Re(2): FT of fifty fifty last night, discussion.....
RankMe - I think in order to intelligently discuss that aspect of the hand we need to know more information about the stack sizes and the play level of the rest of the table. If you have a huge edge on the rest of the table then maybe. But if all the play is going to be preflop because of the blinds and stack sizes, then edges kind of even out somewhat over 5 cards. Congrats on the final table showing and too bad on losing a huge flip.

Re(1): STEP hand. any thoughts
You should fold. It's a sng, and you've got only 60 invested, 1440 behind, and the blinds are only 10/20. Too much action to do anything but shove over the top, and way to early in the sng to shove over the top w/ only a draw. Fold and continue to play.

Heads up in 9 person SNG hand question
Heads up just stated, 2nd hand. H4 has played a very solid sng, maybe a not quite aggressive enuf on bubble when he had the big stack, but no mistakes other than that. Playing his good hands aggro. Question is what is the better approach here' 1. Shove like the monkey i am to try to take down the blinds but obv committed if he calls to showdown.. or 2. Raise to 1200, fold to a shove or substantial reraise based on read of his aggressivenes being somewhat limited to very solid preflop holdings..or 3. Raise to 1800 and fold to a shove or reraise, since either would committ him. I am ...

Re(1): Aim convo with Ryanb9..He told me to asked all the pros this question.. just read
SNG powertools is the program that will run this situation to tell you what your calling range should be to make this a +ev decision. From the situation in the IM chat I think this is most likely a fold, and certainly one I would make on the money bubble. For those saying "i play to win" i'll try to accurately paraphrase sheets (an undisputed sng pro and expert) from a very recent sng video i watched on pxf. The mistake people make is callin on the money bubble for their tourney life. The difference in payout between 4th and 3rd is infinite - you get nothing for fourth. And if you get into ...

Re(1): Is softplaying legal / allowed? - Dariominieri and Inissint in Step6 SNG on Stars
The only evidence provided (other than a checkdown of KJ in a 12K prize pool sng) is indicative of Dario's play. Stop making accusations about inissint. Report it to Pokerstars about Dario if you feel so ethically bound to do so. But until you come back with some actual solid evidence about inissint's play, stop proving what he is saying about you by behaving so badly, and immaturely.

Re(1): late in stars step sng... what to do?
IMO fairly easy fold on the bubble. You have to think there is a decent chance youare not ahead. Mostly a 10J villian hand. Tho i've seen big stacks limp big hands 1010/JJ waiting to bust someone. Also 22 is a possibility for either of the all ins ahead of you. You have to think that a big draw or 2 is out there, oesd, flush draw. There is still the guy who flat called your 300 bet to act again after you. So you really have to worry about 3 people potentially having hands that crush you now, or have good odds of making their hand to crush you by the river. Short stack is all in. If they ...

Re(1): WCOOP Main Event Investigation Conclusion
Awesome job by stars. So many reasons they are the best site around. I do wonder about whether or not TheV0id was able to withdraw funds before they were able to freeze the account. A logical step would be to enforce a 24hr (or some very reasonable time period) freeze on withdrawing from your account after a win (size of win could also be set). Or perhaps a freeze on your account that ensures that the value of the prize is still left in your account (that way you could withdraw, but you'd have to have sufficient funds available still to cover the prize value if you were investigated and ...

Re(3): On the verge of a seat (sattelite scenario) *now with hand #2*
IDK man, I think there is an argument both ways, so don't kick yourself too hard I agree w/ your logic of shoving hte Q4, but the reason to wait is to hope you get a better hand in the BB, which you did, you just go sickly unlucky to run into KK. So the debate is whether your fold equity of the Q4 hand was good enuf to risk running into anohter monster on that shove, or waiting to get better hand increases your odds. I prolly tend to agree with you that shoving hte Q4 w/ some FE would have been better, but the way it played out you got what you hoped for with the fold, IE a better hand for ...

