Re(2): Best movies that most people havent seen. ^^^^^Very Good film Dyzalot...hard to find too. My suggestions: 1. Frailty (Excellent mind-f*** movie) 2. The Mothman Prophesies (...on the order of The X-Files) 3. Lords of Dogtown 4. The Cincinnati Kid (Best all-time Poker movie next to Rounders...surprised I didn't see it listed) 5. And my favorite movie...if you haven't seen it: Training Day --Tricky Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(4): Risk tournament life on a coin flip? I know what you mean...even though you're a slight favorite in a scenario like that...I'd make the same push and when I win the coinflip I would just say "52/48 GG" Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Risk tournament life on a coin flip? ^^^^Agree w/ keylow63...in those situations...this makes total sense!!! For your second point I would make sure that it is the person/s that continually reraise me and not a tighter player that tends to also back down to reraises if at all possible...but then again this is heavily read dependent so you may find yourself flipping anyhow to make a stand but I try to avoid that scenario. --Tricky Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): How Often Does This Happen??? Thx NYRocketMan...I was wondering what the statistics were on this. I loved his call...then push on the turn when the board is already paired and I raised heavy to shut him down. I thought maybe I was outkicked but then I saw the river and was like....okay, I'm playing at the $10 level...still doesn't make any sense to me!'! Posted in: Bad Beats |

How Often Does This Happen??? Sit n Go ($10) on UB. Villian was raising a lot especially oop. I simply called w/ a suited connector but even a raise back at him was not going to shake him off this hand. What are the odds of him hitting runner 7, runner 7' This is my first and only Bad Beat post. Criticism welcomed. Re(6): Working Full time, family and Poker.. I would say the same thing no matter what the hell someone does with their time but family responsibility is family responsibility and if you don't give a shit about your family well then don't post here asking if Poker has caused you to get a divorce. I don't really care what the reasons are I was just posting an opinion about how to handle the issue posed in a reasonable way. If it's none of our business then don't ask. Its easy to bash someone for offering an opinion when you don't have one yourself so GTFO. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Working Full time, family and Poker.. [Has anyone ever gotten divorced with poker being a key component of the problem..and the problem is not money/losing etc..it's the time committment.] This is what they were commenting on larrygold. It sounds to me like Poker is NOT the issue...but rather you are not fulfilling your family responsibilities as previously stated. IMHO: Seek professional family counseling through a Licensend Clinical Social Worker. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Bad Run Advice What I have been doing to counteract Variance is: 1. Accept the fact that I may be making critical mistakes at key stages of the game due to tilt and general frustration. I am the 1st person to admit that I may be opening holes in my game that weren't there a month ago. 2. To take a step away from grinding it out in my normal games and move on to other games for a fresh perspective. 7 stud, Omaha, Omaha 8b for example, necessitates a different strategy and thus a different way at looking at your game. It will force you to play 'outside' the confines of 'our' game that we become so ... Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(4): Recent $30 SNG - Did I make a critical mistake? GuyC...your move was excellent. Villain's call was horrible even if he had you covered. My guess is that he'll either get rewarded for bad play or end up donking off his deep stack to someone else later on. What is really important here is the fact that you made a stand at the right time. --Tricky Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(7): Hand for turbo grinders BomboKlaat - That was extremely insightful and I see your point as well. Most posters agree with you and I can completely see all your points. When the math is involved...that usually dictates a results oriented outcome to whether or not to Push/Fold. Raising here NOT being an option...I suppose now I could see why a push 'may' be a good option. Now this is just my opinion in that...the blinds have not gone up yet but 11BB is GO Time as you stated. I have NO problem with that. For me personally, I would still wait and if it came down to the next blind level...I would be forced to shove ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): Hand for turbo grinders BomboKlaat - Results oriented is wanting to know if this is 'always' a push/fold situation. You disagree with my earlier post where I stated that this spot warrants an open-fold. You asked me if I always open fold this hand at a larger table and then turn around and say that this is the same situation (5 handed). To be more clear to my point...no I don't always open-fold this hand but in this spot...I don't see a reason to race my stack off with a marginal drawing hand...I would much rather see a push here with a slightly stronger holding such as 88-JJ so I suggested a range that would be ... Re(3): Hand for turbo grinders I would think differently if you were holding 88-JJ...then I would say a shove is justified in this spot but not with AJ. If you want to think so results oriented then just look up what the outcome was and that should tell if if it was a good shove or not. Again, just my O...for what its worth. --Tricky Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): A Question for those that may play a little more LAG than me Niceguy...you're correct, that is assuming that the BB put Sassy on a drawing hand (not a made one) which is an absolute donk move to begin with. The only thing this guy could hope for is that he comes out on top of a potential race in which case, then, he would still have 13 big blinds if he loses. Horrible play by this guy to put himself at 13 big blinds where it is now basically push/fold mode. Sassy...I don't know if you can you can actually analyze this guy's thought process since it is extremely flawed. The only question I have for you is...how often has he seen you shove and how many ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Playing several sit n go tables at once Are you keeping notes on the players at your tables' I like to note particular situations where the other players 'have' to show what they were holding at showdown in relation to position, blind level, and chip stack size. That can tell you a lot at-a-glance. There are several Poker Tracker software offerings that will give you a whole lot more information on players but I have not used these personally but maybe its not a bad idea since other ppl are using it against me. Just my humble opinion. --tricky Posted in: Poker Discussion |
