1/2 NL Cash strategy
make a hand and value bet the shit out of it on every street!!! You can not bluff 85% of $1-2 players so dont even try. I have seen people in $1-2 games call all in river bets with top pr top kick on boards flush and straight coordinated and then say "well I had AK, I thought he was bluffing" The truth is so many players in those games are true rec players and play very ABC. The good news is they will call every bet with a pair in there hand or if the flop top pair. Did I mention value betting your made hands!!!

Steve Gee
I personally hate the shove there. T7 suited is a hand to see flops with not shove. Anton three bet range is anything from small pairs to suited one gapers or any connected paint. However, what does T7 beat''' I agree with matze though, we dont know the dynamic of the table. I would imagine he was tired of being three bet. In addition, I was rooting for Gee after the luck box jerk Salaburu called him out as the worst player at the final table last year. Top 25 two years in a row, C'mon he knows what he is doing!!

opinions on hand against aggro maniac
Thanks guys for the advice. Next time against a maniac I will three bet in this spot, seems that is the standard. Some of the regs told me today that guy dumped $6500 off it that 2-5 game. Wish I would have got some of it.

opinions on hand against aggro maniac
Im only flatting here against maniacs. He had called 2 jams previously, one for $300 ish and another for $550, in which he proudly turned over 10-7 off. I doubt he is folding to $600 over and i dont like to risk my stack pre without a made hand. AA or KK I never flat him, he is calling every raise so with those hands reraise is the profitable play.

opinions on hand against aggro maniac
Playing 2-5 at my local casino when a unknown drunk guys sits to my left. He starts raising every pot to $40 without looking at his cards. If someone raised before him he would 3bet $100. All of these raises he never looked at his hand pre, ( I watched him cap his cards without looking every time). Five hands in he makes two pair on the river with AT and the board is AQ38T with three diamonds and reraises tight lady all in and she snaps him off with nut flush (for $1400). So he pulls another max $1500 buy in out. Then that is when I tangled with him. I am UTG+2, UTG limps and I have AK I ...

Adjusting to live play
I am with DUFFMANCANTREAD. "im often in the corner with below average stack" you say. "I see myself as one of the best players at the table" you say. I am not trying to be an ass but, it doesn't make you one of the best players cause you wait for big hands and three bet. Good players adjust and raise with junk when you see an opportunity or put a player on a big pocket hand and call marginally IP to hit or outplay that person. I am a cash game player and get tired of people berating others play cause they shoved their whole stack in sitting deep with top top or a big pocket pair only to ...

Howard Lederer at the Bellagio - Your Thoughts?
I wish he would sit in a 5-10 game so the grinders could get his money. He is a leatherass, donk IMO. I never liked that bitch with all his philosophical BS talking at the table.

play fast or slow here
2-5 NL live game. I pick up KK in the big blind and there is a ten dollar straddle with 5 callers before it gets to me. I make it $85 and honestly would be happy to pick up the $60 as opposed to playing oop even with KK. I get two callers, one is a solid player I have played with a bunch and the other is someone I am not familiar with but did four bet and hour earlier with 45 off oop. He has been really active and his stack going up and down over the last two hours. My image is tight, I have three bet only 3 times and had big pairs everytime, twice showing down and been involved in less ...

Summer in Vegas 2012
You can get a bus pass for the day for $7 or for a week for like$25. The bus stops pretty much everywhere. There is a shuttle that runs every 30 min from harrahs to Rio. Dont waste $300 on car rental. When your there for a week, Vegas can hit your pocket hard (food, cabs and entertainment etc.) save your money for the grind. I will be there too jun 9-18 and looking forward to juicy games, the Venetian has been the nuts the last three years that I have played it. Good Luck!

play this hand
2-5nl live game. I pick up 88 on the button. Action goes; two limpers early position and LAG player raise to $35 from three of the button (Stack $750), cutoff is a loose passive player, he calls (stack $600), I call (stack $625), limpers fold. Flop Q8T two club. LAG bets $70, passive calls, I call. I dont want to raise here, I wanna see one more card and decide what to do ( pot control). Turn K hearts. Lag bets $145 and passive calls. here I am concerned with the passive player calling. I have been playing this table for 2 hours and this guy has shown down 3-4 hands and had it every ...

How much can you make in live poker yearly full time?
First of all I wanna say this post is interesting. Seems like more people are interested in giving shit to someone who would just like an answer and maybe some numbers of what people have accomplished in live games. I should also say that I dont play for a living as I have a great job that pays my bills. However, I do play regularly in a live casino game in CA 2-5 nl with a max $500 buy in. I must say that I would hate to do this for a living but should also say that I am a regular winner in the game. I have months where I will win $4500 and months where I barely win or even lose 1K or ...

