Jerry Yang's Results in the Last Year?
I've been away from the poker scene and am serious about his results. On a poker profile I saw one tournament in October where he got 14th last year. Has he played anything else' Is he affiliated with a site' S

Did Anyone Else Get FTP Hats Mailed to Them for No Reason...
3 FTP FTOPS hats arrived at my house today for no reason. The joke is that since I banned myself for 30 days FTP is trying to get on my good side again. Did anyone else get these hats' And although for poker reasons I wish I had only banned myself for a week, my girlfriend loved the idea and has specifically indicated she's rewarding me (if you know what I mean) for it. Anyone else had similar experiences'

Re(3): Hellmuth's bracelet record
I love how all these internet players come on here and act like Hellmuth sucks. Correct me if I'm wrong. He's won 2 bracelets the last 2 years. Hellmuth may not be great at the other games or at cash games but that does not mean he is not a great NL tournament player. But feel free to tell me all the flaws in his game' What he's not as aggressive as some of the internet kids who are willing to conflip it with AK' Hellmuth somehow keeps grinding away and low and behold ends up with a bracelet(s). I don't see anything wrong with that. But I'd love to hear what you think is wrong with his ...

Can Pokerstars Post Something About Hand for Hand Play
I wish the online sites and in particular pokerstars would post something saying "It is hand for hand. There is no advantage to stalling." Despite it being hand for hand. Everyone is stalling at my table. It happens every tourney and I think about half the people realize tehre is little point to it.

Someone Wants a Piece of Me in the Main Event How Should the % Work?
A couple of friends have expressed interest in buying a piece of me in the ME. How would such an agreement (1 time deal) usually work' So does 10% equal 5% of winnings' That generally is how a long term deal would work from what I understand. They back 100% and get 50% of profits. But short term I'm not sure what is fair.

Re(4): The Dreaded Question???
Yeah technically if you win $1000 but really won like $21000 and lost $20k, you have to report 21k as wins, then 20k as loses. This screws over your state taxes in many states. I guess the moral is get really good and file as a professional or perhaps most people just net it out. i have no idea.

Epassporte and Giftcards.com Count as Cash Advances?
I still am amazed at how little info the pokersites have on their sites about US players depositing. Most of the information isn't very good. Anyway, if I use a credit card to fund Epassporte does it count as a cash advance. For some reason I think it doesn't if I use Visa but does if I use MasterCard. Is this correct' But with it doesn't count as a cashadvance. If this is the case, I don't see why the sites aren't heaviliy promoting . I believe you could load $500 for $2 on there instead of paying $25 on epassporte. Unrelated question: What is the best way to say to get $5000 into my ...

Name of Site That Tracks # of Players Playing Online
A poker buddy of mine in college is writing a paper on the poker boom. He's looking for articles on the pokerboom. I told him to show how much the WPT, WSOP has grown etc. I then told him there was some site that tracks who many people are playing online at the main sites at any one time. But I can't remember the name of it' Any help would be appreciated. Plus if you have any more sources for him, might as well post them. I can't believe I went to college when the internet didn't really exist.

Why Do Sites Need to Ask for Your Address anyway?
It seems like the question for Pokerstars is whether they want to keep operating as they are and make a ton of money but risk perhaps getting left on the side if ever poker gets regulated in the US. Or do they pull out now and hope to get in the US market later if it gets regulated' My question is why do the sites need to even ask for your address' Just ask for your name and age. The money comes through neteller and all of a sudden the sites are left in the clear. The sites could have a disclaimer that it is up to the player to follow the laws in their jurisdiciton. Thus from the players ...

If it Wasn't Illegal to Run a Poker Site Before The Bil Why Did They Use .net in Advertising?
Here's my question: I assumed it was illegal before this legislation was passed to run a poker site in the US that accepted wagers. Hence the reason why every site advertises its .net name. Hence the reason every site was set up off shore. Thus what does this legislation change from the perspective of the poker sites' I see now it is illegal for a bank to transact with the sites now but I don't see what it changes in terms of the poker sites. Apparently, they thought it was illegal or someone did otherwise they would have advertised their .com names in the US and set up shop in the US. So I ...

