In the 2007 Main Event the same thing happened and they allowed the overflow (about 100 players) to be seated as alternates. Only took two levels to seat them all.

Wouldn't a 'AP poker players recovery fund' be more beneficial going forward for this' If everyone that is being refunded money from AP donated 10% to this fund. Nat would have the funds necessary to continue the investigation in either costa rica or canada. He would be able to compensate people who gave him solid leads and worked long hours on this. Who knows what other skeletons may drop out of the closet if people thought they might get paid for their efforts to come forward.

Bruno, The 280p is last year's model, came with Win XP. If you can still find one around you can probably get it for under $1k. This year's model the 380n and 390p, comes with Win Vista, I've seen at Bestbuy for about $1700-$1800. I'm waiting for them to come out with a 2gb ram and 100gb HDD model to upgrade from the 280p. The screen is 4.5inches, to get a feel for what the screen size is, take a Motorola Q or Treo, put it sideways, and the screen is the size of the phone.

The quote is "Western Union strictly prohibits the use of its Internet service to directly or indirectly fund illegal Internet gambling and/or illegal activities." So why would their internet service be any different than their walkup service'

Poker is totally different from a stock portfolio. When one invest in stocks he can carryover losses from a bad year in the market indefinitely and offset them against gains in future years. But in poker if you lose $100k in one year and make $100k the next year, you cannot offset the losing year with the winning year and not pay taxes. So even though your bankroll has not made any money in that 2 year span. The US government will still take 35% of its cut in the second year when you netted the $100k.