What is the Safest Extended Stay in Las Vegas?
I like the Imperial Palace for the world series. You can get a room for under $50 a night except weekends and your on the strip. Yeah, of course its a shithole but the sheets are clean and guarantee you wont get mugged or raped. I stayed there last year for 7 days and the total was under $300.

home game question
The question you should ask yourself is if you are really trying to win in this game'' I play regularly at a local casino in a $2-5 game, sometimes I play an occasional home game that has $1-2 blinds. The home game I buy in for $100 and usually bring $20 worth of beer, win or lose I have fun berating my friends. So, if your trying to win money in a home game with blinds like 0.25 then I think you have the wrong Idea about home games. Just have fun and enjoy the company on a Friday night, if you wanna play competitive poker go to a casino.

running bad
Currently going through the worst run of poker in my life. I cant win a hand when I flop a monster and can't hit a draw when I have 17 outs of more with two to come. I know everyone hates hearing people complain but I am just wondering how to deal with a bad run. I play for fun and work a 9-5 to live but usually do pretty well playing 2-5nl about 14-20 hours a week. The last two months I have only won 3 out of 14 sessions and those wins were modest. I have lost 0.28% of my roll and its driving me crazy. I took a week off and even tightened up tremendously but still no better. What do ...

Should I be concerned about these stats
I consider myself to be a profitable live player. I too also have a job and play live about 12-16 hours a week for mostly fun, competition and to make a little extra cash. I keep records of win and losses and then tally up at the end of each month. I am playing $2-5 with a $500 max buy in and have had months where I won 4-6K and also have had months where I have lost 5k. It is all variance. The last 5 weeks I have been really on a downswing with only winning 2 out of 10 sessions but never felt like I played it bad and usually get it in when I am a favorite but Variance is a factor. ...

What is the average wait time to be seated at a poker table?
If you plan on playing there often, throw the floor staff a bone ($5) when you come in. They will remember you after a few times and you will be seated quicker.

Donk betting ( lead
Of course a depends on the table and the action but I like to donk bet when I flop a set on a coordinated board. It gives the original raiser a chance to raise your bet and if you get some calls and the draws come in then you have a better idea of where your at. I have donk bet with just two overs and overpairs as well as draws and middle pair on the flop. All depends on the table and your image.

How do I beat stupidity???
If your willing to call a three bet and a cold call from a player oop with AQ then im pretty sure you shuld just shove. But you shulda three bet initially. Also, seems like roxins raise was for Value so he either has a 7 or AK here right'' He could be raising with AJ I suppose although unlikely.

$2/5 Live cash. Donk bet on turn and river
Raise the turn! A min raise will do or a little more. He likely has AJ, if he repops you then you know where your at if he flats and checks the river then you can check behind with a value hand. If he flats the turn raise and fires big on the river its a fold. Just my opinion. sounds like he puts you on AK,AQ or small pair with a cbet , he donks the turn and when you flat he feels like AJ is good, he can't check the river after donking the turn cause gives you a chance to bet.

2/5 Live Cash Hand
IMO AA or KK here. Could be a set but if he is a solid player he prolly not calling three bet to set mine. Most likely AA or KK but sometimes its 99-JJ. Without a read, save your stack pick a better spot.

opinion on hand play.
Blue dog, I agree im only beating bluff or chopping here. I have played with this guy several times and he does a lot of overbetting. Many times he will raise $25 get two callers and then bet $100 on flop. Anyhow, I made the call because it just didnt feel right, he had 99. Most of the time this is a terrible call but it just didnt feel right, went with my gut. thanks guys your thought processes were right where I was at but being at the table gave me a little more info.

opinion on hand play.
2-5 game sitting on avg stack $570 for table. On button A6s with three limpers, raise to $30, SB fold, BB raise to $85. everyone else fold. BB is a solid reg who rarely shows down a hand and never gives free show but does a lot of 3betting. I could just fold here, I know. Call the $55 and flop comes QJ7 rainbow. Check, check. turn 3s putting four spade out, BB check I bet $90 and get quick call. river A, BB all in covering me'''''' Advice. Good 2/5 NL and 5/10 NL games in Vegas
I go about 6-7 times a year and I have played 2-5 at caesars, bellagio, wynn and venetian. My opinion is the venetian is soft, the local grinders are tight and often feel that top top is best, gives oppurtunity to make good money. Want to play Aria cause I hear its good game but, I almost always profit at ventian so it is hard to leave that.
