Room available for WSOP (1 June - 15 July) What the title says. I have room for one more at The Meredian Condos (central strip, near Bally's and Flamingo). It's a 2br condo, will be three of us staying in total (two beds + fold out couch, you get your pick). Total cost is $3025 for the six weeks in total, your share of that is roughly a third (so like 900-1200 depending on specifics), based on how long you stay and whether you want a bed or the couch. All of the relevant information about Meredian (location, amenities, features, etc) can be found at their website; / You will be living with me (Oliver, MTT grinder, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:ICM Question - Can this be a fold w/7 left? Yes, this is a fold, you're much better open shoving to win blinds/flip as aggressor than calling off in a flip (which is what you're doing since you have no fold equity) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Quit day job to play full time? OP, i'm 22 and from Bris, played my share of 2/5 at Treasury and trust me, it's one of the toughest 2/5 games i've played anywhere. If you're beating the game there, you're beating 2/5 anywhere for a decent winrate. What's your name by the way, I might know you... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:UB WSOP Someone needs to make some Full Tilt style stick-on patches, with just the letter "F" on them so that the UB qualifiers can request UB jackets to wear in the Main Event and then attach the "F" patches in front of the UB logo On a more helpful note, I played in Aruba last year and their customer support staff, although useless over the phone, are actually quite helpful in person. Re:Hands That Changed Your Life (Or Didn't) Aruba Classic 07, my first major live tournament. 100ish left, Jordan Rich and I are both top 10 stacks. I cover but only just. I raise from MP with 22, Jordan calls from SB, BB calls. Flop 279 rainbow Jordan and BB check, I lead 1/3 pot, expecting Jordan to raise ATC (he's a maniac), Jordan raises, BB folds, I reraise to about a third of my stack, Jordan 4bet shoves (we're both about 100BB deep), I tank and eventually call. Jordan tables 55 for a massive bluff. Turn 8, River 6. I'm crippled and he's a massive chipleader. He goes on to final table for six figures and later ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Where to live as an online Pro? Australia is nice if you can get residency (I'm a dual Aus/US citizen and playing poker for a living atm, I was born and raised in Australia though) Similar cultures, high standard of living, no tax on poker/gambling winnings. Two places I can think of that would be nice would be Melbourne or the Gold Coast. Both have casinos for live play + great culture/nightlife etc if that's important to you. Plus, lots of Aussie girls like American accents. Alternatively, Aruba is fantastic, I could definitely live there if it wasn't on the other side of the world for me. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): NEED info from Aruba Vets....Husband won Aruba trip on UBet last night I played in Aruba last year. Best week of my life. Anyway... 1) If you're in the US, 3k more than covers it. I'm from Australia and I managed to do it on 3k and it cost me about half of that just to get to the US. Prices for everyday stuff in Aruba are similar to US prices. The event is at the Radisson, which is a resort/casino on the main strip. For the second half of the week I stayed at Holiday Inn which was awesome and reasonably priced (120/nightt from memory, Radisson is 200ish); I highly recommend it. The beach outside Holiday Inn is great, the restaurants nearby are fantastic (try ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Spot to fold AA in a SNG? NEVER FOLD THIS Using a $20 SnG as an example If you fold, you win less. If you call, you win more. Logic First = 100 Second = 60 Third = 40 Fourth = 0 (or 90/54/36 if it's 9 handed but i'll stick with 10 for the sake of the example and since it's more of a snapcall 9 handed) Let's assume you call. Using some hypothetical numbers... 15% of the time, you win 0 25% of the time, you win 40 35% of the time, you win 60 25% of the time, you win 100 Expectation = $56 Let's assume you fold 1% of the time, you win 0 (he sits back in and doubles - it may be higher than 1%) 69% of the time, ... Re(1): Best 'live tv' pros in the opinion of 'online' pros who have played live Well, i've only played two main event tournaments, but I ran deep in both so I got to play with a lot of the pros. Here are my reviews. Phil Hellmuth - Horrible fundamentals, but he can read your soul. Flatcalled me down with ace four high once for a third of his stack on the river, correctly putting me on a busted flush draw, however he was behind my entire UTG preflop raising range except for possibly a busted Kc Qc draw. Bottom line, even if I was bluffing, he didn't beat anything in my range yet he flatcalled anyway 'because he sensed weakness'. I had Ak Kc for the record and he had a ... Re(3): UB's new RAI$E program Fix your customer service (10 week withdrawals are bad) and bring back numerous mid-high stake MTTs with guarantees. Many, many $20-100 freezeouts with guarantees, like FT. Some regular Aruba sats with reasonable buy-ins and large fields would be nice - the odd $100 freezeout or $25-30 rebuy would only need 85 runners to fund a seat. I went to Aruba last year and I don't want to have to wait for a $500 50 seat guarantee to qualify and I REALLY don't want to play $2 steps tournaments. Nice start though... Re(3): can't understand why ppl dont chop Most players who WANT to chop do so because they either a) need the money or b) don't feel that they can close out the tournament. If you have an edge over the field and it isn't life-changing money, it's -EV to chop. I find that I can close out about 50% of tournaments that get to 3 handed with relatively deep stacks and 75% heads up and for that reason, I don't chop unless my opponent is a very, very strong player or if they offer me a deal that is worth significantly more than my chips. It's nice to lock up variance, but it's -EV and that simply isn't worth it if you are a better player ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Where does poker stand in terms of your politics? Fortunately, as a progressive voter, I find that my side of politics (Dems in the US - i'm a dual citizen living in Australia) is on the correct side of the issue and thus I can continue to despise everything Republicans stand for, including denying Americans their personal freedoms. I think we can sum it up by saying that online poker probably won't be properly regulated and the UIGEA won't be amended/repealed until the Dems have the white house and both chambers of congress. Re(5): If you had the BR -- could you hang? I think i'd be slightly +EV in the highest stake MTTs. I'd lose a million dollars a week at 300/600NLHE and a million dollars a month at 200/400 PLO. The top level cash games are sick. The top level MTTs still have their share of weak players that can be exploited, yes, even the 500 and 1k buyins. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): An Example of when to fold AA preflop.....?!? Sattelite Experts opinion please. DO NOT FOLD AA HERE EVER You have 5BB. If the shortstacks double you're hurting. If you had 20BB its an easy muck. CALL this 100% of the time. Next time you get blinded out and finish one short of the seat after folding a monster, remember this post. I live off other peoples fear in satellites like this. Abuse the bubble, don't let the bubble abuse you. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
