SCOOP 27$ Super KO ~
I probably wouldn't barrel turn since you fold out junk a lot. IF he's so loose that his range contains Q6/T6/63/Q3 then I could see this happening. If he's not that loose then Id lean more towards Qx of diamonds or possibly QT. With the question of what you do, well I think you need to jam or fold since it looks like he will have roughly a pot sized bet on the river and then you're in a really weird spot if you're trying to evaluate when he's most likely just jamming.

Late stage play is like an art form in my opinion. Try to look for who is weak and how to pick up chips easily. There's always one or two players per table deep in mtts that are sitting ducks. Basically, try to take the path of least resistence and rev your aggression vs players who will let you run them over and avoid players who won't.

Most degen thing I used to do is play NHL 10 on xbox for money with a buddy of mine. Used to be just $10 or $20 a series (7 games) but it got up to $100/series with an option for a double series ($200). Used to play anywhere from 2 or 3 games in a night to 3 straight series. It got to a ridiculous point of prop betting first goals, goals per period, shots on net etc. The funny thing about biggest bar/strip tab is that I don't remember it' Maybe those were the nights it was highest' I don't smoke. I would make an arguement for Stu Ungar being the best of all time. I've only watched a ...

Thanks for that, I appreciate it. At the same time, I made this well to help with poker related issues and I knew that I'd have to expose myself because of it, which is fine, but I don't like that the main focus of this is on things that involve basically, my family.

Its not impossible but it will be tough because you are constrained by time and stake levels. Have you conisdered low stakes cash games' I think playing low stakes cash with a mix of mtts, given your situation, might help build your roll and also improve your deep stack play in mtts. Also, how about 180 mans' I think the biggest problem when there's limited time is you think about the time that you have a lot. Knowing you only have x hours a night can sometimes force you to play, say, more hands to get stacks or make looser calls. From my experience, I used to have a schedule where I would ...

Well one thing I have to say is that playing for fun and seeing where it goes compared to playing for a living, are not even close to the same thing. With that being said, make sure you have a safety net of cash or some way of making some money in case you go through a rough period in poker. I would honestly suggest you grind while working, it will be less stressful and that way you can play better while playing less. For improving, become a student of the game. Not just in the sense that you talk hands with one of your friends, but I mean, crawl the forums here, post hands, take part in ...

I have never once forgotten what an influence you had on my growing as a player. Personally, I just thought it might be awkward for both of us if I did throw your name around here, but now I know its not the case. You did help me but I'm sure you will agree that for a decent amount of time we weren't exactly great friends. That's in the past though, and I do wish the best for you and Jorge as well No problem, glad I could help I'm not the greatest to answer this, and I'm going to sound old when I say this, I just don't care for too much of a social life. Not in the sense that I ...

I'm not really good at sngs since I haven't played a good amount in a very long time. When I used to play them I was awful at poker so not sure what advice I can besides learning math is probably your saving grace. If you know the math in an out, and not just ranges, but FE math, 3b/4b math, then you are certain to have an advantage. My hh replayer is my biggest tool. Without that, I'd be lost. Analyzing my hands or others hands is the best way to get better without actually playing. I would say that the ratio is somewhere between 2:1 and 1.5:1 right now. When I wasn't in school this summer, ...

I disagree with you completely. My biggest pet peeve is people saying they are trapped or can't change things. People aren't willing to try because its hard, well the hard things in life make life easy. People are broke because they take the easy way out. If you REALLY want to improve your standard of living, you have to work harder and sacrifice, just like anyone else who has made something out of themselves.

A lot of this is dependent on situation and flow really. Back in the day I used to run up monster stacks by not passing up small edges, and it also cost me stacks. Today, I would think more of the situation, like for example, If I'm deep in a $20 mtt and I know that I have an edge over the rest of the field, I may pass up on a flipping spot to preserve that edge. I don't really look to avoid or get into spots, I play them out as I recognize them. One thing that plagued me early in my career was trying to look for spots, all I did was level myself. If a spot presents itself that I feel will be ...

