Holdem Manager Cash Game Hand Filters? Playing around with Holdem Manager I found that you can fliter hands. Specifically I found the filters Could of C-Bet Did C-Bet on flop, turn, river. So I set these to find out where HM would suggest I increase my aggressiveness. My question is has anyone used these filters to learn' What was your experience' Any other useful filters you would recommend in order to learn how to play better/more efficiently' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Help w/ Calculations please .... Playing $.25/$.50 Fixed Hold'em, over the first 10,800 hands I played I managed to win 230BB w/ Std dev BB = 13.33 and a win rate of 2.12BB/100 over the last 3,900 hands I've played I've managed to lose 200BB w Std dev BB = 13.01 and a win rate of -5.18BB/100 I'm new to limit hold'em and am just trying to get an understanding so I don't freak out when i drop $100. Is this a standard type of downswing. My overall win rate is at 0.29/BB over 14,400 hands. It is my understanding that I with this Std dev BB I should experience swings of 45BB. Limit Holdem - Bad Streaks??? Recently I decided to grind out micro limit cash games. I use a fairly similar strategy to the one present in "Small Stakes Hold'em" which has been profitable for me in the past. I've logged about 11,000 hands @ $.25/$.50 and managed to make 2BB/100, having success I decided to test the waters at the $.50/$1 limit and have gotten hammered. Over 4000 hands and I'm averaging -3BB/100 hands. I noticed that players are better at folding on the turn/river, but some of the beats I've been taking are ridiculously similar to the ones that happen at the $.25/$.50 level, yet ... $11 MTT's compared to Micro's? I've been playing Micro tournaments for some time, recently moved up to $11MTT's, $3Rebuys. Is there a major change to overall tournament strategy. Re:(Cash players) Whats your cashout strategy? Jennifear has a good thread .. basically you need to find out your win rate $/hr. (a conservative one)<- she stresses this You then cash out 1/2 of that for every hour you play. ie.) Lets say you've established a conservative hourly rate of $5/hr. You play for 8 hours. You would cash out $20. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Multi Tableing and Bankroll Management? Thanks for your response. I had just found your thread when you posted .. I had one final question. In terms of determining your HR win rate. What sample size do you think is enough to get an idea' Currently I have 7600 at the .25/.50 limit level and make about $4.50/hr should I go to 10,000 hands. And can these numbers be used when moving up limits or should I simply wait until I have enough of a sample size at the new limit in order to determine my new HR win rate' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Multi Tableing and Bankroll Management? appreciate the reply and information. And I agree that this is a good way to calculate a BR in terms of BB. And if you look at numbers provided I use 550 which is a conservative approach. My question is how should these numbers be altered while multi-tabling .. Or better yet, how do people alter these numbers when they multi table' Since you have a larger % of your BR in play when you multi-table do you increase the # of BB's you have in your BR' And by how much' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Multi Tableing and Bankroll Management? I'm assuming ABI is average buy ins ... that means that @ a $.50/$1 Limit Table. Where the ABI is $20 you would need a $6000 BR. That seems a bit high, no' Note: I'm talking Limit cash games... and NL MTT's Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Multi Tableing and Bankroll Management? My current BR strategy is a combination of what was posted by Fox and Jennifear. 550 Big Bets - Limit 200 Buy ins - MTT's w/ cash outs paid for volume... My question is in regards to having a certain % of your BR in play. Lets say you only want to have at most 10% of your BR @ play. If you buy $20/table at the $.50/$1 limit and 4 table you will have $80 in play. This would mean you should have $800 in your BR. But the bankroll guidelines only require you to have $550. So is my reasoning correct here... Should I boost my BR conditions' What is a reasonable/recommendable % to have in ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What's the fair percentage in a one time backing arrangement? Depends on weather or not there is make up .. Standard is 70/30 with no make up. 60/40 with make up. Since its your dad .. I would go 60/40 no make up 50/50 make up Make up means your return the 100 and split the rest at the % above Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Worth a Squeeze? Appreciate the advice but I really feel calling is the worst of my options. I only have 2600 and have to call 400. Thats 1/6th of my stack. even if I double up my implied odds are just horrible. Unless I stack them both w/ a set and I just don't see that happening. So Many over cards to come, that will just shrink my hand. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Worth a Squeeze? I noticed the 4x raise from early position and put him on two over cards. AJo type hands. Looking to protect but afraid to play a flop. I figured w/ 950 in the pot representing about 1/3 of my stack and 26bb in my stack representing 1/4 or the original raisers stack and half of the callers I could get hands to fold her or be in a race at best. Unless of course he's waking up w/ 99+ here. Again I lost the hand but my question is ... is my thinking/play correct. Or did I try this to early in the tournament. It just feels like a flat call is out of the question and a fold seems to week. I ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:is this an easy fold?? Here's the thing ... You may be right 100% of the time here and put him on a hand like AK, AQ. But my experience w/ JJ-QQ here is that you're either only slightly ahead or dominated. You still have a long tournament to go. You still have 40x BB and about an M of 15. I think you sigh and fold here .. Wait until you get a better read or a better spot. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
