Caeser's Mega Stacks/Venetian Deep Stacks Wishful Thinking Questions
I am headed out to Vegas next week with family and will have some limited time to play. I wanted to play either the Venetian DS or Caeser's MS. I have a few questions: 1. How many entries have these tournament series been getting' 2. How many play the 2nd day' 3. If all goes well, what time does play on the 2nd day start' 4. Which do you recommend' Thanks a lot -- all help is appreciated.

Re:Jeff Reed...
It's ironic you call Roethisberger overrated, when Brett Favre is the most over-rated QB in NFL history. It's not that I'm saying he is a bad QB, he's not, he's actually quite good, but he's not the god people make him out to be. One Super Bowl, and countless awful picks and horrible plays, including 1 or 2 today.

Re:Live Tournament Hand I Can't Get My Head Around
That is as good an explanation as any, I suppose. However, we were only playing for about 5.5 hours. We had been 3 handed for quite some time however. Maybe he was tired of looking at garbage and just decided to make his stand hoping he had live cards, which he did. Very strange hand, is all I can say.

Live Tournament Hand I Can't Get My Head Around
I was playing on Saturday in a $150 tournament at Wheeling Island Racetrack and Casino. We were down to the final 3 when a hand came up I really have been wondering about since then. Situation was this: Approximately 150,000 total chips in play. I had appromiately 80,000. Both my opponents had approximately 35,000. Top 3 spots being paid. Approximately a $500 difference between 2nd and 3rd places. Approximately a $700 difference between 1st and 2nd places. Blinds are 1000/2000 with a 500 chip ante. Aggressive player (on the button) raises to 7500 Small blind (not aggresive) ...

Perry Mason - Killer in "The Case of the Deadly Verdict"
Who was the killer in the Perry Mason episode which aired in 1963 called "The case of the Deadly Verdict." I got looking for this when I saw this episode mentioned during the Sontomayer confirmation hearings. All I can find is that the killer is a surprise, but I can't find the actual killer.

Re:My week of hell!
I am very glad things seem to have worked out for your son. Above all, that is what is important. As far as contacting an attorney (an I am a personal injury attorney), I'd let that go. It seems to me that Kaiser may have been negligent for not ensuring your son received treatment sooner and perhaps endangering his life. But only a review of all records by an MD can confirm that. However, the good folks at Oakland Children's Hospital saved his life -- and fortunately -- your son has no apparent ill affects. Therefore, even if Kaiser was negligent, their negligence did not cause ...

Re:Very interesting civil case my firm just recently settled.
I agree that is an interesting case. I'm an attorney doing this type of work as well, and I'm very curious about the result. Since they admitted the wrong, and since it obviously settled for more 25K, I am going to go with 100K. I don't think the outcast argument is very strong, actually, but generations of tradition broken, that's a different story. Whatever the actual settlement was, you can be proud of the fact that you helped this family, despite what all the nay sayers say. My experience with this type of law is that many people have this same attitude about lawyers and ...

Re:so my ankle/foot is all @#%#ed up...remedys needed...(pics)
I mangled my ankle playing basketball. Blew up like a pumpkin. I had no insurance. I tried to tough it out. I failed. I went to the hospital. I would have bet anything it was broken. They told me it was not broken. Unbelievably lucky, I thought. Wrong they told me. It's a serious sprain with like ligament/tendon damage. 12 weeks before I could walk on it. It's now 20 years later and I have an arthritic ankle. Proceed to doctor. ASAP.

Re:Just left the Steelers Parade
The parade was excellent, even for a little city like Pittsburgh. Only 311K, but 400K or so at the parade. (Interstingly, for those of you who don't know, Pittsburgh is relatively small area wise for a city, but is within a larger metropolitan area, population, approximately 2 million. So while it is fair to say that Pittsburgh is a little city, it is within a mid-sized metropolitan area). As far as the refereeing goes: Calls were likely missed on both sides. For Pittsburgh, Santonio Holmes should have been flagged for the powder move, and the roughing the passer was lame. On the other ...

Re:Superbowl Officiating
If they had called that hold, that would have been the worst call in the history of football. Not only was it not a hold, but there is no way Warner is making that tackle. That extended arm is nothing more than Warner getting shucked aside.