Re(1): Thinking of swithching from FTP to Stars (feedback please on which is better?)
There is definitely more action on Stars, the tournies fill up much faster (180s), and the sheer volume of players in the low limit tournies is incredible. Makes for big payouts, but you have to navigate huge minefields. Be prepared for some bumps in your transition from Tilt's lower limit tournies to Stars, as the size of the fields makes the play in early stages more aggressive.

Re(3): How often do you call here?
Even with what you said about your read I think it's almost certainly a race. Unless you think he's really risking that much w/ air that makes you a 70-30 favorite or more. I don't think he's doin it with a premium hand, but give your read on him and your previous history with him, I can seem him doing that with any PP 66+, and 10J+. My ranges may be way off, but if not, you are only significantly ahead on two of his hands. You have to decide if you want to race or not to decide this question. Do you thinkyou can continue to pick spots to keep slowly chipping up/stayin average until you ...

Re(1): My toughest spot in Memory
Here's my take on the these kind of shove situations, which i liken also to having the flush hit on the turn when you're way ahead on the flop, and they check the turn, then lead out the river with a shove. They are hoping you will make the call much more often then they are bluffing. Your situation is tough cause you have the nut flush, but it aint the nutz after the river. I think (and I'm not calling you one at all) is a move used by mediocre to good players who are used to playing with donks. They don't value bet it, cause they figure, and possibly correctly, that it is +ev to shove ...

Fold. He's not folding. AQ blows. Ur 2nd. Better to steal later. Unless you know he's folding, you should. IMHO standard fold given blinds, stacksizes and payouts.

Re(1): whether to bet a dead pot
Ask yourself this - Is it of huge importance to eliminate the small stack' Would you bet on the flop if you ignore that there is a small stack all in' I think the answer to these questions means you could easily bet that pot. I mean, you've flopped and OE straight draw, a backdoor nutflush draw, and have an Ace high/an over. Unless it's late in a satty, or FT w/ big money jump for next one out, forget about one player being all in - play like you would normally w/ that flop w/ your hand. I also agree that raising to isolate the pusher would be a fine play given your assessment of his ...

Download pokerstove. It's free and it's incredibly informative. You can run hand versus hand, add in the board, and run a hand against hand ranges to get equity calculations. Plus is on your computer so you don't have to be online to do it. Great way to kill time and learn when your internet craps out on you or you have no access.

Re(4): Two questions about re-steal situation (20-25 BB's)
Agree with above. I've been wrestling with the question of whether an all in shove there looks weaker than a raise to say between 3600 - 4800, showing that you are more than likely pot committed. I keep finding myself in these situations where I get called when I shove by marginal hand like A10, and wondering if a non all in raise would have more credibility than the shove.

Re(1): Ever misclick and ....
Yes. Recently entered into the wrong satellite tournament on stars, cause the tourney list seems to constantly be in motion, and I joined some random 5$ sat instead of the one i wanted. Think I bubbled. Back in the day of Paradise, I multiple times misclicked and got into limit holdem tourneys. Fortunately, I broke even inthose misclicks by raising every hand every street tryin to bust, but built a good stack then sat out to get 2nd. I'm now much more careful. Lucky i never reged for something that would have damaged by BR significantly.

Re(3): Could someone Explain this bet!
IDK MC I have been seeing this a ton in the 5r to the miday 50K and nightly 50K. Tons of bad plays at that level by big stacks. I don't think there is a rational explanation that makes any poker sense, only the explanation that they do not understand how to play the endgame of a satellite. I've been fortunate in that none of the really bad plays like that have cost me my seat. Hope it didn't cost you yours (I feel confident it didn't). The only upside is that those are the same players that will have a seat locked up while your scrapping for yours, and will make some other silly play and ...

Re(1): Our Friends in Antigua
Don't know if you saw this thread WSJ article about how the US is trying to compensate the EU. I don't know how this would deal with the Antigua/Barbados side of the equation, but I think it indicates a proclivity of the administration to try to cut a compensatory deal rather than change the policy on internet gambling. Hopefully congress will be successful in passing some sort of legislation that improves the situation.
