WSOPE Rules I am planning on traveling to London in September to play in the WSOPE. I have heard that there is a rule in London that you have to register with the casino 24 hours prior to being allowed to play. Is this true' Are there any other quirks that I need to know about before booking travel' Anyone have any other advise for this trip' Thanks in advance. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Copying tests WoW. Where do I start. Pretty much any class that would allow a calculator I used my TI85 and programmed all formulas/examples/practice problems. I even went as far as to program an entire chapter in for Mechanics of Materials (bullshit momorization for first half of class) I would say my crowning achievment in cheating came senior year of college in a bullshit class called Earth and Atmospheric Sciences which had nothing to do with my degree and was a general waste of time. My good friend worked in the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences department part time. We would break into the office of ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): Hand Analysis. What would you do with your Jh Jc?... Fold, either you were outflopped our outdrawn, most likely outdrawn in this spot based on your reads of your opponent, he has to have at least 2 pr to make that bet. You should avoid this situation by making a bigger raise on the flop, you are giving both opponents very very good odds to see the turn while not really gaining much more information. A more solid raise to 500 or 550 into the 850 pot would give them worse odds while still allowing you to get away from your hand. J Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Pokerstars Beep Noise The only way I can think of to do this would be to modify the sound file in the pokerstars software that is the beep. You could find this file, use the correct sound editing software, decrease the volume and save the new file with the same name as the old one. This should make the beep softer with respect to the other sounds on your computer. J Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Harrington on Hold 'Em Question 1) If you have the money I would buy the 3rd one, otherwise 1 and 2 will do fine to make you a much better tourney player. 2) Yes, I would say that HOH improves recognition of where your stack size stands in relation to the field and blinds and what to do with the cards when you stack size is this and position is this.. 3) I would read 1 and 2 before you play. Then try and implement and afterwards buy 3 and read it. 4) Anyone that does not find these books helpful is not a good poker player. Doesnt mean you have to implement everything he says, just another perspective that is very useful ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Dimtri Nobles = Tiffany Williamson or Aaron Kantor? Not sure who is worse but he did make the worst call I think Ive ever seen in live poker. His call with J 9 on a Q J T 7 5 board against the tight preflop raisers all in was just horrific. If you think about it there is not one hand that he could beat the raiser could have. MAYBE 99, but taking into consideration the 9 in his hand that would be such a stretch. He insta called as well, just horrible. J Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Hand from $109R It is very difficult to illicit genuine advice when you show the result in the OP. You can make a case for raising with TT in pos here, however I understand your call with the CL who I can only assume was playing agressive based on this hand. The best constructive criticism I can offer is to play more agressive against a big stack at this stage in the tourney, you really want to gain a bit more information about his hand preflop by raising. You could bump to 3K here and he may fold, although with his stack size he might call and you lose your chips anyway. J Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): G.A. I will read these and PM you tommorow. Before I read I believe that if someone is not ready to quit then they are not ready to recover. Diff people have Diff bottoms, some may need only to lose their mortgage payment 1 month and they figure it out. Others may need to have a couple knees busted before they realize they are out of control and cannot stop. I dont believe that someone who is not ready to stop completely can be helped at all. They must go lower until they are ready to admit they have a problem and move on with their life. If my client did not accept abstinance I would encourage ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): G.A. 12 Step programs are non-profit. Also they have no dues or fees. Furthermore they do not promote themselves. A vast majority of people fail treating addiction because it is extemely hard to 1. diagnose and 2. treat. What do you think the recovery rate is for lung cancer . . . do you think we should do away with lung cancer research and treatment' An addict is someone who can not stop partaking in an activity or substance even though they know it is wrong and bad and ruining their lives. Re(2): SH Limit Holdem Image Good Well thought out reply. Its almost like table selection, except it goes beyond picking a table with weak players. Re(3): G.A. Please point to research that shows controlled moderation methods can be effective. 12 step programs to my knowledge are the only proven effective method for treating addiction that has held any weight over time. I have seen countless people that have tried moderation and they have failed time and time again. Bottom Line I dont claim to be an addiction recovery expert, I am very open minded and would love to believe that moderation can work for a true addict. Truth is I have seen it many times and it has Never worked for anyone I know. BTW if you come back with some Wendy Freizen hypnotism ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): G.A. They have the right to voice their opinion just like anyone else. Anyone who has dealt with an addiction should realize that it is a disease just like cancer or AIDS. They addicted gambler is no more able to control their actions than a cancer patient is able to cure his tumor. Many people will tell you will power this . . . personal accountability that . . . and they are right that this is the problem for many players. A Gambling addict is not one of those player, they by definition are not able to control their Gambling and no amount of will power or personal accountability will help until ... SH Limit Holdem Image Something I was pondering last night after my session. I play 5/10, 10/20 SH Limit Holdem regularly over most sites and have won and lost many times. I have developed a theory I believe will help my win rate and it has only to do with table image. Last night I noticed that when I sit down at a table and win the first showdown(not stealing blinds or raising and c-betting to take it down) my winning rate at the table is much higher than normal. I believe that most players will develop their view of your image in quickly as any good player must in a short handed game. When I sit down and win ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Another Omaha Situation/Discussion I think you need to bet pot here to build the pot so that you can drive out flush and set draws on the turn. I would bet the pot and call a raise. Then pending an off suit K on the turn I would bet the pot again to drive out the draws. J Posted in: Poker Discussion |
