Yea. Makes alot of sense. I am constantly trying to play tight early on, and shift gears when the blinds get up there, but I guess I need some psych tips, because in the back of my mind I'm thinking, "Its just a freeroll, what the hell". I know this is very wrong, as I always play to win, but I will keep your suggestions in mind. Thanks alot!

Re(1): Did I play this wrong, or just get unlucky?
I was in one of the $5,000 APP membership drive freerolls, down to 60 sum players, got AA on the BB, and made the mistake of ONLY raising it 3X. 3 people called, flop came 2-3-4 rainbow, SB checked, i shoved, and got called by 5-6. Turn was a 6, river blank, i got $16, first got $1,064. The guy who railed me ended up winning it. O yea, i had 162K preflop, blinds were 6k/12k. Late in a tourney, just shove w/AA, I see top pros doing it all the time. Why risk getting drawn out, if they wanna call a push w/K-10 off, thats thier problem. Vrey unlucky for you, I feel 4 ya.

I play drunk all the time, and make similar decisions to if i was sober. U gotta know how to handle ur buzz first of all, but I do seem to tilt more when I'm drunk. Try smokin cronic instead, it makes me 1000X more focused, and can fold for days and wait for the monster hands!

IMO you play very tight and are better off playing Stud or maybe razz, where you can see the action as it unfolds. I lay down AAxx only in tourneys and where I am already in the money and wouldn't want to risk losing more of the payout. In a cash game, at least see a flop for $26, because you know one of your oppnents is pot-commiting themselves, so check out the flop, and if isn't too scarry, follow through w/ your monster!

Full Tilt. The players are more skilled, therfore may fold to raises more often than others. You don't want to be playing with idiots who crack a set by hitting runner-runner flush, or do you' ; )

I would have just called the extra 100 and seen a flop. 3's are very unlucky, and since you had the button the next hand, I would of limped and tried to hit a set. You still had plenty of time to pick a better spot. At least 2 more orbits before u shove.

I have folded kings pre-flop, yes the play was questionable, but it worked out greatly. Here's the scenario: It was a 20 person SNG @ our weekly home game and the buy-in was $20+2. We started w/1500 in chips. The payouts were $220, $120, and $60, we were down to 3 players. Player 1 (SB) had around 16,000 in chips, Player 2 (BB) had around 9,000, and I (me) had 5200. The bilnds were 300/600. On the button, I was dealt KK and min-raised (1200). The SB insta-raised to 5000, and BB insta-reraised to all-in. I cashed in a freeroll on Stars for $13, lost 3 $1 mtt's in a row then lost the rest at a $0.01/$0.02 NLHE table, all-in preflop til it was all gone : )
