Re:Re(2): Best basketball movie ever made
Hoop Dreams - "This documentary follows two inner-city Chicago residents, Arthur Agee and William Gates, as they follow their dreams of becoming basketball superstars. Beginning at the start of their high school years, and ending almost 5 years later, as they start college, we watch the boys mature into men, still retaining their "Hoop Dreams". Both are recruited into the same elite high school as their idol, former Detroit Piston superstar Isaiah Thomas. Only one survives the first year; the other must return to a high school closer to his home. Along the way, there is much ...

Re(7): Steak (as in food) in vegas???
Have been to a few listed and here are my favourites in order: N9ne - excellent surf and turf (lobster and 8 oz filet) - about $50 so not too bad price wise. Delmonico - nice ambience wide selection of food BOA - excellent service Craftsteak - had the best meal of our lives here - flat steak and 1.5 lb of crab meat soaked in butter but last few times we have been have not been as good. SW - ok but thought it was overrated. Kind of loud. Most enjoyable part was laughing at all of the old men with surgically enhanced trophy wives.

Re(1): Sandals resorts...
Wife and I went to Sandals St Lucia - Halcyon about 10 years ago. It's the smaller of what was at the time two resorts now three. We also spent a day at what is now called Regency St. Lucia (to golf, hang out at the pool and have dinner). I don't think you can go wrong with any Sandals - beautiful accomodations, excellent restaurants, the ultimate all-inclusive. Sandals is the ultimate vacation - after going once any other all-inclusive is a let down.

Re(3): I got the shanks, plz help me OT golfers
It could be many things as noted by others but for me I tend to duck hook/pull hook when I am too far away from the ball (as noted by gbmantis). When I am too far away my swing tends to be around my body (i.e feels more like a baseball swing). Conversely when I am too close it's going the opposite way since the swing is too vertical to make up for being in tight to the ball.

Re(2): Where to eat in Vegas?
Craftsteak was my favourite until I went to Delmonico's. I'm guessing that with a drink or two you'll be in the $125-150 range. It's worth it.

Re(1): Nice Trick with the UB chop Orionhigh
I watched that go down as well. It was pretty clear that they had agreed to chop it 50:50. Hopefully Orionhigh is not a complete POS and honors the deal he made. Once again shows why Pokerstars is the place to play. Best joke in the chat box - "Surely an administrator is watching this final table and will come to help facilitate a chop." Yeah right!

Re(1): Restaurant List for those at WSOP
Higher end - Delmonicos at the Venetian and Craftsteak at MGM were both excellent. Mon Ami Gabi at Paris - nice outdoor patio - although probably too hot in the summer - probably good for early evening though.

Re(5): Play a $55+5 turbo SNG with me (long and informative, buckle your seatbelts)
I appreciate the time and effort you put into the post Jenn. Is your analysis perfect - I'm sure it is not but at least you made an effort and if people reading take a couple of things from it I am sure that on balance they will improve as players. YTIU is being a dickhead maybe it doesn't seem that way if you are 18 or 19 years old but he is. YTIU is obviously an excellent player but if you really want to add something to the forum then provide some specific flaws in the analysis (you point out a couple but then just start spewing again so I almost missed them). Through that type of ...

Re(1): Jennifear
Had two sessions with Jenn last fall. Definitely helped out my game overall. For one of the sessions she played through a couple of SNG's with me (telling her my hole cards through messenger). The other session was where I sent her a few SNG hand histories and we went through them to poke holes in my play. Her sharkscope stats speak for themselves she knows what she's doing. I found her to be a very nice person to talk to and the lessons were definitely worth the money.

Min raises at low limits big hands or just bad players?
Early in a $5.50. Just moved to the table and have no real read on the guy. It seems to me that more often than not min raises turn out to be aa or kk. What's your play here' Fold, call, reraise or push' I didn't like calling - aces and kings hit the flop too often and spending 25-30% of my stack doing that didn't seem to make sense. If I'm going to stay in I would have likely pushed. In the end I convinced myself that the min raise was a good hand like aa kk maybe aks and folded. If you define the best tourney structure as the one that allows the most play i.e. the one that would result in you lasting the longest if you just blind out it is UB by far.

Re(1): Sklansky vs. Harrington
I think comparing the two books you refer to is a little bit like apples to oranges. The Sklansky book is written with NL cash games in mind and Harrington of course with respect to tournaments. Sklansky is deeper at a theoretical level. However, I have not read a Sklansky book on NL tournament play that can compare with HOH. I understand Harrington is coming out with a NL cash book in the near future. The comparison will be better made after that book is released.

Re(1): The mistakes Low-Limit SNG players are making the most!
Jen, It's nice to be reading a post that is about playing poker for a change. Nice article. I recently had a lesson with Jen and found it to be very beneficial (working with Jen was a great experience - I almost don't want to say that because I'm sure she'll just increase her fees again lol - I would highly recommend it to anyone who plays low level SNG's). So far I was a winning player in SNG's ($5 level around 25% ROI - albeit on a small sample size of around 250). That being said I would have been characterized as weak tight. Generally if I got some hands I was going to cash and if I ...

20-30 minute drive from airport to Paradise Island. We stayed at Riu Paradise Island (all inclusive) for 3 days in March. It is right next to Atlantis for probably 60% of the price. It is on the same beach as the Atlantis. We spent much of the trip at the Atlantis casino/restaurants etc.

Re(1): Serious SNG hand quiz FREE $25 if you figure it out
Here's my $0.02 worth: 1. I fold AK. I think I like flops is pushing with a wide range of hands since he is going to be in the blinds in the next two hands. With respect to Fat Fool there is good chance you have him dominated but I think there is also a reasonable chance that he has a small pocket pair. Of course I like to win but when it comes down to it I play poker to make money so I'm not going to risk a coin flip when I can fold and see how I like flops fairs against Fat Fool. Worse case he wins but I've still got Chinchati 2-1 in chips and he's got the blinds hitting him in 2 ...
