Went deep into tourny, then this "wtf do i do" spot... help!
It recently got down to 24 people from 2500+ and i got moved to this new table with reads on only a few of these people, the villian not included. I feel relatively comfortable with 20BB since it recently changed to 2500-5k blinds. Lambert guy is very LAG and has been yo-yoing alllll day. i sat with him for over 2 hours, and hes easily trapped. Never sat with Solomon (villian) Game #23817921055: Tournament #131666480, $1.00+$0.10 Hold'em No Limit - Level XVIII (2500/5000) - 2009/01/11 22:52:22 CT [2009/01/11 23:52:22 ET] Table '131666480 287' 9-max Seat #2 is the button Seat 1: ...

Re:Serious SNG Players... Please Help.
I notice two resounding themes. 1) Jennifear... check. already contacted her. 2) Turbos > Regular. I myself am pretty much TAG and change gears "normally" when the shoe fits... hence why i like regular cause theyre slower, i find myself chosing "better" spots. They do def take longer and i remember it took me a while to make the change from reg to turbo a few years back. So are they really THAT much different now' I know volume is everything... but id give up some volume for more "quality play". Or does Quality not trump Quantity anymore'

Re:Serious SNG Players... Please Help.
thanks everyone. i know not to expect a 25% roi for ever... thatd be stupid to assume, but im curious as to know what itll be at 1000, then 1500.. and so forth. Ive been lookin at jennifears stuff and had NO IDEA there are "equity calculators"... ICM''''' (dont even know what that is)... blows me away how much its all changed in a few years.

Re:Serious SNG Players... Please Help.
i dont see how i would "need" to table mor than 3 at a time' im not worried about making a living off of this. i dont need to pay the bills from these sngs... those already covered. and whats this "session with jennifear"''' she has a paysite or somethin'

Serious SNG Players... Please Help.
This "advice" thread will hopefully be read by a few serious SNG people who can give sound advice. This is not meant to brag or boast, but is a legit question from someone looking for a little direction. Been playin cards for a few years now, was semi serious a few years back, took a year or so off (minus sporadic holiday break play and such) and recently decided to take the game back up after a friend mentioned the idea to me. Im a sng guy, though i like MTT, i feel more comfortable at single table SNG. I believe my numbers are halfway decent, though a semi-small ...

Re(2): a real SMART SUGGESTION for the rankings!
TML, your also forgetting that this is a CURRENT rankings, not lifetime. sure giga gets the lifetime internet whiz award but show me his current wins vs the people at the top of the leadeboard now... doing it more doesnt neccecarily make you the best... ex TJ cloutier, prolly most NL MTT wins ever... granted still owns... but to be honest, if i had the choice to back TJ or back someone like Below, JB or numerous other players, id choose the latter. times change. ex #2, 1980's yankees. still had more rings than anyone else, but they were god aweful... they wouldnt have been ranked just cuz ...

Re(4): a real SMART SUGGESTION for the rankings!
mathematically, it has the potential to get ugly. take redsoxsox's streak for example. when he went on that rediculous tear in the 109Rs for what seemed like ever, he posted sick numbers in march mainly. though his reign of terror lasted much longer... in march alone... he had 10 FT's (all 109R) and a 26th in the 150 freezeout. in those 10FT, he won 4,, got 2nd twice and 3rd, 4th 5th and 6th each ONCE... take those 10 spots add em up,= 27/10 tournies thats 2.7. this would hands down win. i dont care what anyone says. im not sure anyone else has run like that in a month. im not excluding ...

Re(1): sheets hand
no i dont think sheets sees it as a squeeze play at all. i crunched some numbers and when frozenveins shoves... theres 132K(ish) in the pot... sheets essentially then re raises rthe pot (another 122K more)... if he were to flat call the shove... hed end up leaving 52K behind and the pot would be 202K and hes be laying 3-1 odds for STORPIKE to call. Flat calling is attrocious here especially with leaving so little behind.... STOR pike imo would be correct to call qwith almost any two there if he was laid 3-1 in that spot... sheets got all his money in attempt to ISO... but not cuz he though ...

Attention Low Limit SNG players...
i actually just ended a break from online poker and randomly signed onto Bodog last night and to my suprise... i had 22 bucks and change left (maybe they felt guilty for "taking" 1100 off of me on back to back hands in 1-2 and gave me 20 bucks but thats another story) so im scrolling through the SNG list and i see these Beginner "tournaments". Theyre SNGs (10 person) that pays 5 people. 30-25-20-15-10%... i played a few and the play is next to god aweful. They have 4.40's and 8.80s. Ive already almost doubled what i started with and ive only played 4 of them Just felt like sharing and ...

Re(3): Ever fold set in cash game?
not to be a prick... but yes. opportunities arise more than you think.. ex1 board 2s-7s-Js-Ks-Xh you have JJ... middle set... no spade. you bet get re popped all in... ex 2 board 4-5-6-7 rainbow you have 77, top set.. you bet, seat 2 raises, seat 3 re raises.. seat 4 shoves... you still have outs technically.. but your folding.
