hawaii still good as usual, a little more rainy and cool at night (low 70s LOLZ) but its still a nice place to visit. it will prob fit into your budget but id go somewhere else nearby either up in oregon or cali, go skiing or some shit, ive been to mt. hood and thats about it, loved it up there. id go somewhere nearby and instead of dropping 1k on plane tickets, use that 1k to upgrade the shit out of wherever you are staying or whatever you are doing. totally just spoil/enjoy yourself. better use of money imo

here for college. not totally sure what to reccomend because im from maui but hanauma bay is nice (prolly whre you're going snorkeling). def check out sunset beach, sandys, ala moana shopping mall, or even better pearlridge (much nicer). makaha beach, kailua beach + lanikai if you have the chance, most beautiful water in teh world. stay away from waikiki if possible, the country is much nicer

you called' im a student over here and have was born and raised, dont know much about oahu though as i lived on maui, just started college this year. one thing i definitely agree on is that its fucking expensive to live here, food is amazingggg (if you know where to go you can find alot of decent food for cheap), if you wanted to live on oahu i would suggest the town of kailua, prob 20 min drive into honolulu and its very non-hustle-bustley, very laid back and settled. maui is the best (aka maui no ka oi) but if you're lookin to not break the bank, id say oahu is the place to check out. ...
