pot and any action i'm going away and left with enough chips to push/fold and try to get back into the tourny. Posted in: Training Forum |

Thanks to P5 coaches, mainly Gags30 Just variance its not very often your miles in front in poker all though we would like to think we are, its sucks but one of pokers biggest difficulties is to pick yourself back up and keep making correct decisions and in the long run results will improve. Played wrong? or just plain donked? I would like the 3-bet pre to around 8500 just think when you do that it helps define his hand so much more, once you take a flop and he c-bets that often i would 3-bet on the flop and ask a question of him and def wouldnt put any more chips in the pot after that. Bankroll Not sure what the rake is like on the $1's on stars, i was doing $3 sng on party and after doing a few hundred i was about break even but then i worked out where i would of been on FTP and i would of been showing nice green figures so moved over to fulltilt (yes brill move now they nicked my doh) and was up every month, it worked out roughly half the rake. In moshmans book (good sng book) he says he wouldnt play below $11 sng's because of the rake, i certainly wouldnt start there cos i am a big nit when it comes to BR but it shows the point i am making. Look round the different sites at what ... Posted in: Training Forum |

Cash Game Question What about if u flop 2 pair''''' Say u have AJ on a AJ3 flop surely u have to pay a set off against donks they could be making crazy moves with such a wide range of hands, even if u pay a set off it must still be EV+ in long run with the times they just have AQ AK or worse. BR Management question I think u would be sensible to say when u get below say 80 buyins then u drop to next level, then if your on a down swing your making it cheaper and not got has much to recoup to play the bigger game once u start getting some good results. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Table Selection I have been using Pokeroffice for a couple of months now and play mostly small 6 handed N/L cash tables, before selecting table i normally track about 4-5 tables and choose which i think is the best one. There is so many stats to look at i not totally sure which ones are most important. My question is what do other players look for when selecting a good table''''' Posted in: Poker Discussion |
