Re(2): Took a shot playing above my bankroll and...
Never criticize someone for taking a risk that you're unwilling to as long as they are willing to deal with the consequences. Rough break, hope the next time you try this it rockets you ahead.

Re(1): good roi for the 60 turbo sngs on stars, please respond sng grinders
On FullTilt I make about 10% on $55-$220 with over 2000 played in the past 4 months, and I'm sure there are stupendous players who do better than this up to around 20-25% I imagine, but 40%+ is not sustainable at high buyin over the long run.

Re(1): question for all good players
In regards to any players that are close to in strength but might be weaker than I, the qualities would be: Attention to detail. Approaching unfazable. Strong gut faith and solid gut action. Respecting the intelligence of my opponents when warranted, and acting accordingly. Having strong cross-training in other complex strategy games, and enjoying playing and learning just for its own sake. One interesting thing about poker is that it allows for players with many different types of strengths to be successful in different arenas.

Re(1): for the SNG grinder how do u play it
I usually standard raise at 3x, but here I would probably raise 2.5x. To some people it looks scarier, but depending on what happens you can more easilly get away if you feel the need to and be left with plenty. In a turbo, and/or if the blinds are moving up soon, pushing does seem like a reasonable option.

Glasstapping
Today while playing a high buy-in SNG I experienced the worst case of glass-tapping I had ever seen, and I could not believe that someone playing at these levels would do so. Not only did this player mention sharkscope at the table, but he started going off on a losing player about his stats and how his kids are going to get no XMas presents, and look at my stats I'm so good, etc, etc. I really was shocked. Not only that, but I just looked this player up on the player search on this site, and he is in fact a P5er. So, for those of you who have not yet read this article, please do ...

Since no one has, I'm gonna give props to BigRiskky (old PLO8 Party vets gotta stick together) for a WSOP Bracelet and a WPT win. Two undeniably big accomplishments, WP.

Re(1): I want 1 good player to admit its easier playing with better players than complete wildcards.
Here's a question though... if you're a strong chess player, would you rather play against another strong player or a really weak player' I think the answer will be different depending on whether you're playing for enjoyment or for money.

Re(1): Matt Maroon's book...
I met Matt this past summer and he is a very smart, no nonsense sort of guy (but still fun to hang out with). I haven't picked up his book but know that he has been a very strong limit Hold'Em player for years and has been doing very well for himself lately money-wise. Couldn't hurt taking a look at the book if you're trying to work your way up the limit ladder. He also has a poker blog that I'm sure won't be too hard to find if you're curious.

Re(1): Anyone grind Razz?
Used to, but most games are so bad because there are only strong players in them. There are much better games to grind for sure, especially these days. I would only play a lot of Razz if you're looking to improve your HORSE skills.

I do this sometimes too. I often wish you could do it live and mute people, sort of like Adam Sandler in Click... but starring you, and me, at the World Series... and I'm just tossing this one out as a brainstorm, but I'm thinking of a good title here, picture it... Chipped. Let's make this happen.

If you're playing $1-5 SNGs then you should be more focused on improving your skill-set than what your hourly rate is.

Re(5): one of the best poker articles ive ever read...
Ok, so 12% of the time he will be dominated and have a (generous) 20% chance of winning (actually a bit less the higher the pair or if suit dominated). 88% of the time he will be in a coin-flip and have a (generous) 54% chance of winning (actually a bit less because of hands like JTs). So: (0.12 x 0.20) + (0.88 x 0.54) = 49.9% But, since he does have fold equity, 50% is just fine... unless of course the BB was bigstack and the SB had only 100 chips left after posting. However, I still think his wife should leave him.
