Re:Need info about Los Angeles While the beaches are nice, it can take up to 1 - 1.5 Hours to get accross town (20 miles or so) during rush hour/traffic. The Bike doesn't have a hotel attached, but you can stay at the Commerce Casino (about a 10 minute drive). Not much around there except for the Bike and Commerce. The nicest close area is probably Cerritos to the south. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Pokerstars Malfunction? Maybe since the 430 is more than 50% of the 600 BB, they are considering this a valid raise which gives the originial limper the chance to go all-in. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): WOW short stacked in 20r on Tilt....What to do?? The Universe -- good analysis, but I don't think you can exclude Kings and Aces from his range of hands. The EP 4x raise would appear very strong to the re-raiser and this amount constitutes 25% of his stack. I believe many players would just go ahead and push the stack in instead of making a 3-bet for like 22K, which may be more suspicion that an all-in push. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

LA Players - Make a Wish's "Aces for Wishes" Tournament (August 12th) Hey Guys. I'm a regular volunteer with the Make a Wish Foundation of LA. We have our annual fundraiser tournament coming up on August 12th and I'd love to see a bunch of LA Pocket Fives people in the house supporting a great cause. Tournament tickets are $350 and include food, drinks, and high-end donated prizes. Also, if you purchase a ticket and put my name (Ryan Buckholtz) in the request field, I'll give you a nice extra little prize at the event. Let me know if you register and also if you have any questions. Thanks -- Ryan For more info and to purchase tickets, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): The WSOP is rigged! Couple of observations... Chris, I totally agree with you about the dealers. It's hard enough to concentrate on a poker tournament and try and play mistake free, but to also have to do the dealers' job for them is just rediculous. BTW, I took 8th in that Bellagio tournament for $3600. First place was over 50K -- blah. I should have known better than to try and bluff a calling station. GL with the rest of the series. Re(1): Insulting form letter from Sen. Bill Nelson I use to work as an intern in a senate office. By law, they are required to respond to every constituent corespondance (e-mail with an e-mail, letter with a letter). Don't take it personally, they get thousands of e-mails and letters a day on all types of issues (and yes they have a form letter for each issue, which are handled by the mail room interns). If you really want to make a difference, try to schedule an appointment with someone in the office. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Prediction for WSOP -- Harrah's Customer Serivce How do you guys think Harrah's will fare on addressing the problems of last years WSOP (bathrooms and hallways, long lines early for registration, food, etc)' My prediction is that it will be chaos again and still a pain in the players' ass. We will see. I'll be in around 3 pm on Monday. If you see somebody with UNC stuff on, it's probably me, so say wassup. GL to all P5ers. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Noble poker scam! 100K no way With no hand histories, it's hard to tell. Noble needs to release those to the poker public or they lose all credibility. Collusion is certainly possible. Either that or Noble has overspent on their marketing/overhead costs without recieving enough income, and is losing money and has no cash to pay this person. Either way the lesson should be stick to the big sites if you wanna get paid. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): WSOP Refund Policy Hey Matt, How's it going' I saw alot of people signed up for both on Stars (including yourself) and wondered the same thing. I want to wear my own stuff (some UNC gear) so I decided against using W$s for Event 2. You would most likely be able to get your money back, but it's probably not worth the hassle of having to deal with the TDs that early in the WSOP. I would recommend just using the W$s for Event 2, and plan on buying in directly to Event 3 if you don't survive Day 1 of Event 2. Ryan Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Is it necessary to PREREGISTER TO WSOP EVENT #2? I got in late the night before event # 2 last year and they were already at alternate # 200 or so, so I decided not to play. Things were very hectic on that day to register, so it would not be a bad idea to pre-reg for this event. The other events should not be a problem, just wait until after event #2 starts to register for later events, and the chaos should settle down. GL. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
