Jobs in Poker Industry
Going into my senior year of college, beginning to think about career choices...I would love to work in the poker industry, ideally for the media side, perhaps for a magazine with the goal of one day being a writer or editor. If anyone has any experience in the media careers of poker, and could shed some light as to where to start or how to gain experience, it would be greatly appreciated

Re:line check Scoop 1k
I agree with almost everything ITT thread, but the only thing i am curious about is with all the action preflop, he must have you on a very strong holding obv. Therefore, if he did have QQ, would he really play it this fast' because as you proved playing QQ that fast on that board would give reason for hands like KK and AA to fold. The only thing thing he could possibly be scared about is AKcc, because he could almost rule out anything that had him beat. This makes me think he most likely had AA and it was a tough but good fold

Re:Weird spot in 55 6max with 2 tables left
I like the check on the turn FWIW, if you get c/r there when the 3rd club falls it makes for a gross spot. However, I also like a check on the river...you have good showdown value and as you had stated earlier, you are the two big stacks and the pot is already inflated so no need to value bet with only TP and risk getting into a situation just like this. As for his raise, I think he only makes this raise with 2 hands that beat you, obv. flush like KQcc or something or 99. However i don't think he would have 3 bet you pre with a holding such as that (KQcc), and since the Ac is on the ...

Re:Security guards stand by as girl is attacked
the girl that got attacked went up to the security guards pointing at the other teens seemingly asking the three grown men to protect her. So even if they were not security guards, and were just three random guys standing there...how could they ignore her and do nothing as she gets stomped' pretty fucking disgusting imo, that ppl could let this go on and do nothing... and for ppl saying "there were 10 animals there what could they do'" the news anchor said the attacker was also 15, and in a public setting if all 3 guards were at the scene intervening, i find it hard the believe the ...

Live Hand Question
Was playing a $200 NLHE Live tourney with approx. 80 runners, 12k starting stacks and 40 min. blind levels. My stack approx. 10k only had one showdown where I won with three's full so my table image is very solid. My reads were the bb to my left was weak tight, and the button on my right was very aggressive. The Hand blinds 100/200 Hero: 9c7c button limps for 200, I limp, and bb checks... FLOP: 10c 9d 3c I check, bb bets 400, button raises to 1000 (she had been making weak min raises all day but she had a big stack), I call 1000, bb raises to 3000, button folds and I throw in the ...

Bankroll building strategy
Hey guys, I have not posted more than once or twice but I have been a long time observer and I feel like there usually sound advice given on many subjects, so I came here to ask mine: I have been playing poker part time for a couple years and I have had some decent cashes but overall I have been losing lately. What troubles me is that I have had far more success playing live than I have online. However, I am in school and playing live for me on a consistent basis is impossible. I know that I can be successful in online poker because I have done it before, turning $100 in $1500 on several ...

Re:KK early in FTOPS w ~130 bbs?
one thing that i think some people are forgetting here...with the stack sizes in play, you think he is really raising 5X the big blind in mid-position with no limpers if he is really as strong as AA' either he only want to scoop the blinds with AA or he has whole cam and knows you have KK waiting right' i say he has QQ at best, perhaps AKo GL and snap call imo

Re:Getting backed
ty for the insight, As for stakes and volume, i would prefer smaller stakes in the beginning so that we could grow comfortable with each other and hopefully then both stakes and volume could grow. The reason I am interested is because I am currently a student and I play approx 20-30 hours a week. But as you are aware in order to be profitable in online poker you must have a significant bankroll so that you dont go broke when running bad, and also so you do not play with emotion. As a student I find myself depositing $100 and cashing out everytime I get to around 750 because the money is ...
