Deep Into MTTs Motivation Dicipline I don't think it's necessarily motivation that's lacking (with me anyway), it's more discipline and concentration. I do the same, I get in the money or approaching the final table after playing solid poker and then try and make the wrong move at the wrong time and waste about half my stack. Poker Volume Completely agree. Atm I'm only able to play approx 50 hours of poker per month due to work commitments and a g/f to keep happy. I also spend approx 10 hours per month on studying strategy videos/books/articles and reviewing hand histories etc. I think poker is all about continuous improvement no matter what level you're at.... Poker Volume Do you guys think there is too much emphasis on playing high volumes of poker' Should we multi-table as many tables as possible and play a bit like a robot or does this take away the skill of actually playing poker' I ask this because I'm only comfortable multi-tabling a max of 4 tables at a time on my laptop and the average amount of SNG's / MTT's per month I can fit in is around 100. I hear in alot of threads, on here and other forums, the advice given to players is to increase volume to reduce the affects of variance. Should I call in the BB here? Thanks for the advice guys. The reason why I posted the hand was to get some arguments for and against calling. My gut feeling at the time was that it was a marginal call and after looking at the Nash Results it was a definite call with any suited J and even J5o+. I don't normally pay any attention to the chat-box but I did get a bit of abuse from one of the players (not the villain) for the call. Anyway, here's how the hand played out.... Should I call in the BB here? Hi Guys, Fairly new to sit and go's and trying to understand ICM and pot odds etc. Below is a hand that played out in a 45-man turbo sit & go on stars. If I remember right there was about 12 or 13 players left at this stage. Should I call from the BB having already invested 325 chips in the pot and calling won't do serious damage to my stack if I lose the flip. Also, the villain in the SB is probably pushing a very wide range here.
