Re(1): Proper Bankroll for $20 SNG
I play $20 sngs exclusively. I find that I could survive with a bankroll of $200, but that involves sometimes getting down to my last 1 or 2 buy-ins. I prefer a $400 bankroll, which never dips below $100 and I therefore never feel pressure.

Re(3): party players to stars
I would say I'm a fairly respected player and, further, I've taken more than my fair share of statistics courses. I never thought any site was rigged in any way. After tens of thousands of hands on UB and Party over 2 years, I joined Stars and immediately began seeing a plethora of runner-runner beats and royal flushes, almost exactly the same experience Shamhawks described. To this day, I still have never seen any of the beats on UB that I have seen on Stars. In fact, Stars is the one and only site that I refuse to play on because of the ridiculous things I've seen on there. Legggy will ...

Re(1): Letter from Clonie Gowen to PocketFives
A couple comments... 1) Pocket Fives members getting a freeroll from FTP and an apology from her makes no sense at all to me. A P5er discovered the plagiarism, but it's not like she posted her article on P5s or did anything against the Pocket Fives community. That is like a teacher getting a reward for discovering a student cheating. 2) I believe her apology/story about as much as I believed JJProdigy and his grandmother. Sure, both Clonie's and JJ's were possible, but they were also unlikely to be true. 3) I am glad that P5s/P5ers are using the site to better the poker world! -Brian

Party Hand for Hand?
Is it just me or is their hand for hand play messed up' Also, do you have a push a button to activate your time bank on Party or is it automatic' Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian EDIT: Seems to me that when somebody from your table busts during hand for hand play, the other tables go on to the next hand and your table misses out

Re(2): Johnny Bax VS Tiffany Williamson
Easy money, no. Terrific expected return on investment, yes. Though I was as disgusted by her play last year as anyone else was, she did somehow make it deep. How' Because in any given tourney there is an extraordinary amount of luck involved, and luck is more important in any given tourney than skill is (notice I am saying in ONE tournament). I would only make these last longer bets if I made several dozen of them in the same event to even out the variance that this year's World Donk Fest of Poker 2006 will no doubt create. -Brian

Re(5): WSOP - To become Stars sponsored player(Wear gear) or not?
The Strip is where all the main hotels in Vegas are. It's just a name for a section of Las Vegas Boulevard. Rio is technically not on the Strip, but it's 2 or 3 kilometers away from Treasure Island and you can easily grab a cab any time of day. It will take you probably 10 minutes to get from Treasure Island to Rio just because there is a lot of traffic on Las Vegas Blvd. You could walk it, but late at night after playing cards all day you'll probably be too tired and want to go to sleep right away. Walking would take about 25-30 minutes. A cab will cost you less than $10. You could easily ...

Thanks in advance to anybody who can help me either getting a screen shot up or telling me how I can fix the PP problem. -Brian SOLVED: I took the advice of a couple people and did the following: Control Panel ---> Appearance and Themes ---> Display ---> Settings ---> Advanced Under the General tab, there is a DPI setting menu, set it to 96 (normal), and then be sure to Apply and then ...

Re(3): ONLINE POKER ETHICAL
If doing something that is against the rules is unethical just because it is against the rules, then boy are we f***ed. Here are some examples: 1) Online poker: illegal' Yes. Unethical' No. 2) It used to be illegal to "play in an attempt to win money" on Party Poker. No joke, this was in their Terms & Conditions 2 years ago. So is it unethical for me to go all in with AA because their rules say I can't play to win' 3) Here is another one from Party's current Terms & Conditions: 18. Disclosure of Account name and password. You agree to keep your Account name and password secret and ...

Re(1): ONLINE POKER ETHICAL
Generally anytime somebody asks "Is this ____ ethical'" it's usually a yes in my eyes. In your case, though, I don't think this could be considered unethical in any way whatsoever. You are getting play chips by having Stars reload your account - which is obviously fine since Stars does it -and simply dumping them to yourself, which hurts no one. Why would it be unethical to sell these play chips' The buyer could do the exact same thing himself. Furthermore, the buyer is an idiot, because he could do the exact same thing himself! Finally, does anybody lose anything in this scheme' You get ...

Pleasantly surprised by Poker Share
After receiving e-mails about Poker Share's re-opening, I decided to take a look at my account with no intention of even using it. I logged in and had a $100 cash balance waiting as well as my share points from before. I've never got a no-strings cash balance from any site before, and I wasn't even paying a lot of rake when I was playing there. Furthermore, when I looked at the Share points store (similar to frequent player points), I saw that you can redeem your points directly for cash of WSOP buy-ins at pretty good exchange rates. And no I don't have any connection to Poker Share or ...

Re(1): POKERROOM SKIN STOLE MY $$$$$
I spoke to Poker Room support and they said that they will have all the payouts for the effected games settled within 24-48 hours. Nevertheless, some people did have their money quickly. I think that the staff is just going through all the games that were going on at the time the server crashed 1 by 1 and appropriating the money. I'm giving them a little slack on this one. All sites at one time or another have problems and as long as they keep to their word of 24-48 hours I'll be fine with it. -Brian

Re(1): Jesus Ferguson ran up a $1
The story is true. I have his UB name through a mutual friend and often watched him play, although I didn't get his name until he was already playing $5-10 NL so I can't comment about the penny games. The strategy he employed while doing this was to use "magic glasses". He would buy in for the minimum amount (or very close to it) at a cash no limit table and because he was short-stacked, he would be all-in or be pot-commited preflop or on the flop. That's what the magic glasses are - because he would have all or most of his chips in, he got to see 4th and 5th street for "free". Don't bother ...

Have any of you ever used online banking' Well, for those of you who haven't, every 3rd or 4th sunday morning, most online banking web sites go offline to upgrade. Re(1): Tourney schedule in Vegas
Just check out each casino's website, they have everything on there. The Orleans, Binion's, and Flamingo all have nightly tourneys in the $50- $100 range. Mirage has nightly tourneys that range from $100 freezeout to $300 rebuy, but if you want to play at Mirage you best get there very early (at least 2 hours before the tourney starts - you can sign up, leave, and come back), and if you really want to play it, try their single table satellites that start filling up around 11 am, because then you're guaranteed a seat. -Brian

Roth IRA: You cannot deduct your investment on this year's taxes, but all your earnings are tax-free. 2. Any financial services company. Charles Schwab, Fidelity, etc...just go their websites and you will find it very easy to learn about and open IRAs.
