What's your take on Eugenics?
IMO, proponents of eugenics beliefs are often tainted with racism and/or elitism. It's the belief that they are superior to another and the world would be better off without those lower level people. Intelligence, ability and talent can be measured in so many ways. It's a common to insult someone by saying please don't procreate but really how can anyone accurately predict who that persons future children will become'

Niceguy, my kids did not show any of signs of possible birth defects so the desire to rule out the possibilities was minimal. Especially considering how invasive the tests are and the heightened risk of miscarriage. However, had they shown the tell tale signs of an issue, I still believe we would have continued with the pregnancy. On to your point on how a child with a defect brings no value to society. My largest concern is we have no way of knowing the level of defect pre-birth and really not until the child has reached at least 2 years of age. Many brilliant minds and some savants ...

I don't know what or if there is a correct answer. I personally don't agree with PP but I think the topic is fascinating. I'll give you a personal example, my wife and I choose not to take the pre-natal tests that can be done to determine whether your fetus might have down syndrome or other possible diseases. We turned that option down. Our decision was that no matter what we were going to keep the baby and love it regardless. I forget the stats but the % was extremely high that when parents learn that their baby will be retarded, they almost always abort the fetus. That is a form of ...

It's definitely dirty. Barbara Harris, the CEO of PP doesn't sugar coat the issue. She has done studies and fully admits the money she gives the women goes directly to drugs. In fact, her advertising slogan has been, ""DON'T Let a Pregnancy get in the way of your crack habit."

No, From what i've read it's a pretty cheap procedure though. FYI: To receive the money, the clients have to show evidence they have been arrested on a drug-related offence, or provide a doctor's certificate saying they use drugs, and further evidence is needed confirming that the birth-control procedure has taken place.

In ABQ's thread I posed the question what's your take of the group Project Protection' I specifically avoided the term Eugenics because the word has a very negative connotation. My Wife Went and Prayed at an Abortion Clinic Today
Hey OP, This is a tough situation for a marriage. I am all about the position of supporting your significant others interests but this is toeing the line. I guess a lot depends on what is occurring outside the clinic. A no fly zone won't prevent the kidnaps, tourture and execution. We should not be invading a third country at this time.
