Would a cap mtt? Yes of course this would work in that a tournament could be run under cap rules - 30BB cap obv increases as the blinds increase so like in any tourney increasing blinds drives no. of players down to 1 eventually. The ISSUE here is that most online tourney's move to short-stacked play fairly quickly rendering the cap pointless to most. You'd need to devise a way round this eg. blinds increase in line with the av. chip stack, not time limits, to ensure average always stays above cap level (eg. 30BBs), or to reduce cap level down to say 25-20-15BBs after certain blind lvls.
