Re(3): I don't even know what to say to this one.
ended up getting 7th i think. i think i could have played slightly better obviously ... i wasn't playing 100% focused. haha, i think it would be wise in the future to not be watching "she's the man" while trying to close a tournament speaking of which, it was a very strange tournament. i made some of the bigger laydowns of my life especially after two people showed me some ridiculous bluffs. i felt like my timing was so off the whole tournament - really seems incredible that i made it that far... as far as getting over the hump - well, i'm not sure what you're talking about b/c you seem to ...

Re(2): Deep in MTT and Dealing with Resteals. Thoughts Please!!
open up your calling range when you raise in LP. people are restealing with all kinds of junk. you see KJ, K10 type hands doing it all the time. any ace, pairs, etc. unless the blinds play really tight, do not try and steal (unless you are shoving all in) with hands you are not willing to call shoves with against the smaller stacks.

Re(2): At the final table of a $10 180-man
i don't think the 8,3 hand is awful but if you honestly think he is making a move with K5, there is no way you should not have reraised preflop. it worked out well for you, but you should never ever ever call in that spot with that hand.

Re(5): #1 Pen's Article...
if, given the dynamic of the table, it would be unwise to raise 66 in EP of a tournament b/c you stand the chance of being reraised... then fold. also, it is probably just a good idea not to play this hand at all in ep no matter what if you're sitting with less than 30 BB's unless your table is very tight and scared of EP raises. at least that's my point of view. if you play only to hit your hand, you will win few pots. if you play situational poker and aggresively, you will win many more pots.

Re(4): #1 Pen's Article...
"what are you talking about wanting to raise a SC after 7 limps as well' limping in (in low buyin tourneys) during the earliest lvls after a few limpers w/ sc, high cards or low pairs is fine, standard even." maybe it's just me, but if i were on the button or cutoff holding pretty much anything remotely decent (and also with big pairs), i would think that after a few limpers it would be more profitable to raise 5-6x the big blind here to thin the field and "outplay" opponents postflop. i can see calling 3x the bb raise in the cutoff/button in the very early stages with a suited connector ...

super, you make your point, and then when anyone chooses to discuss the point you made, you LOL at them. did you really want to discuss anything' or were you just looking to say how you felt and view any other player's opinion as petty' and if my last sentence was so obvious... why would you ever make a weak play' does that make a winner'

Re(12): #1 Pen's Article...
no you don't lose more when you miss. maybe some of the time, but your argument of outplaying here is your ability to better place an opponent on a specific hand after they limp/call a raise. you can bet with any two on almost any flop and take it down a lot of the time. more often than not, the limp/callers will not hit the flop... just the same as you will more often than not hit the flop. that is why position and perception is important.

Re(11): #1 Pen's Article...
i agree with jeric. say you are on the button in the early stages of a tournament or a full ring cash game with a few limpers ahead of you. if you raise, you have the advantage of position and the perception as the aggressor, and you are likely to take down a large number of moderate sized pots after the flop. if you just limp here, i can't imagine you win that pot as often, and you win a very big pot rarely. calling is weak, raising is strong.

this wasn't a sick call... he had 67 and ape was playing the hand regardless of the flop... and it's not like there were many more chips to take from ape even if he did hit his hand knowing ape had AK. reloaded please stop defending riverrat's play... it really was awful. think of how often he would completely miss the flop and have to fold there for that extra 27K he put in there

Re(3): Ari, Mantis, sheets,Jeff, ect. and all others I need some thoughts on this hand.
i agree with whoever said to just call and see a flop. aggressive players (esp. those that are tilting) usually do not stop betting no matter what the flop is - however, many times they would fold to a substantial or strong reraise preflop (unless they do actually have a hand to call with). i don't think there is anything wrong with going all in though, but i like calling there just because i figure i am more likely to get him to put all his chips in behind, which with your hand, he will most likely be doing.