Re:Superbowl Officiating
I never said it shouldn't have been reviewed. I certainly thought it was going to be reviewed. I'm just saying the replay official upstairs did look at it, and for one reason or another decided not to buzz down to the referee. Some would say the only reason he wouldn't buzz down is because the play was clear in his mind and that the call on the field was correct.

Re:Superbowl Officiating
I thought that while you could go out of bounds, you had to make every effort to get back in bounds as soon as possible. Otherwise, if you are permitted to run unchecked out of bounds for 40 yards or so, as Fitzgerald did, you can't really be blocked. (Except by your own player of course!)

Re:Superbowl Officiating
In my previous message, I forgot about the holding call in the end zone. On that one I say: When you are getting run over by a D lineman, it is best just to take the pancaking like a man, as opposed to looping your arm around the guy and tackling him in the end zone. I didn't like it, and I think that call is rarely made -- but I can't argue about it.

Re:Superbowl Officiating
Let me try again. Again, I'm still biased. But here's my best take. Super Bowl XL 1. Offensive pass interference -- It was. Plain and simple. Jackson pushed off and changed the direction of the defender. Is it always called' No. Usually' No. But the guy did do it directly in front of the official. 2. Ben's touchdown -- I think he scored. But, you really couldn't tell definitively either on the field or replay, so call on field stood. 3. Holding on Seattle pass to the 1. -- Shaky at best. If they called that hold all the time, there would be a flag on every play. Super ...

PS 3 Wireless Connection Help!
I bought my 8 year son a PS3 for Christmas. I attempted to use the wireless connection, and at first ran into trouble because I couldn't remember what the WEP encryption code was. I figured that out, and I think I now make a connection, however, the system is timing out when it tries to obtain an IP address. I tried to enter the IP address manually, but that didn't help either. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Madden 09 for the Wii
I am a long time p5s member, a regular reader of OT, and an infrequent poster. But I need assistance. I'm 43 years old and have 3 boys. The oldest (age 8) is basically beating my brains in on Madden 09 for the Wii. While I can put up points against my son and his friends, my defense is non-existent. I usually am playing the Steelers defense (usually against the Patriots) or the Patriots defense (usually against the Steelers). Any defensive tips would be graciously appreciated. (Any offensive tips would also be greatly appreciated). I just lost a heartbreaker 55-49 in OT, playing as the ...

Re:Greatest Catch Ever
My 7 year old son in Game 1 of his T-shirt league (7 and 8 year) World Series on Monday night. Diving, rolling, lunging catch in Left Center field of a sinking line drive. It's the best ever because if I tossed him a ball from 10 feet away, and, assuming he's paying attention, he'd be about 60/40 to catch it. I consider it a miracle. Really.

Re:Mountaineer Park -- Ted Arneault Poker Classic - $1100 -- Anyone playing? Structure?
They had 147, a little less than expected. Could be because it was a Sunday, the weather was nice, and the Penguins were playing at home, cutting down on the Pittsburgh crowd. I thought the structure was excellent, but the day was long. When I checked out at 1:30 there were still 12 players left (started at 11 AM). 45K to 1st. They have a 2 day $1500 event starting May 25 and 26. 40,000 in chips, 1 hour levels, 11 hours on day 1, conclusion on day 2. This structure looks slower than just about any structure I've seen.

Re:Flopped Straight Flush; Became 7 Card Straight Flush
I had this happen to me live, only I improved to a Royal Flush. Was playing live cash 5/5 game, dealt 10Jspades. Flop came Q, 9, 8 spades, turn K of spades, river A of spades. I didn't bet to the end, and amazingly got 2 callers despite the fact everyone but me had to be playing the board. Craziest thing I ever saw.

Re(1): Who's The Greatest Playa You have Knocked Out!
Barry Greenstein, 2004 WSOP, 3K NL Hold 'em. Before his book came out so no signed copy for me. Also, saw Hellmuth in that tournament rip his pair of kings in disgust when his opponent flopped a set of sevens. That alone was worth the price of admission. Classic.