Well then, this is going to be a long reply. My callng range depends on a lot of things, like position, stage of the mtt and what mtt it is, players images. It's pretty difficult to set ranges in these spots without firm examples. If both players are awfully crazy and don't understand ranges, I may decided to get in a little lighter. At first, I would get a sense of when I was being too aggressive, but I never really knew. Now I can sense the table dynamics shifting pretty well. All of a sudden I'm getting 3b more or people don't fold to my cbets and float more, stuff like that where you ...

That's fine if you don't like me, I never met you so I can't say the same about you. To me though, you seem pretty ridiculous to sit there and say "its a sick story", but then again thats your opinion. I learned a very long time ago I'm not going to please everyone in this world my decisions, and I'm ok with that. What's worse is you made up your mind based on, at most, half the facts. So again, there are going to be people here who are going to keep bringing this up and basing their whole judgement of me based on one situation, which I'm ok with like I said before. Some people can't let go ...

I wouldn't recommend quitting school unless you are at the top of the top. I never went to college straight out of high school so poker was something that I basically wound up in because I thought it was my best option. With me going back to school now, at 24, I am seeing that poker is something that I want to be great at, but I have other talents. That fact alone, takes a lot of pressure off of me and I'm sure many could agree to that fact. You can still go to school and be a pro, just manage your time wisely. Well what happened was that I won a few toruneys and figured if I could spend ...

I register for pretty much the same mtts everyday, the only variable is the time or how long I plan on playing that day. Very rarely do I add different mtts but I will do it if I feel the need to mix things up a bit, like if I were in a slump, I may add a lower buy in mtt just to get my confidence going again. I also believe in having certain mtts as a comfort zone. A couple of years ago it was the $22 1r1a on stars or the $26 2pm est on ftp, now its the big $55 or to some extent, the big $162. I used to play a ridiculous amount, now I'm lucky to get in 50 a week.

One hand that sticks out in my mind is more for comedic value at the time. Was 8 handed at the early $109 ft on a Sunday and I get AA I'm about 40bbs deep and before I raise I just said to myself "I'm going to raise and cooler the shit out of jcamby". Not sure why I thought that, wasn't any hatefulness or anything like that, I just felt he was gonna ship it on me. He did, he had AQo and about 30bbs. Another one was a massive suckout on the final table buble of the FTOPs event I got 5th in. AJK opens the btn, I flat ATo in the sb and bb squezzes, I'm the short stack with ~30bbs. Guy in bb had ...

Full Tilt is a tough spot. I really like the software but I'd probably be shaky on the management so I'd have to learn about them first. My routine has evolved from the lazy to the productive. At first I'd wake up 15 minutes before playing, order some take out, and play all day, just to repeat it the next day. I then read an article about a player having a morning routine where he would get up, maybe run, eat a good breakfast etc. Whole point was that he wanted his blood flowing before he played, so I started doing that. Now, I'm usually up very early in the day and I work on other things ...

Its not hypothetical for the most part, and my response is marry her, which is what ended up happening. There wasn't spite or hate, its just something that happens. I've been happily married for over a year now and thats all that really matters. I would really hope to keep this thread based on poker, and hopefully people will still ask poker questions instead of looking for drama. For the Sunday Mill/WU, I'd say play some of the low buy in shootouts or the low buy in rebuy turbos. Its more important to not stretch your roll too thin by thinking you have get it, then end up spending what ...

I have learned a ton on p5s. Most importantly, I learned that there isn't a set way to play poker and that all players are different, I basically learned to think outside the box. When I post in PD, I learn a lot as well. The saying "those who can't do, teach" is meaningless to me in poker. Poker is a game where, if you can't explain your thoughts, you will eventually get eaten alive. So teaching and posting help me by forcing me to understand what it is I'm trying to say. I don't really have a favourite site, some software is better than other I guess but it's all the same to me, I'm there ...
