Did I play to survive not play to win here? Background: I'm a pretty decent O8b cash player, never played an O8b tournament before. None of the players were very out of line, all were fairly tight towards the end. There were 24 left in the tournament at this point. Re:Cash or MTT: Who can make a BETTER living Discussing outliers (the people at the top of each category) is probably not the best way to come up with an answer. A large sample size, especially across the middle where it is relevant to most here, would certainly prove the most fruitful. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Stars t# 155860270 I love the idea. Every time I go deep in a tournent I don't get to bed until about 2:30 or so and have to get up at 6:30. I want to grind tournaments but can't during the week because of this. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Hand Replayers Are there any hand replayers that allow you to hide the hole cards' Sometimes this makes it more interesting and allows someone to make a more objective assement of what they would do in the situation if they can't see the villians cards. Might even be interesting to watch if everyones cards are hidden at times. I was thinking about writing the program myself, but wanted to see if it existed before I spent the time. Getting value vs Busting a player I was recently playing a tournament where there were about 50 left out of 2700. I was in the BB with AA. An early player shoved for 4.5 BBs and got a late caller. I reraised pretty big and he called me also. I raised on the flop when it came 10 high. The player folded and complained that I better be able to beat the all in guy. In this spot I think it was 100% the right play as I could have been drawn out on, plus I wanted to get value for a call. My question is this though: When is it the right time to start checking it down' Is it ever in that situation' I can see if you are at the final ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

HU article? Does anyone know of a good heads-up article/guide' Lately I've been getting a lot of 2nds and not a lot of 1sts. My friend once told me I was the tightest heads up player he had ever seen but I was successful at it. Since then I've loosened up but I've gotten worse. I've tried to go back to tight, go way forward to crazy, but I'm not having much luck. Just can't find the grove. . . . Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Is this a profitable deal or not? I believe with 7 cards the odds of getting a straight flush are 1 : 3590. 9 tables won't deal that many in 30 minutes, 180 at best. Seems like easy money to me. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
