Why getting a "real" job is important for you and your poker career.
Didnt read the entire thread but its the same as many past threads...the thing about these threads is we evaluate personal and monetary profitability in the "now". Just like poker, jobs are the sum of multiple hours and experience (see Maclcom Gladwell's book). My point is it takes time to build a bankroll of knowledge, years in fact. From year one in university until know has taken 15 years, life bankroll over that time has exponentially grown to the point I could never make poker a full time option, however, it is a stimulating, fun, profitable part time option for me. Playing in US with foreign account?
I live in Canada but work in the US during the week. Is there anyway to still be able to play given that money is going to and from a Canadian institution (On stars). I suppose this is still against the TOS, Im pretty sure its the IP address that gets picked off and prompts the block.

non-US Players only: which countries easy to immigrate, poker=legal+taxfree?
Its a grey area in Canada similar to that of a number of other areas (travel expenses). From those that I have spoken to you can claim as taxable income, non-taxable income (not sure why you would) or not claim at all. If the CRA decided to audit, you would be in a position to justify that you are a casual player vs. a professional (lucky vs. reasonable expectation). The other thing as someone else illuded too if you claim as taxable they will take your money, if you deduct your losses it is up to the judgement of the CRA...hence the grey area, not much of an impetus to claim.

Is it possible to play drunk and still play well at the same time?? (live)
Scott Weiland and Iggy Pop have had a pretty good winrate over a bunch of hands, Layne Staley and most recently Winehouse didnt run so good. More people have failed than sustained, but that's the story of poker...seems like you have come to an Anthony Kiedis kind of epiphany.

Everything Jalman said including his second post...For Ivey to cut ties there has to be enough skin in the game to do so (i.e. the opportunity cost of current $ on FT and lost personal revenue). He is not seperating from the pack for ethical reasons, he is a partner. He knows something is foul and his financial wealth is being impacted, he is not thinking about his personal brand, he is thinking liquid. Not a good sign for anybody's funds period.

The US government should take all of the poker players with this new found free time and put them to work to contribute to economic policy that is +EV. $180 Billion in monthly deficit, the days of debating whether or not it's the greatest nation are waning, the poker issue is merely a microcosm of the irrational thought and lack of critical focus on real issues. A waste of tax payer money and also a waste of the better global interests.

Some players are alot more inclined to know what it takes to run a mid-large sized business than Mike Matusow. All big business has alot of shit happening, they focus on the critcal few and get things done - last time I checked thats how they stay a big business. As most have pointed out the timing of this smells like cash flow.
