Pastor says all gays should be locked in electrified pen
I'm fine with allowing gay marriage ... I just ask that we go ahead and open it up to any number of people being allowed to be married, so we don't have to have this lame debate in 10 -15 years. Also, it's BS that married couples get any tax breaks at all - discriminates against us single folk.

Picking Team USA
I think a lineup of Magic, Jordan, Pippen, Malone, Ewing matchup VERY well against this lineup. I'd take the 92' team in fact.

Picking Team USA
No ONE can ... but he couldn't do everything himself and he couldn't play the whole game. Between Robinson, Ewing, Bark, and Malone (at least 2 playing at the same time), I think the 92' team would have a good advantage in rebounding.

+ 1 Griffey Jr. may have gone down as the GOAT ... if he hadn't gotten hurt so much ... and if he hadn't been compared to a bunch of roided up freaks from the same era. Imagine no massively inflated numbers from Sosa, Mcgwire, Bonds, Arod, etc. -- and a healthy Griffey.

Science Saved My Soul..
qjuice told us that "faith based suicide bombings" were an evil action that only the religious could do (because they are faith based). I was simply making the point that if that is the case, then there are tons of good actions that can be done by only the religious -- like "faith based helping the poor" (because it's faith based). Not to be confused with regular "helping the poor" -- which anyone can obviously do.

Science Saved My Soul..
If you've come to OT for an education, I'm afraid you're going to be greatly disappointed. I'm not defending religion, or science, or anything else. I simply made a point that there are plenty of good deeds people can do in the name of their religion. Religions are like people, in that that there are tons of different beliefs and ideas between each entity. Some good, some bad, some benign -- with most being a mixture of all three. Of course you already knew everything I said, though, so I'm not sure why I bothered with a reply.

[QUOTE=qjuice14;6839257]We are not assuming that lie the itself is lie is evil. "Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so". Any action, in and of itself, can be performed with or without religion. Nobody here is arguing otherwise. But no action, in and of itself is right or wrong; It is the intention behind the action. If I say "faith based suicide bombings" you and ncj are doing a disservice to your position by saying that anyone can suicide bomb regardless of their religious beliefs. I am not trying to argue that they can't nor am I trying to argue that they don't. The ...

Huh' We were assuming the lies were evil -- and that they were done in the name of religion. I don't personally think all lies are evil. I don't think I said that and certainly didn't mean to imply it.

Is it though (in regards to being evil)' If I misinform, or lie to you and convince you to do something -- under the guise of an infallible God; how is that "more evil" than misinforming, or lying to you -- under the guise of anything else' In both cases, the evil is found in the lie.

The "evil" being done in each of your examples are people lying, fabricating, and/or being ignorant ... none of which can ONLY be done in the name of religion.

Conservatism -> Prostitution & Homosexuality?
Or maybe it's more intertwined because it's legal. You don't think it would be more intertwined in western countries if it was legal here' I also love how legal prostitution is now considered a universal quality for conservative countries.

Conservatism -> Prostitution & Homosexuality?
So conservatism = prostitution; because a bunch of foreigners from western, more "liberal" countries like to spend money on prostitutes when they visit ... as do many of the locals from the "conservative" country' Seems to me, people (liberal or conservative) like to spend money on prostitutes when given the option.

What are you giving up for Lent?
You called it "silly", which doesn't sound like the words of someone "just trying to understand" Not that it really matters too much. You quoted me, so I assumed you were calling me butthurt -- which seemed extreme. I decided to return the favor, and call you out for whining. I think we both can probably agree this argument is getting silly, though.

Yup, I'm the one getting butthurt ... Not the guy whining about what other people do for Lent lol I can't speak to what everyone gives up. I know many people fast . Eating food is typically good for you Some just do something simple like giving up time to do extra charity work or something like that.

What are you giving up for Lent?
Its already been established, that you don't necessarily have to give up something bad for you. I'm not sure why you keep saying that -- but that might be part of the reason you don't see the correlation. Assuming you believe in the Christian God (and Catholics obviously do), it would be completely normal to acknowledge/pay tribute to that God on a special date. This really isn't that hard.
