Borgata tourny situation - unfair (Long) 1. You should post this on 2p2 in MTTc - Live in the Borgata Poker Open thread, Tab will see it there. 2. Players in AC are complete assholes when it comes to pressuring people into putting money toward paying the player who bubbles. I've gotten into a lot of serious arguments over the years by not agreeing to do it. 3. As far as I know there is no rule at Borgata preventing players from gathering a collection for the bubble. It's theoretically no different than making a deal at the final table. 4. It may be the case that due to #2 it would be best to have a rule preventing collections for ... Re:Weird spot in the Mohegan 1k... Event 17 I wouldn't call pre (and probably play more SCs than anyone), but it's not a horrible mistake or anything. Once you get here just jam the flop for sure, you can get called by overpairs/combo draws, there's a lot in the pot relative to your stack (which is the primary reason not to call pre with this hand FWIW), and giving a free card here would be death. Re:ban poker tracker If we were starting from scratch and online poker didn't exist, I would totally support banning HUDS, PT and the like. I just don't think you should be allowed to rely on external aids during the play of a hand. But I think we're much too far gone to turn back now. They have been allowed for years. People have built their games around the fact that they are legal. People have pursued poker as a profession based on their proficiency at playing online poker while running a HUD. Players have abstained from taking detailed notes regarding their opponents because their HUDs mean they ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:stars 1k, how do you proceed? Move thread to 2p2 obv. Check the flop the first time around. The board's really good for your opponents' ranges, and as stated above by many online superstars your hand isn't in great shape against a raise here. As played call, folding is ridiculous but you don't want to get it in here and I doubt you have much fold equity given that you c-bet that board and Villain raised with a player behind him. Re:MTT Sample size for determining ROI. ROI data in MTTs is almost completely useless. The only exception would be if you play the same type of relatively small field tournament, like a $12/180, and play a ton of them in a short period of time. Only then are the field strength, structure and your play fairly constant (over time, as Jennifear pointed out, your play will evolve, as will field strength). So that controls for everything that can be controlled for, at which point the insane variance will play a huge role. You'll never have any clue what your "true ROI" is IMO. Re:HSMTTs- Another isane disgusting spot vs the Legend frankthetank( in ftops 1k) 87, which was an OESD on the turn, got there. Anyway, it's not the overcall/raise on the river from the 3rd player that I'm worried about, it's what the presence of another opponent for whom the river card was a good card for his range should do to Frank's bluffing frequency. Re:HSMTTs- Another isane disgusting spot vs the Legend frankthetank( in ftops 1k) Really' A big chunk of rock's analysis rests on Frank not checking the flop with AJ and AT, which as Frank confirmed (unsurprisingly given the flat preflop for such a high % of effective stacks) is flat out wrong. Additionally I think rock's analysis gives insufficient emphasis to the third player in the pot, the river card improves his hand (as well as OP's) a lot. Yeah we're folding a hand near the top of our range (this would be a snapcall if no one else was in the pot), but there's someone else yet to act who in the absence of further information has to be presumed not ... Re:HSMTTs- Another isane disgusting spot vs the Legend frankthetank( in ftops 1k) Fold pre, not nearly deep enough to call here with J9s. River's an easy fold, he's betting into two people when a card that hits both of their ranges hard appears on the river, he's not bluffing ever I wouldn't think. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
