Two bad plays? AQs and TT
Any hud stats' Reads are important for hand 1. You are too deep to jam and I like a 3b/c vs some. Against a big nit you prob can't 3b/c profitably here so I'd probably fold with this awkward stack. Vs a guy with a name like dont-b-at-it with fishy stats (according to OPR) it will be profitable and he will flat a bunch of hands you dominate. With effective stack ~30 bigs I'd make it 620sh. I'm never folding TT with 25 bigs vs 1 open unless this guy is the biggest of nits. Even then I prob sigh get it in . If I had 20bbs I prob just ship it in, with 25 bbs in position I 3b like 4900/c. ...

Most profitable pre flop?
Hand 1 T5s doesn't even crack the top 50% of hands and you are opening it from the worst position into a stack you have to call in what I assume is a somewhat tough tournament (50r). Do you open j4ss' Q2ss ' T7o' I get the point you are trying to make - BB is short and everyone knows you have to call if he crams so you range is generally perceived as strong to any thinking player. You are banking on the fact that BB will only stack off with a reasonably tight range so you only have ~32% equity which is a far cry from "ur only ever gonna be really 40/60". Since your play is based on stacks ...

Should I follow my gut even though it isn't a 'real' tell?
Nice post Tyson. I suggest you guys Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. While I don't agree with some of his pseudo-science conclusions its a great read and has some interesting concepts on snap decisions or 'thin slicing'. This rapid formulation of an opinion is called thin slicing, where someone uses their past experiences and expertise to form an opinion. A person can thin slice without even knowing that they are thin slicing. The book talks about how our adaptive unconscious is able to not only start to make these decisions for us without us being consciously aware but also our adaptive ...

Pokerstars VIP bonus reminder - expires at year end, i almost forgot to cash a few
Quote from email I received from stars: You do not have to actually claim unlocked VIP Stellar Rewards or Milestone Cash Credits this year – you will still be able to do that next year. However, the points do have to be earned by the deadline, which is January 1 at 00:00 ET (UTC-05:00).

K9 @ SM FT bubble.
he has 2.8m. Also pokerstars replays the final table with the holecards shown. You are def +CEV vs his range but given the dynamic of scared money you can prob find better spots jamming unopened next sb/btn/co etc and pick up chips without having to go to showdown. Pretty much what shanetrain said.

Battle of the blinds in Sunday Mill.
I'd love to see your math here. What % of his range will he raise and fold to your limp/jam' What % will he raise call' How often will he check his option' You are burning money here limping unless you have a pretty specific read/dynamic that he will r/f a significant percentage of the time even tho his stack makes it kinda awkward.

Is it neccessary to use a HUD to be a profitable online player?
Why not use a program that gives you more information in a game of incomplete information' Of course, like anything else if its not used correctly it can be a hindrance more than a benefit. When I first used a HUD I found it cluttered my table and didn't understand the numbers. I had HEM for 6 months before I actually started effectively using it. I made a really simple HUD that allowed me to get a handle on someones style of play VPIP/PFR/steal%/3bet/# of hands I'm lost without a HUD if i'm multi tabling but its not essential if you are playing less then 6 tables.

dealing with call/raises
lol @ this thread. you are really trying to sound smart. limp/reraise is almost always a nutted hand. You should very easily fold your medium strength hands vs a ep/limp reraise since the vast majority of players are never going to have a balanced range in these situations. there is the odd time in a multiway limped pot where you make a large raise pre to iso and the fish thinks 'ah he's just stealing i'm gonna jam my 44 f that guy'