Re(1): Is Main Event Not Worth Playing Anymore with New Payout Structure
Of course they are paying out 300 more people this year but they also have like $40,000,000 in prize money to pay them with. And i think of course pros should be at the TV table. but last year they would break up the tv table and make a new tv table from an already existing table. This year I hear they say, "Hey phil ivey should be brought over here" and move him over. I think the other way is a bit more fair. Considering Harrahs and ESPn don't put anything back into the prize pool i think the players should be a bit upset. Its ridiculous that 81st place pays less this year than last.

Is Main Event Not Worth Playing Anymore with New Payout Structure
Last year you go through 4000 people and finish 81st you got $107,000 This year you go through like 9000 people and finish 81st (much harder to do) and you get $65000. Does this new payout strcuture make the tournament not worth playing' I'm surprised there had not been more dicussion of the payout structure this year. It seems like the ME is turning not into a fair poker tournament but more of a promotion piece for ESPN. i heard tales of provocative players (people yelling and being obnoxious), top name pros, etc, being moved to the TV table this year instead of randomly selecting the TV ...

Re(5): Why are the ranked players sucking it up @ WSOP
Great post lowdog. It's true. I'm not going to say JohnnyBax is not a great poker player but the online rankings here are far from absolute and reward guys who sit and play tournaments all day and publicize their results (or just play under the same name across all sites) Many others may save their day hours for say their job or perhaps higher stakes live games who knows what. And there are differences between the live and online game. Online the tournament is going to go by quicker so you may be rewarded for taking some calculated pushes/chances. Live Big events patience is more rewarded ...

Re(1): PokerXFactor vs. Cardrunners
oh my god. It costs $149.95 to sign up for Pokerxfactor' These guys are making bank. They're good online players but that is highway robbery. I'd say sign up for Cardrunners just for that reason alone. But if you're a bad player the $149.95 may well be worth it, but you can get months of PXfactor for that much. I must say the Xfactor site seems better put together. i'm at least able to find samples, without signing up and their software obviously cost a lot to create. So give them credit on that but I think they need to make their pricing a little more reachable. With this much money ...

Re(2): Paradise Poker POWER Challenge
Thanks for pointing this out. I've always wondered why sites don't take a rake on rebuys but I didn't know Paradie actually did. It puts them at a disadvantage compared to the other sites. So what sites take a cut on each rebuy' And rebuys on Stars and others (with no rake) are the best deals on the net right' Much lower overall rake. Shows what the sites could do for all tournaments.

What other sites allow this' I think Fulltilt but don't know of any others. I don't see why the sites restrict who does what with their money. $10,000 is $10,000. I know on Stars you can get W$ but if I have $20,000 in w$ what am I going to do with that many'

Re(1): Petition to bring back ub $500
Was there a thread about them cancelling these tourneys' If so can you point me to the thread' UB has the best blind structure on the net. A lot of regular players realize this. The problem is there site freezes and crashes all the time and a lot of regulars realize this as well. But I went to UB to play the $200 Wedneday and the $500 Sunday. I'll play cash games while I'm on there as well but want to know why they cancelled these' Its embarassing how unreliable their site is.

Re(1): Anyone Else Reporting Poker Accounts on Treasury Form 90-22
I see now why people think they aren't financial accounts. I was trying to do one for pokerroom and I can't even figure out where they are located. Does anyone know where pokerroom, paradise, UB or Fulltilt are located' They all seem to be regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission so do I put Canada' Paradise is owned by a UK company but I can't find anything on the others. Pokerstars is out of Isle of Man and has the accounts in a separate bank so it seems the most like a financial account.
