No I agree with the 2.5x raise at this stage of the tournament, but AJ is just so weak with 7 players left to act. Fold preflop and you won't get yourself in this mess. Your stack is not big enough to bully the bubble. Plus when playing looser during the bubble you want position too. UTG save for better hands.

I think your fold is the right play. He could also have QQ, thinking you have KK or AA. Either way you are beat. I can't see him betting that much on flop without either hand. If he is crazy he might have AQ or AK.. But I would fold here too.

I agree with everything said in this thread - Fold preflop - (If called) shove flop or check/fold The way the hand was played is an absolute knightmare. You just gave away half your chips without ever attempting to make him win the pot. He outplayed you yes, but you have to call after betting that flop. In conclusion, I agree with elusively.

To be honest I am folding preflop here. AJ is a tricky hand to play and I almost never like playing it in early position. Only time I can think of playing AJ preflop is if I am chip leader or I am a short stack and I have to shove. The way the hand is played I still fold on flop. His play at ever spot is beyond terrible though.

I would of bet the turn and re-evaluated. The way the hand was played I still call the river, even though chances are you are beat. He could be shoving any middle pairs or even have JJ or QQ here. If it is the start you can call and double up or just load another.

The way I am looking at it though is that if he is looking to extract the most value out of the hand why is he just calling the raise preflop. That is just inviting someone else to call and suck out with an inferior hand. Then why is he betting extremely small on a very draw heavy board' Just doesn't seem very +EV moves for him, unless he knows I have 66 and now chance of hitting straight / flush. I wouldn't think this is a good spot to slow play such a big hand.
